Holiday Rental Description

Holiday home
Dale Cottage is a luxury self catering cottage ideally located in the heart of Crantock village. The property has recently been extended downstairs to create a large kitchen dining area. The three floored end of terrace has four bedrooms spread over two floors and separate dining and living rooms on the ground floor. The cottage was built in the 19th Century and has been renovated and beautifully finished with cleverly co-ordinated soft furnishings enhancing family efficient layout. The cottage exudes luxury and quality whilst having the character associated with the age of the property. There is a lovely bright, cosy and welcoming feel, offering something for everyone. Dale Cottage has an enclosed garden making it ideal for dog owners or parties with small children. Due to its central village location, you are never more than a five minute walk away from two pubs, the church of St Carantoc, the village shop (with post office) and other village attractions. As well as this, Crantock’s legendary sandy beach is only a short walk away, making the cottage ideal for families, walkers and surfers alike. Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

Area
Crantock is a small Cornish village set back from the coast close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the north to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Dale Cottage was fabulous, it was comfortable, clean, well equipped and home from home.. It’s location in the middle of the village waa great for the beach, the two village pubs, the shop and bus stop should you not want to walk. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely holiday and the cottage was perfect for our needs.. I met someone who was staying in another cottage, but had wanted to stay in Dale Cottage but was put off by a negative review. I feel the review was very unfair and I would certainly recommend the cottage! We will definitely return!

Charming and tasteful semi-detached cottage. Unusually spacious although the kitchen is a little cramped. No door on attic bedroom. Superb location for the best beach in the UK and pretty village centre with convenience store. A bit noisy in the morning due to being opposite the bus stop. Excellent wifi. Mobile phone reception almost non-existent but a land line is provided for guest use. Recycling arrangements are somewhat random. The two pubs are not great but there is a small cafe-restaurant opposite that is sometimes open in the evening. Parking outside is difficult so parking permits are provided for spaces about 5 minutes walk away. Overall, very pleasant and recommendable.

Dale cottage is as beautiful as the photos show. It is in the heart of the village, close to two pubs and walking distance to the famous Crantock beach. The good: Beautiful, very clean, large, 4 bedrooms, quiet location but a great spot to be for touring around all of Cornwall. WiFi is great! Laundry washer on site. Beautiful, peaceful backyard. Bathrooms are very clean and modern. Parking spot is secured for the cottage. Large fridge and the kitchen is well supplied to make meals for 6 people. Morrison's grocery store is very close which has everything one needs. The manager of the property, Tracey, was very friendly and helpful! Was able to stop by in minutes if we needed anything. The not-so-great: The furniture coverings are tired. A bit stained and in need of replacement. A couple of the cabinets in the kitchen have a damp smell when you open them. The cottage connected to us had dogs which is fine but my daughter had some trouble getting to sleep at night. We were on the top floor and didn't hear a thing but she did complain about noise from the dogs next door as she tried to go to sleep. This is a top-notch, family friendly cottage that was perfect for our vacation! I would come back and stay again in a heartbeat! Great value for money with this property.
