Area
A little village in Cornwall called Redruth has roots that go back as far as the 12th century. It is presently at the centre of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was formerly the epicentre of Cornish mining history. There are several stores, bars, and restaurants, and the town hosts numerous continental markets all year long. The Great Flat Load, which is great for cyclists and dog walkers both, the Tolgus Tin Stream Works, and the Tehidy Country Park are attractions close to Redruth. Redruth is 2.5 miles, or 10 minutes, from the beach in Portreath. With places like St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula, and the entire Lizard Peninsula within easy reach, the entire magnificent North coast is a suburban paradise for surfing and other watersports. An excellent location for your Cornish vacation.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

We had a lovely holiday in Cornwall and Cinders Loft was OK for a base but we were disappointed. Cinders loft is very homely and full of nik naks. The kitchen was well equipped, with a large fridge freezer and dishwasher. The utility and downstairs WC is a great addition. The dining area was great too. The living room area was tight for seating. The garden is excellent, probably the best part of the property. There's a downstairs bedroom with ensuit, but definitely needs some attention from maintenance (shower curtain falls down etc). Upstairs is a large bedroom with a freestanding bath. We were extremely dissappinted to find that this bedroom was not ensuit as advertised. There is a small double/twin room on the same level. In the loft area is a twin 'room', the beds do not fit an adult in nor can an adult stand up in the room, it shouldn't be classed as a room because the ceiling height is too low. Very steep steps for access too. Those 3 bedrooms share a small bathroom with walk in shower sink and toilet. We were disappointed with the property as it advertised 3 bathrooms when booking and this is not the case. The overall cleanliness was OK, but does need some attention, there was a horrible smell and eventually found it was out of date sauce in the cupboard. The BBQ had not been cleaned and was disgusting, but when we reported this, the owners offered the cleaner to come and rectify this. The driveway is also a bit of a nightmare, it's lose gravel on a hill so not easy to get up. Front door locks from the outside once closed, not ideal if no one picks up the keys. The owners were easy to contact and were very helpful when we needed help whilst visiting. The property didn't wow or impress, this is mainly because we were extremely disappointed with the false advertisement of the property. We wouldn't stay here again as there weren't the bathrooms advertised, the 4th bedroom is in our opinion unusable and there are no local pubs or resteraunts etc. Although it 'sleeps 8' it isn't big enough for this amount of people. Good hosts but property advertisement was false (we have since raised this) but believe it is not what we booked/ paid for.

Had the most amazing long weekend staying in Cinders loft! The house was beautifully done, well equipped, and such a great location to get to many of the different beaches along the coast. We went on loads of beautiful walks which were on the doorstep of the property and ate at some amazing restaurant/food recommendations from the owner! Highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Portreath and the surrounding Cornwall area!

We stayed at Cinders Loft this weekend, the house was perfect, 4 good sized double bedrooms with really comfy beds. Great living space and perfect large dining table for a group of friends/big family. The house was super clean and had all the amenities you could need. Great location with lovely walks and beaches close by. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
