The house was lovely inside lovely big rooms with plenty of space.. 7 of us stayed and we were all impressed with the house. We had one problem the fridge packed in and although the maintenance company were not as good as they could have been once the owner was involved the situation was resolved straight away and he could not have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend this house.

The house worked really well for us as we had three generations - spread over 4 floors there are plenty of rooms so everyone had space to do as they pleased - and the kitchen-diner was large enough to accommodate us all comfortably.. Being an old house the sound insultation was good so noise did not travel. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house comes with three TVs including Sky and BT Sports, a great hit with the young men in the house. The house is nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and generally well equipped - it felt like a home from home. Location wise, we had never stayed in Windermere before but really enjoyed the accessibility of the house to the local shops, it meant everyone was independent and able to shop/eat/drink without a car which was nice after spending the day walking. Parking, which I thought might be a bit tricky, was absolutely fine. We were always able to park outside the house with the permit and the other permit enabled us to park in the car park around the corner - where indeed there is also freely available parking on-street parking for non-permit holders - so if you have a third car that is no problem either. We would definitely return.

Only thing that i would improve would be the beds.. They were too soft and the support for the back when one lies down is not great.

We all had a fantastic half term holiday in the property.. There were a few issues with the TV while we were there, Sykes were brilliant and very helpful in getting it replaced. There are lots of stairs! A really lovely location, Windermere has some lovely pubs and cafes and only 5 minutes drive to Bowness. The kids loved having a separate living room to us and the Grandparents too.

The garden furniture needs replacing with sufficient and sturdy items.. Despite the hot weather the central heating was on and not apparently easy to switch off. The large oven was difficult to operate. The bbq does not seem to work well. Otherwise well equipped and well positioned property with plenty of space.

Overall a nice place to stay with plenty of room for all the family.. There were a few things that I mentioned to the lady in the Windermere office. The one thing that was particularly bad was the strong smell of urine at the bottom of the basement stairs.

This house is really lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.. The facilities are fab and there are enough bathrooms for the amount of people staying. The Kitchen/diner is really nice and in the basement, great for family meals. The house is spotless and and there is everything you need, we arrived to a basket with different jams etc. Its ideally situated and a nice walk into the centre. The only drawback is the bedrooms were quite cold at night but the weather was bad when we were there so this was definitely a factor, the heating was on all the time we were there. I would not hesitate in recommending this house to other people and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for making our stay really comfortable.

I booked the house for my birthday celebration with 8 people, late 20s to early 30s.. The house lived up to and exceeded our expectations. Two living rooms, plenty of bathrooms, nice beds and a good kitchen / dining area gave us lots of options for socialising and general lounging about. It was warm, comfy and bang in the middle of a town with shops, restaurants and cosy pubs. The Albert, 5 minutes walk from the boat tours, is excellent for food, beer and service. Oh, yeah, there's also a big old pretty lake nearby. There are permits for 2 cars, but we managed fine on nearby roads / carparks for our extra car. We had a problem with the parking permits when we arrived, completely beyond the control of the owners / Sykes. The Sykes office went out of their way to fix the problem, and as their office is only 2 minutes walk from the house, it was easily solved. Excellent customer service. The oven is a bit complicated, but there is an instruction booklet in the house so we worked it out without too much fuss. Some of the kitchen stuff could do with replacing (can opener / garlic press) but if that is a deal breaker for your holiday you need to reassess your priorities. Overall this is a wonderful property in a wonderful location stocked with a wonderful range of wonderful bits and bobs to make your stay a good one. Pick Up Sticks was very much appreciated.

The cottage cleanliness standard was lacking there were cobwebs on the light and under the sofa was filthy.. Also dropped something down the back of the bathroom cabinet and it came out full of hair not very pleasant. It was also full of confetti on the stairs for previous guests. There also needs to be more than one set of keys as the size of the property means you can have two families there and it’s not that secure where the keys are left when all your stuff is in the property.

Everything about the holiday was wonderful from booking.. The only problems were: We had a problem with TV's as only one of the 3 worked. After a phone call engineer was very prompt but could not fix problem but was passing it on to be fixed. This did not spoil our stay though. There were dirty trays in oven (should have been checked by cleaners). Otherwise cleaning was up to standard. Would not stop us from booking or recommending this property to our friends.

Great property very well equipped, a couple of diy issues, tiles off ,loose electric sockets, but excellent standard overall.. So much equipment in kitchen nowhere to put groceries, enjoyed our stay and if in the lakes again I would re book. X

Wonderful spacious property, great location.. One negative many chipped cups and plates, but otherwise perfect for our holiday. The staff in the office were very friendly and helpful with our request for Boxing on Sky tv.

Great Location a stones throw from shops, bars and restaurants. Spacious accommodation, large bedrooms, plenty of space for large groups. 2 bathrooms so no queues in the morning. Our group consisted of 3 generations including teenagers and a dog, wi-ifi was excellent which was essential. Parking was a bit hit and miss even with permits but there are other options open to you. Enjoyed great weather so had some lovely walks, would recommend this house as a great base to see the Lakes.

Weekend stay for 4 couples, arriving an a wet and miserable Friday afternoon to a warm and cosy cottage kicked our weekend off to a great start. The cottage is in a great location, within walking distance to the town centre and a 20 minutes walk to Bowness. The cottage had practically everything you would need. Lots of crockery, cutlery and glassware for more than 8 and the kitchen also had essentials that you forget like tea towels, salt, pepper, foil as well as coffee, tea, biscuits etc. The beds were comfy and warm, wifi was good and lots of extras like a Bluetooth speaker, charging cables, books and DVDs. We found the cottage to be spotless and there were two parking permits that we used, parking up two of our cars outside and the other one round the corner on the road with free parking. We couldn't use the garden as it didn't stop raining but the weather, although annoying didn't stop us enjoying ourselves. Had a thoroughly brilliant time and was reluctant to leave. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, well equipped cottage in a superb location.

The kitchen was very well equipped. The technology including a printer and portable speaker were very useful. The location was good with a good variety of shops, places to eat and drink.

I wasn't really looking forward to coming here, I thought it was overpriced and wasn't sure of its location due to it being booked by another family member. We were tired after long hard hours at work and it seemed a chore to drive so far. My wife and I arrived (last in our party) and although parking was a challenge we managed to stop outside the house to unload. We weren't disappointed when we went in. The house is on 4 levels and beautifully decorated. When the rain eased off we became aware of its perfect location with the town a mere few minutes walk. The house was warm with both central heating and under floor heating (which we didn't really master), the kitchen more than adequate and we have Sky and wifi, a real home from home. We were able to cater easily for our larger group and the sitting room was the hub for us to chill and have a laugh together. There were 4 couples so the price for each couple was no more than a hotel room, in fact for the time of year it was probably cheaper. Great value and location if you are coming as a larger party :) After our initial trepidation we had a brilliant time in a brilliant location with brilliant accommodation.....and of course brilliant company....family
