Area The village of Cardinham in Mid Cornwall has a church and there's also a cafe in Cardinham Woods, a haven for cyclists and walkers situated just a few miles away. Bodmin, the one time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow.
Region Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

We stayed in this delightful cottage for a week. It had everything we needed, was extremely cosy and very peaceful. As the nights were chilly we lit the log burner most evenings which took seconds to get a good roaring fire.
The cottage is located in a convenient place for visiting so many attractive places. We absolutely loved everything about our stay and will definitely visit again.
Thank you to Carol for keeping everything so immaculate.

A lovely clean, pretty, well equipped cottage.. And beautiful gardens. The owners told us that they had replaced the mattress following a previous review about the uncomfortable bed and I have to say that we slept really well every night, the bed was very comfy. Plenty of tourist attractions within easy reach of the cottage I would certainly recommend it.

The cottage is very cosy and charming, and the housekeeper had ensured it was very clean.. However the furnishings are tired and the double bed was so uncomfortable my husband had to sleep in our campervan! A bigger bed and new mattress would make it a much happier holiday home to stay in, I couldn’t wait to get home to a comfortable bed.

I would highly recommend Westside cottage.. We had a very comfortable week with everything you need plus some more, tea, coffee, milk, box of chocolates all there for our arrival. Easy access to the main roads but set in a lovely rural position, saw deer in the woods beside the cottage can not fault it at all. Hope to return in the not too distant future

Stayed at Westside Cottage for a week and every time we drove up I thought again just how beautiful this property was.. Inside and out, this was a lovely place. It was immaculately clean and well stocked that went beyond the essentials. The locally made fudge was a welcome treat. Furniture and bedding were good quality and comfortable. All together, the experience was beyond that which we’ve normally found in a vacation rental. Highly recommend.

The cottage was probably the best we have booked, and we have had quite a few cottage breaks in the UK.. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family and in fact have already done so.
Many Thanks

I wanted something remote and quiet. This cottage was it. Spotless. Well done to Carol the housekeeper for a splendid job. Everything that is needed is there and more. I couldn't find anything bad to say about the cottage. I loved it so much I want to live in it.

A very comfortable cottage with everything provided and plenty of kitchen equipment.. There is plenty of storage space in the bedrooms and kitchen, useful when staying for some time.
The building is an old granite cottage, full of character, but there is no great view of the surrounding countryside. The beautiful garden would make up for this, but the rain and cold prevented us from using it!
The owners direct you in from the A38 to the south, but Cardinham is well-signed off the A30 to the north, which is a shorter route for most people.
A highly recommended cottage!

A delightful cottage with a lovely garden, absolutely spotless and comfortable throughout.. We spent a very pleasant week at Westside with the added bonus of good weather. We enjoyed watching the wildlife in the garden especially the cheeky squirrel who helped himself to the strawberries growing there!!

On arrival we could immediately see just how spotless the cottage was.. The kitchen was very well equipped with a good choice of electrical appliances to make life easy. Milk and a welcome box of chocolates had been left by the owners and there were canisters of tea, coffee and sugar to get us started. The living room contained a very comfortable settee and chairs and was very nicely appointed, letting in the sun, which made the room warm and cosy. Having two bathrooms made life easier for the three of us and they were both a good size, one having a shower cubicle and the other a bath with shower facility included. In fact the whole cottage was so comfortable we wished we had booked for two weeks instead of the one. The location of Westside Cottage was ideal for visiting the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House and Gardens, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and lots of quaint seaside towns on both coasts. There are 3 supermarkets only a short drive from the cottage in the town of Bodmin. The overall experience at Westside Cottage was brilliant and we would certainly stay there again should we visit Cornwall in the future.

It was a great cottage having all the mod cons we are so used to but retaining the old character of the place.. It was comfortable and quiet. A very relaxing place to chill out and near the great Cornish attractions. Some nice walks were also highlighted too. Very thoughtfully prepared.

The cottage was spacious, comfortable & very peaceful.. Lovely to be tucked away from the hustle & bustle of daily life, with wild rabbits & birds visiting daily, & close proximity to a number of gardens, & other interesting activities, it was an ideal base to stay.

A delightful cottage, cosy and comfortable, in a quiet and scenic location.. Great base for exploring both the South and North coasts of Cornwall, and very close to the most interesting walks on Bodmin moor. Highly recommended, particularly if you like peace and quiet. We rarely consider visiting the same place more than once but would happily stay here again as there is so much to see and do, with most of the things you would want to see in Cornwall an easy drive away.

The cottage was perfect, very well presented.. The actual location was not ideal for walking but that was not too much of a problem. The narrow Cornish lanes were quite an experience.
Overall excellent.

Getting into the drive can be a bit tricky.. Cardinham Woods and the National Trust house and estate are fantastic.
