A lovely positioned cottage in the corner of the courtyard. From previous reviews, the problems raised had been rectified. However, we could not locate cutlery anywhere. We hunted in every drawer, cupboard and bedroom! We messaged the property with no response at all, which was not helpful.
Apart from this, the cottage was the perfect place for us to stay, close to friends, the beach and nearby Wadebridge for amenities.

March 2024
I would not recommend this property. We stayed for 2night in early March. After a 4 hr car journey we arrived, kitchen work services sticky and dirty dining table had crumbs on . We just thought we'll just tidy it later and go out. Took our dogs out got caught in rain came back No hot water. After trying serval numbers one said please text me. We were asked to leave property while being fixed heard nothing so texted after 2 hrs to ask if it was fix it was. Went back to a note from maintenance saying will be another2 hrs before the hot water will be ready. So spent 4 hrs in wet clothes and a 4 hr journey. Then finally 9.30pm sat we showered for it to flood the bathroom within minutes. The drains were obviously blocked and the court yard was blocked so I'm guessing may be something to do with that.
Also then the next day came back from beach to use outside shower that didn't also work and hadn't by the looks worked for a long time.
The walls in main bedroom had very bad cracks in as did all the walls in hallways and living room near radiator.
John bray called us when we arrived home we explained everything.
The next day then called sykes cottages who we booked through they were next to useless it took me 2 weeks of chasing them, and after that they just said We should a have complained about the property being dirty and they would of come to clean it and again with regards to drains. That would of been 3 call outs for a 2 night stay.
I was very frustrated as we had wasted 4 hrs getting the hot water sorted. We were actually on holiday and didn't expect to be making co mplants about everything while there. All these issues should have been addressed while the property was supposed to of been cleaned ready for our arrival. We paid £400 for 3 night but we only stayed for 2 our choosing and thank goodness we did.
Another point if you have mobility issues and have dogs or elderly the property is in a location where its pitch black at night with 1 solar light this definitely isn't enough if you ha e dogs with you. This needed addressing.
What was more frustrating is they took our money for the booking then I went to write a reviews and people who had stayed in the property weeks before us had all the same issues and this was not rectified which is beyond annoying. We wasted £400 on this stay when we could have stayed somewhere nicer.
Having stayed in a John bray property in padstow before which was fantastic.
I will not be recommending this cottage nor sykes cottages.
