Cumbria Court is a modern, third floor apartment in the centre of vibrant Windermere village. With one king size double and one zip twin bedroom, the property sleeps 4. There is a large open plan living area with corner sofa and modern kitchen with breakfast bar and stools. Private parking is in a secure gated area. Just a short walk will take you into the village centre and the Lakes and Fells of the national park are on your doorstep.

Area
Windermere a busy village with an abundance of shops, cafes and bars a short distance from the shores of Bowness on Windermere.The towns of Bowness and Windermere hold appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter is 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake. The area is ideally situated for exploring all that this region has to offer, whether by foot, bike, car, railway or bus; and is within easy reach of attractions such as the spectacular Langdales, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House at Far Sawrey, Coniston, Grizedale Forest Park, with its delightful walks and famous outdoor sculptures, mountain biking and “Go-Ape” adventure park, Ullswater, Kendal, Keswick, stone circles, Roman forts and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike.

We have stayed at 14 Cumbria Court twice now. The flat is a very comfortable home from home, very well equipped, with everything that you would need for your stay. WiFi, Freeview TV, well equipped kitchen - fridge with freezer section, washing machine, dishwasher. This 3rd floor flat is located a short walk away from the centre of Windermere, but in a quiet street, with all that the lake district offers right on your doorstep. There is also an allocated parking space behind the flat with access through remote controlled security gates. There are several pubs and restaurants in the vicinity if you want to eat out, and a Sainsbury’s local supermarket a few yards away if you want to eat in. The only downside that I can think of is that there is no lift to the flat, but most people come to this area to climb hills and walk for miles, so a few flights of stairs would not deter them. Not suitable for wheelchairs though. Overall, a very nice, well appointed flat. Spacious, modern and clean. We thoroughly recommend it and hope to come back here again in the future.

The flat was exactly as pictured except there was no indication it was up three flights of stairs with no elevator.. This proved onerous with heavy luggage. Knowing this ahead of time would have been helpful. The flat was spacious and well equipped but with 2 notable lacks: there was no coffee maker of any kind (not even the simplest French press) and there was no hair dryer, two basic items in most rentals. Also, the refrigerator was a mini, not full-sized, which was fine for us but unexpected in a kitchen of this size. Picking up and leaving the key was easy and the email messages were clear and comprehensive. I did try calling Sykes once after hours with a question about the key return but I just got an endless phone tree and was never able to leave a message. The flat was in an excellent location, right in town but very quiet. Overall, we were very satisfied with it.

It was difficult to appreciate how snug the second bedroom was from the picture.. It would be fine for two children but was a bit of a squeeze for anyone bigger. The heating was amazing. Otherwise we found the place was well equipped and suited our needs in all areas. Excellent location for a well equipped apartment.

The apartment was clean, well equipped and exactly as it looked in the photos.. The position was excellent for the walks we wanted to do in Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness. Although the apartment is in the centre of Windermere it is quiet and having a dedicated parking space was a bonus. We ate out every night in Windermere and there is plenty to choose from and only a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. We even found a delightful Italian cafe/restaurant that served an excellent choice of breakfast meals from 8.00 am. Our only negatives were the comfort of the corner suite and the two single beds hadn't been zipped to make a double bed (I had telephoned a week before our booking and requested this as it is given as an option in the advertising and been assured it would be done but sadly it wasn't). The apartment definitely contributed to us having a great break.

The apartment was excellent, although potential holidaymakers should be made aware that it is on the 4th floor with quite a few stairs to climb.. Although there was a dryer situated on the ground floor the door to the room in which it was situated was permanently locked and we had no means to access it, Not ideal when there is washing to dry - which is not unusual when holidaying in the Lake District!! The apartment was well equipped but an ironing board and iron would have been good. We carefully followed the directions provided but could find no trace of Cumberland Court on the left (as stated in the directions) it was actually situated on the right!! (yes we did enter the road from the direction stated). Apart from these minor problems this was one of the best properties we have rented for a holiday. Extremely well situated and very peaceful considering how close to all the amenities it is.

The apartment was ideally situated in windemere very central but in quiet location was very clean and had all facilities necessary.. Had a very enjoyable stay and have no hesitation in booking this again . Have already recommended this to other people.

Very nice apartment in a good central position but far enough away from traffic etc to be very peaceful.. Well equipped and lovely and clean and comfortable. We enjoyed gorgeous weather and loved the amazing scenery of the lake district

Walking up the stairs to the apartment, we thought this was a bit run down and was expecting the worse but when we got into the apartment, it has a very welcoming atmosphere. There was everything that we needed albeit wifi but we weren't in long enough to be bothered. Coming back from the various walks, it was a nice and comfortable place to relax. It was very spacious, modern and clean. Definitely recommend

Information good and keys waiting for us. The appartment was very nice with everything one needed including a good view. Only 50meters to main shopping street but the back road was quiet enough. Night storage radiators should have been on for arrival as it was only 7degrees and not for the less able as it is on the third floor. We really enjoyed our stay.

We booked the apartment online and rather last minute but we were impressed with the internal photos.We were given a code to access the key box but on arriving at our apartment at 7pm we found the key didn't fit the apartment door so after several phone calls we went back to the office and collected the correct key(which was in an envelope addressed to someone else)We were assured the apartment had an iron but there wasn't one.We did enjoy our holiday as the apartment was well equipped , very clean and very close to the shops, restaurants and station.However we felt let down by the service from the letting office,

This was a lovely apartment that was very close to town and to other beautiful sites across the Lake District. It was a very welcome site after long walks and climbs. The kitchen was brilliantly stocked and spacious and the chairs were incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, there were no lifts, but we were able to live with that. There was an incident when the electric gates did not work, but the agency managed to resolve it very quickly. The place was impeccably tidy and clean and was very much a home away from home. When it was time to go, we were very sad to leave.

We wanted a place where we could relax in comfort after a day in the great outdoors and Cumbria Court was exactly that. Very well appointed and furnished we were sad to leave. The service from Lakes Cottages was very efficient and friendly. Our friends are already planning to book this location having seen our holiday snaps.

Just like staying in a hotel, only much cheaper and without annoying staff getting underfoot. Close to lots of resauraunts and had excellent self catering failities if you prefer. Easy walk to the lake and lots of things to do nearby. Our only niggles were that the car park had little room for maneuver when full for bigger cars and that there were no towels provided.
