This is our second visit to Oaklands Cottage as we just love it. Set within a quiet and secure holiday park, it is a bright, clean and spacious cottage which our group delighted spending time in. From the master bedroom you can hear the sound of a babbling brook which runs through a farmer field behind the cottage along with the occasional mooing of cows. So relaxing and really makes you feel like you have left the city far behind. Our other trip was in winter and was just as enjoyable as we found it so cosy and welcoming. As this was a summer trip we enjoyed bbq’ing on the green surrounds of the cottage grounds. We had a wonderful holiday with a convenient location for exploring the many great sites and villages of Cornwall.

We stayed at Oaklands over the New Year and found that the cottage is perfectly positioned to be able to get to the popular tourist places - Padstow, Tintagel, Bude, etc. within easy reach, yet as it is in a quiet private complex you feel like you are in your own little world. The shower in the wet room is amazing - we all loved it. It's great to come back to a warm, clean and relaxing cottage after a bracing winter's walk on the beach. The cottage was exactly as described in the Sykes listing - very clean with everything we needed, and more. We had a great stay and plan to come back and will recommend to friends.

Loved the location and surrounding area. The cottage was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Everything was available you could possibly need for a lovely stay, a home away from home. Great wet room with an amazing shower. It was so relaxing listening to the stream at the bottom of the garden. The location is fantastic for exploring North Cornwall. We couldn’t have asked for more from the owners. We hope to return next year.

Comfortable lodge, but not sure it had been recently cleaned (oven, webs, tree debris), no toilet rolls, can opener not working.. Properties VERY close together so there is no privacy (photos are very deceiving), also the gardens are not fenced off, so had keep our pet on a lead to stop him from straying into neighbouring areas. No facilities within walking distance. Thankfully we had fabulous weather for the week we stayed, so went to different areas for the majority of our stay. Very disappointing for the money paid, and would not return.

The accommodation was easy to find and in a good location, the facilities provided were more than adequate (the down stairs shower room could do with a blind at the window) it looked as if one had been fitted but removed.. We would recommend this property it is very cosy and comfortable we had a great week, thank you.

When looking for a place to stay in the options I requested a secure garden.. On arrival I found the garden was open and had barded wire at the bottom so there was no way I could let my dogs out. This was a pain had to take the dogs out on lead to do their business. Also there was no mention that the property was on a site.other properties was really close so not much privacy I could see this could be a problem if it was summer and you wanted to sit in the garden. (There is no way you could see this from the photo's on the web site.) On arrival the upstairs double bedroom floor was covered with dead flies at least twenty-thirty so before we could unpack I needed to vacuum them up. the other rooms was clean so wondered if the property was checked on day of arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and couldn't fault the heating and hot water. One thing I did find strange was there was no surplus loo rolls with four adults and only one roll it each bathroom (not even full rolls) a visit to the nearest super market was priority. Location was good pretty central to most of the tourist places.

The apartment was well equipped and clean, very nice decor.. A good location for getting about. But sadly the photos had made the garden look much larger than it is, and it’s very overlooked - it’s in a holiday park which isn’t clear in the description in my view and they are crammed in. So eating outside meant looking at cars, or other houses. It’s just about ok for 6 people in terms of space but it’s not huge. The garden isn’t fenced in fully so dogs can’t be left outside. Sykes didn’t really listen when I said the photos are fish eye lens and don’t represent what’s really here, I was a bit frustrated. That said, it’s a nice place, we had a nice time, it’s very well equipped, very comfortable, but I’d review the photos so expectations aren’t raised - especially the garden. I’d have given a more positive review if I knew what I was getting - but wouldn’t have been my choice as I like more internal space, garden space and nice views.

Cabin whilst well equipped was a lot smaller than it appeared in the pictures on the listing.. There was no antenna signal for the television had we not had our own amazon fire stick with us there would have been little to entertain the children in the evenings. We did call the number of the cleaner and leave a message about the tv problem but did not receive a response. Whilst pets are allowed we found it not to be dog friendly as perimeter of the cabin is not secure and there was barb wire at the back over the bank leading down to the stream. Having two small dogs with us it was impossible to relax as there was no contained area and they often ended up wandering into the garden next door. Overall space was tight in the cabin for 6 people. Also all the cabins are very close to each other in proximity so you did feel uninvited guests at your neighbours BBQ
