With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. We were a three generational family group. The house gave us all plenty of space. It was warm, comfortable, with good facilities. There was constant hot water. We have all visited St. Ives on a number of occasions and for us the house was ideally placed with fantastic views. We had three cars but that wasn't an issue. We are well aware of the limited parking in St. Ives and bought a weekly parking ticket for the Leisure Centre Car park for one car that didn't move the whole week we were there once we dropped everything off. The house gave us easy access to the beaches, coastal walks, restaurants, shops etc. The only challenge was the oven/grill. Not the simplest for a rental - maybe would have helped if the manuals for the appliances were placed more prominently rather than being in a non-specific cupboard but that's a minor gripe! Loved the house!

We had a fantastic holiday.. Sunny days with only a drop of rain helped of course but the house was spacious, comfortable and warm. Hot water was ample though it took a while to reach the upper bathrooms. The town and harbour were a 10 minute walk away albeit with a steep hillon the return journey. St Ives is a great base for a holiday with many excellent places to visit locally.

We had a fantastic time at Porthmeor Beach House and we were blessed with good weather which made our week great fun.. The house provided us with the facilities and comfort that we were after for the week and the views over the beach where fantastic. Great to have parking for 2 cars in St.Ives. We parked a Quashqui and a Mazda 5 with some room to walk between so parking was fine for 2 good sized cars. We had no problems with any of the facilities in the house and they all worked fine. Just a note that the roads around St.Ives are quite steep so be prepared for a strenuous walk up and down from the town and beach!

The house was great.. We particularly appreciated the large amount of crockery and glassware which meant we had plenty to use even when the dishwasher was in use. The cleaning team were very friendly and helpful on Saturday as we were leaving.

I haven't been able to fill in the 'Your Holiday Cottage' part of the feedback properly because the boxes to choose from aren't showing what they represent (very good, good, poor etc) so please ignore the above.. My thoughts would be Accuracy - good, Cleanliness - poor, Comfort - good, Facilities - average. My feedback: Despite giving an average review on your website for Porthmeor Beach House last year we decided to rebook for this year due to the location of the property and the stunning views, which on reflection is the main thing we paid for with this property. After arriving very early in St Ives on the first day of our stay we were disappointed to be told that we couldn't enter the property until 6.30 that evening due to there being an issue with the cleaning company. We advised CCH that a Tesco order was to be delivered between 4 and 5 and so had to enter the property. We met the cleaners, who had been drafted in from elsewhere. They did their best but unfortunately they had only arrived at 2.00pm so could not have managed to clean the whole house between the two of them in 4.5 hours. We actually helped them in the kitchen in the end and asked them to leave other things so they could leave us and we could start our holiday. A very disappointing start, not to mention a not thoroughly cleaned house. We discovered the next day that not enough towels had been left for all the guests (two children had no towels) so I phoned CCH to ask for more and they promised to contact the company responsible and get them dropped off. They never arrived so the children ended up sharing towels. It also transpired that there was no hot water (which meant the cleaners had used cold water to clean the property!). After wading through the very complicated and unhelpful Hive instructions to no avail I found that the hot water had been turned off under the stairs. Unfortunately, however, there was no hot water to be had in the sink in the top bathroom (the same as last year). We decided to read the guest book and were shocked by the previous guests 4 page review who were more than unhappy. We then started to find a few of the things they had mentioned had still not been addressed before our arrival - upstairs shower still fills up too quickly (as it did last year), the downstairs toilet was still leaking, lots of bulbs blown esp, in kitchen etc. The thing that worried us most, however, was that the electric was still tripping so there is something somewhere in the house that is at fault and is a potential fire or electrocution hazard - unacceptable for a holiday home. The house generally needs some TLC as it looks grubby in places and lots of little things need attending to (damp patches, missing handles, misted double glazing, plumbing etc) and I find it difficult to understand why these things haven’t been addressed considering the amount of money being charged for high season bookings. I am assuming that the owners of the property don't ever visit to see how their house is deteriorating and the service from CCH has been less than perfect, hence my negative feedback. We did enjoy our holiday despite all of these niggles but they certainly took the edge off our experience. We had considered returning to the property but have decided not to as the price had risen by £400 from 2017 to 2018 but the house was in a worse state of repair. I dread to think how much it will be next year for a house that is becoming shabbier and shabbier by the week. Unfortunately it is also making us think twice about booking another property with CCH.

We had an amazing stay in this wonderful house.. The house was bigger than I expected with a large kitchen and living room; perfect for socialising. It provided a lovely space for us to enjoy a holiday with amazing views. The house is situated on top of a hill - this is something I love as you get a wonderful view of St Ives and can enjoy the different walks into the town. It’s nicely decorated throughout, had plenty of bathrooms - we had no trouble with 9 of us! Laundry facilities were useful as was the dishwasher. Nice tv in living room - handy for the World Cup! The oven however was tricky to use. We’d have liked a bit more info on recycling/waste disposal as each council is different. Overall fantastic and we would love to return!

We had a fantastic holiday.. The house was so well appointed, so spacious, so comfortable and suited our extended family of 3 generations perfectly. Already booked for next year!

The property was over rated in my opinion.. The second ensuite didn’t appear to be king size as stated. The whole of the property required maintenance. The plumbing was a real issue. I was disappointed all in all. The hill down to the beach is not suitable for anyone who isn’t extremely fit.. the bedding was ridiculously thick and heavy. The dining table was unhygienic as it was made from old poorly fitting planks of wood. The kitchen itself didn’t have a single empty cupboard to put food in and the rear utility area was so cluttered you couldn’t even get to the back door. I didn’t feel comfortable with the bathroom as it had a large window and no blind. Nice views from the front of the property but that’s about all. The parking for 2 vehicles would only work for 2 small vehicles also. Wouldn’t go back or recommend due to location and the above.
