The cottage is spacious and well equipped .. There were slight problems with the TV on our first night. However after contact with the owner these were swifty addressed the next morning. We enjoyed a lovely and comfortable holiday in excellent accommodation . We hope to return next year, as this cottage and the owners have certainly met all our needs and expectations.

A lovely cottage, well equipped with a very pretty enclosed garden.. Ideal for us with our small dog. Parking was easy if you arrive early afternoon, before people finish work there was a space right opposite the house which made unloading and reloading so much easier. Lostwithiel itself is lovely, only has a few pubs, but the food in The globe, Earl of Chatham and The Kings Arms was really good. These were also dog friendly which suited us down to the ground. Some lovely walks along the river, up to the castle and through the Lanhydrock Estate to Bodmin parkway where we caught the train back. 5 minutes and you're back in Lostwithiel. A little gem.

April is a wonderful month to appreciate the rhododendrons at Heligan.. Our cottage was well situated for Heligan, Lanhydrock, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn, the harbour at Charlestown, to name just a few. Polkerris beach is delightful ! The garden at number 5 is delightful, enjoyed massively by children, dog and adults alike. I certainly recommend Sykes Cottages.

It was a great cottage very much enjoyed it was very good if you have dog's with a good size kitchen and safe enclosed garden only one thing would be a good idea to have a light near the back door or by the patio a bit dark when you walk back down the steps otherwise all good

Great location.. A lovely home away from home. Although the cottage was lovely and beautifully presented, we still felt comfortable enough to stay there with two dogs and 2 energetic boys without worrying they were going to destroy anything! The only issue is parking- which is what you would expect in this central location in a period property-we were fine parking a bit further up the hill and walking when needed, but my mum is registered disabled and it was a bit of a pain for her- but we got round it and it’s well worth it for the location. Absolutely beautiful cottage and very deceptive in space-large inside with a lovely garden area and views over the hills to the back of the house. 2 minute walk to lovely pubs, shops and riverside which has benches and public barbecues. Neighbours all friendly. We stayed as 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs and had plenty of room. Location great for days out to various beaches, Bodmin, Looe and Fowey as well as many other villages and towns. The Lostwithiel museum was great ( and free!) as was a visit to the local Restormel Castle. St Bartholomew’s church in the centre of the town is absolutely beautiful and steeped in history. We would definitely return- in fact we are missing it already! Great owners, fabulous friendly communication and fabulous housekeeping. Many thanks!

"Wow" is what we all said when we first saw how big the inside of the cottage was, how spacious, and how well equipped. The location - close to everything essential - in particular a pub, Chinese take-away, and Londis store, made this cottage an ideal base. The adverts says just one bathroom, but there was a toilet downstairs too, which with five of us was a blessing. We'd taken the dog too, and had wondered whether that would be a niusance, but it made us get out and explore the local area, and the early morning views when walking, either up the Restomel Road, or in the woods nearby were amazing. Lanhydrock isn't far away and that's a great walk too. Fran's Bakery sell amazing pasties, and the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery serves a great cream tea. Fowey is very picturesque too and is only a few minutes drive. During our long weekend, we walked miles, ate too much, drank too much, and had a great time. If we'd been in poor accommodation the whole weekend wouldn't have been anywhere near as good.

We did leave a note for the housekeeper, about the back door lock which was sticking and probably needs replacing, and the toaster was taking a long time so the bread dried out before it had any colour, but nothing that spoiled anything at all..

I think everybody in our party (of five) said "Wow! " when they saw the inside of the cottage. It was much bigger, more spacious, and better equipped than we expected. The locals were all friendly (didn't seem like we were still in England), and the location meant it was ideal for everything. Plus, there were some great dog-walks in the area. We'll be back.

We have just returned from a one week stay at this lovely, cosy, dog friendly and very clean character holiday cottage. It was everything we hoped for and is located only 2 mins walk to the centre of this small pretty historic town. We would certainly stay at 5 Bodmin Hill again not least because there is much more to do than could be fitted into our stay.

The cottage was really well equipped and was well situated for the village amenities and to visit the main attractions of this part of Cornwall. Our dog also enjoyed the garden very much.

When we entered No. 5 we were impressed with the clean spacious cottage. The housekeeper had left useful notes re refuse collection etc. and the owners welcome book was most useful, recommending places to eat, places to visit etc. No. 5 was very conveniently situated for shops especially for getting daily provisions. All in all we really enjoyed our week staying in No.5 and found it a great base for exploring the area.

We loved the cottage, and the garden was a bonus. All very clean and tidy for our arrival. The refurbishment and modernisation of the cottage is wonderful. The cottage is much bigger than it looks from the roadside. Lostwithiel is a lovely town, and very central for sightseeing.

Cottage was very cosy and comfortable. A secure garden for our dogs to play in and a nice outside seating area. The area was very quiet, a good central location.

The property was carefully refurbished and provided a good standard of accommodation. The contact from the owner beforehand was excellent and we felt that we were welcome guests. The cottage was roomy and especially the kitchen which was fitted out to a very good standard as well as being spotlessly clean.
