Private: beautiful garden (fenced). In the house: central heating system. Public parking on the road. Restaurant 200 m, bus stop, railway station, public bathing area 300 m. Walking paths from the house, cycle lane 30 m. Nearby attractions: Stift Melk 11 km, familienpark Hubhof 4 km, Naturpark Jauerling 7 km, Ruine Aggstein 23 m. Hiking paths: Wachau, Naturpark Jauerling. Please note: suitable for families. Additional accommodations can be booked. Property ref. AT3641.10.1/2/3 is situated on the same property. Beach volleyball is 300 m away. Danube river only 100 m away. The upper floor is sometimes occupied by the owner (separate entrance). A visit to Wachau is recommended, especially in the autumn during the apricot harvest.

The house is large, but very outdated and not clean. A two-burner stove and a mini oven are not suitable for a house that can accommodate 6 people. Wifi is occasionally received in the master bedroom. We did not see the key holder. Very unfortunate, because the house is located in a nice village.

Plus: Lots of space, 2 toilets, plenty of crockery Minus: Beds too short, no double bed, only 2 single beds pushed together, no blinds/opaque curtains (very bright street lighting), shower very small, shower wall not tight - you have to put towels on the floor place, there is no oven in the very small kitchen, only a mini oven, the bedroom is next to the street, so you can hear the traffic very loud from about 5 a.m. and you can only sleep with the window closed

The house is nicely furnished, and there are also many antiques. We replaced four defective lightbulbs, but couldn't get the TV with satellite receiver to work. Not all rooms can be darkened, especially the children's room. Toilet bowls should be replaced, are about 100 years old and no longer up to date. The kitchen does not have a fume hood, ventilation is only possible on the way to the house extension. Consequently there is no frying pan but oven.

Alte Post is a beautiful old house with thick walls, antique double windows and attractive rooms. The kitchen is small but everything you need is there. A small super XXX XXX XXX is just around the corner with helpful staff who give info on the area and provide a free walking map. It is wonderful to walk along the Danube and there are small and longer trails through the woods. Behind the house is a secluded garden with an old walnut tree, which is also a good place to relax.
