Area Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival are all held in Penzance, one of Cornwall's most popular destinations for holidays. The coastline conceals a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves, as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. The National Trust's breathtakingly gorgeous St. Michael's Mount, with its hilltop fortress and Mediterranean gardens, is connected by a causeway to the sea at Marazion. When the tide is low, you can stroll over and then ride one of the ferry boats back. Penzance is the starting point for day cruises to the Isles of Scilly, and it has meandering alleyways, shops, bars, restaurants, and a picturesque harbour for guests to explore. The South West Coast Path, which travels through Penzance on its route to Land's End, winds along the clifftops, and is ideal for scenic walks, and along the way, pause in the lovely Lamorna Cove for a coffee and a rest, tour the outdoor Minack Theatre, and take in the cliff views as you get closer to Gwennap Head. Penzance is the ideal location for experiencing this country of Celtic lore and tradition, with so much on offer for guests to explore.
Region Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
