A very special little cottage. Spotlessly clean, everything you could need, Robin has thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. After each day walking, we felt we were going home to a warm, cosy cottage Our dogs loved it and it was relaxing for us as there was an enclosed garden plus a kitchen area where we could keep them apart from living room when they were muddy and wet Especially loved the little touches , tea, coffee, choccie biscuits and fresh flowers Thoroughly recommend, enjoy everyone

I wish I had known that my dog was not allowed to go upstairs.. I had been assured that I could take car down to house but that turned out not to be the case. Mary

We had car trouble on the journey down and all week while we were there but that's enough of that .. When we arrived we were met by Robin and Fred his dog he made friends with our dog toby when we entered the cottage it was brilliant it had everything we needed Robin made us welcome from the start . we found it just as advertised immaculate with all mod cons as the week went on we had car troubles all week eventually having to hire car to come home. as a result my wife Glenis had to spend most of our holiday at the cottage with our dog toby whilst I was tripping off to spend half my day in garages . But this didn't stop us enjoying our stay, Robin was very helpful and helped us as much as possible, As a result we didn't see much of Cornwall it was because the cottage with all its grounds being such a good place to stay we still enjoyed what could have been a holiday nightmare. It will certainly be a holiday to remember we will certainly recommend this cottage as one of the best places we have visited . Our thanks to Robin and Fred for making us welcome . Richard and Glenis and Toby from Huddersfield.

We loved the property we stayed at, very dog friendly and ideally located for seeing all that Cornwall has to offer, whilst being sufficiently off the beaten track t feel like we were in an oasis of tranquility.. Robin and Fred were welcoming but never intrusive and made our dog (and us) incredibly welcome. Loved the finishing touches - milk and biscuits for our arrival along with some lovely flowers. Robin also passed us some of the goodies from his garden which were delicious. Someone has commented previously there is a dust track to the property, however we found no issues by simply driving slowly and staying to one side in our Punto. The drive to Bodmin and the main road network was about 10 minutes. We would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting an escape from the rat race, especially with the ideal location.

Impressed with the host Robin who was most helpful.. Only disadvantage was the poorly surfaced track leading to the property. Recommended for anyone who would like a quiet tranquil holiday.

The Old Engine House was situated in a most delightful location, it was comfortable, clean, and with the wood burner very cosy.. Robin (The owner) was most obliging and helpful, and his dog Fred was so friendly. The location was central to Cornwall and handy to reach either coast. Also for a very good Sunday lunch the Lanevit Inn was handy. We would highly recommend the Old Engine House to anyone, I am sure we will be there again. Tony & Kath Barnes, Kidderminster.

Had a fantastic week at the old engine house. This is a great place to stay for a visit to Cornwall. Ideally situated to explore both coasts. The cottage has a lovely relaxing feel and plenty of space. Has all you require for your stay. It's set in a lovely quiet location with the nearest beach twenty minutes away. The cottage is dog friendly and very clean. The owner Robin is a great host and nothing is to much trouble. You are welcomed each day by his very friendly accomplas Fred the black lab. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
