Area Nestled between Newquay and Padstow on the beautiful north Cornish coast, Mawgan Porth is a sheltered cove with golden sandy beach, great surf and plenty of caves and coastal footpath to explore. With little distraction from its golden sands, life here revolves around the beach. Laze in the summer sun, learn to ride the waves, or watch over stormy seas on a refreshing cliff top stroll. Mawgan Porth is also home to the fabulous adults-only Scarlet Hotel, which offers Spa treatments and facilities to non-residents - and nearby Watergate Bay is the setting for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, which sits in a fantastic location just above the beach. Mawgan Porth has a handful of shops, including a village store and deli, and a farm shop selling locally sourced meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and pasties, as well as tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course overlooking the Atlantic.
Region Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

This is the second time we’ve visited as a group of college friends of 50 years. (Last time 2011). House has been updated and love the new colour scheme. Spacious accommodation and kitchen has everything you need for self catering. Even a separate wine fridge!!!
Great location for spending time on the beach (for me personally I had to take car as up and down hill is difficult for me). The others found it not a challenge and enjoyed some walks to Bedruthan Steps and Watergate Bay. Also accessible by flights (one of our party flew in from Newcastle). Day trips available to Padstow, Newquay & St Ives and open top bus was running. A great place to spend with a family or friends.
COVID requirements adhered to. Thank you all.

We were lucky enough to have a week holiday at Trelawns in 2018 too.. The only very minor comment would be to have two tea towels not just one, and two loo rolls per bathroom rather than the one each.
Trelawns was comfortable and worked well for our party. Jaynie checked we were ok on arrival
Thank you!

The position and accommodation suited our needs very well, so much so in fact that we have already rebooked for next year.. Our daughters, their partners and especially the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and are looking forward to next year. The beautiful beaches, many National Trust properties and tasty pasties provided all we needed

The central heating issue was addressed promptly.. The view is obscured partially by the Scarlet Hotel, it would have been good if this was made clear.

As we were a group of 8 adults and 2 children, our options are often limited .. Having looked at this property about a year before we actually went I was extremely happy with the help and advice offered by your Sykes customer service team . We were able to secure the property with a small deposit initially , refundable if we changed our plans ( definite bonus ) , with the final payment nearer the time . Communication was effective and prompt.
I was able to contact the property manager a few days before our holiday about requesting a cot and high chair along with key collection and arrival times .
On arrival the property was clean and welcoming and exactly as advertised. Well appointed with plenty of space for everyone. Views from the property are lovely, the beach is indeed a 5 minute walk away ! Opportunities to surf , or learn to , if you’re interested. The coastal walks are stunning, a definite must .
We also found some lovely places to eat out locally , when we didn’t feel like cooking. Would very happily recommend this property and Mawgan Porth, and hope to return in the future.

The house was so spacious, the views were lovely and the walks were good too.. There were plenty of places to visit either by walking, driving or using the bus.
The walk from the bay up to the house was fairly steep but good exercise.
We found everyone in the area so friendly and helpful and would certainly return to the area and the house.
