Holiday Rental Description

Holiday home
Chywolow Lodge is a Scandinavian style property in the tiny hamlet of Great Bosullow within 3 miles of Penzance. Far reaching countryside views and an incredible sense of space make this a fabulous rural retreat surrounded by beautiful moorland, Iron Age settlements and mysterious standing stones. Set on a seventy acre farm, the owners run a Rural Centre where you can meet ponies, chickens, chinchillas, chipmunks, rabbits and even tortoises. The lodge has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and can sleep eight people. Ideal for respite for those with limited mobility and wheelchair friendly. There is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting area, plus a garden room. Note: Two well-behaved dogs welcome at an additional charge of £20/pet.

Area
The most westerly major town in Cornwall, Penzance faces the shores of Mounts Bay, the famous St Michael's Mount rising from the sea in its centre. A bustling harbour town with quaint streets lined with shops and cafes and a promenade stretching towards the fishing port of Newlyn. Known for its mild year-round climate, palm trees and tropical plants thrive here and are best viewed at the beautiful sub tropical Morrab Gardens, close to the town centre. Popular with photographers, the art deco Jubilee seawater pool should not be missed for a dip in summer months. Home to the Georgian Theatre built around 1786, the theatre is thought to be one of the oldest Georgian theatres in the country. Golowan Festival is held in Penzance each June – a ten day festival with carnivals, music and dance. Penzance is an ideal base for exploring the far south west of Cornwall, with St Ives and Carbis bay a short drive.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Tired, tatty, scruffy and utterly remote. The whole property needs updating. We arrived and immediately had to start cleaning the outside furniture which was disgusting - bird mess everywhere. Furniture in lounge nothing like the photos on website - cushions dirty and kitchen windows wouldn’t open. Bedding poor quality and towels needed throwing in the bin. Broken fridge door and filthy oven.

4 of us have just spent an amazing time at this lodge. It was spotlessly clean, a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms a real home from home, was short of nothing. The cakes, biscuits ,tea and coffee where much appreciated. This is definatly off the beaten track and you would not be able to stay here without a car.But is definatly a brilliant base, After a day out you can relax at night on the swing or rocking chairs and look at the stars on a clear night, due to no light pollution. We were unable to switch the under floor heating off, so we called the owner and she was there in 5 minutes to sort it out. The views and walks where fabulous. We would highly recommend this beautiful lodge. 5

Very clean, good location.. We received a welcome pack on arrival which was a very nice surprise. The cabin was in a good location very central to explore from. The road to the cabin was very narrow so I was glad that we had a small car. There were some alpacas at the bottom of the garden which were very friendly and other animals in the centre which the kids could pet. Plenty of room in the cabin for socialising, the BBQ was a little small to cook on for 7 people. All in all a great place to stay.

The lodge was great.. It had so many different things left out for us to help such as dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, biscuits, a cake, tea and coffee so that we could move straight in. We only had one niggle and it was sorted out within minutes. Owners were lovely. we will definitely book again

This is off the beaten track but once you arrive it is stunning. 6 Adults and still plenty of room. It has a real log cabin feel but modern and luxurious. Attention to detail is amazing. It is the best equipped kitchen in a holiday let I have ever stayed in. Warm and cosy to return to after a day surfing in late September/October. Immaculately clean. Our Puppy loved the space and walks in the grounds, took him a while to get use to seeing Alpacas on his walk from the house. Him and me too! Welcome treats were wonderful and my Adults Sons much appreciated the Cakes.

The lodge was absolutely brilliant, nestled in the Cornish countryside.. Just one lodge on its own on the farm which belonged to the owners. The children were able to watch the llama's and donkeys being fed and visit the parrots rabbit's and chinchillas. What was remarkable is everything worked in the lodge w/machine dishwasher and tumble dryer, this was a boom with two young grandchildren. I would thoroughly recommend it and would definitely go again.
