Such a lovely break at Pembridge Cottage! A cosy bolt hole and yet so convenient for Monmouth, Hereford and the Forest of Dean, Ledbury,Ross on Wye. Pembridge cottage sits alongside the main house and therefore you are not isolated. The host was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. All amenities and styled to be relaxed and comfortable, perfectly suiting the countryside surrounding the cottage. Our dogs were in paradise - so many squirrels and birds. A short stroll to the Norman Church where we saw a beautiful hare in the grounds. Would definitely return to this lovely place.

Pembridge cottage is set in the grounds of a lovely house with beautiful garden.. It has plenty of 'little extras' to make guests feel welcome. eg video players in lounge and bedroom with a supply of dvds, cds, books and games to name a few. It is a comfy cottage that is very easy to look after. Host is very pleasant and even posted items that i'd left in the wardrobe! I'd certainly stay here again and reccommend to friends.

We feel this is a lovely cottage with a lot of potential but felt a bit let down that the ensuite upstairs was below expectations for cleanliness which is not very acceptable.. The dirt on skirting boards, doors etc and around bottom of shower/bin etc wasn't very nice. We felt a bit of TLC needed to get it up to expectations. Sorry as lovely location . Wifi needs to be addressed too as unreliable.

We had an enjoyable stay, the owner was very helpful when needed and I feel had a good balance in communication.. Local walks could be quite challenging with a larger dog as stiles and gates on the footpaths were not always easy to negotiate! I booked via the internet but did not realise until after the 'cooling off' period that I had purchased the insurance which I did not require. I feel it was not clear enough in the booking process so please can you make it more prominent. Thank you.

The cottage is nicely positioned in the garden of Pembridge House in quiet surroundings.. It is quite well equipped with most things that you would need. There is one error in the notes regarding the fridge, it DOES have an ice box! This was our second stay in the cottage and we enjoyed it as much as the first time.

Perfect stopping point for the final (southerly) stages of the Offa's Dyke path as relatively easy access to Monmouth and path finish at Chepstow. Me, my Mum and her friend did this section in two days and Pembridge cottage was perfect. Hardwood and stone floors, comfy furniture, lovely beds (for the two-leggers - I brought my own). Washing machine and tumble dryer as well. Best bit for me was that a previous dog had left a chew under the bed! Good local walking on the cottage owners land and a big garden (un-gated from road though). Cottage owner was lovely and took my Dad fly fishing which he, evidently, thought was wonderful. No fish tea for me though ......

This is a lovely cottage but in need of a good Spring clean, routine maintenance and a coat of paint. There were dead flies behind the venitian blinds and cob webs everywhere. The toilets and wash basins were clean enough but the bath room floors and skirting boards very dirty. The beds were comfortable but there was black mould inside the upstairs bedroom window and the leak in the roof needs a permanent fix.

This cottage had everything we needed. Big garden which was great for the dogs. WiFi, comfy beds and well equipped. Lovely woods nearby to walk the dogs. Symonds Yat only 10 minutes away with lovely walks along the Wye and good food and drink. Hereford only 20 mins away and Monmouth only 5 minutes.

We loved the location - central to all we wanted to do and quiet and peaceful. The garden is delightful - pretty and relaxing with plenty of fruit trees to scrimp and enjoy. The cottage itself is delightful, comfortable and well equipped. Although it is next to the main house - it was private. Our hostess was lovely and welcoming and just left us to use the cottage as our own home.

A fantastic holiday! Enjoyed by both myself and my wife. The standard of this accommodation is VERY high, there is nothing lacking in utilities. A very easy going, peaceful, enjoyable holiday. The setting is fantastic, everywhere is easy to get to and the local people are very friendly with a few characters thrown in for good measure. The owner is a brilliant person, a pleasure to have met and to know.

It was the first time we had spent Christmas in a cottage, and we were a little nervous. But the cottage was cosy, well equipped and homely, and the owner was very welcoming. The kitchen was very well equipped and managed all our Christmas cooking very well. The situation is great, lots of lovely walking nearby. Overall very restful and we would definitely do it again!

August 2013
The owner has provided everything you could possibly need for your stay. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped for both practical and entertainment requirements. The maps and pamphlets provided are a nice touch and very useful for planning a day out. The cottage is ideally located for sightseeing on both sides of the England /Wales border. Symonds Yat, The Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are all within easy reach. The steam railways in Brecon and FOD were of particular interest. Overall a very enjoyable week. We would definitely recommend the area and cottage to others looking to come this way. If you like walking, cycling and have dogs you've come to the right place.

First there's the drive up the Wye Valley. Then up to the wood to exercise the dog - and you can see the whole of England and Wales, or so it seems. The cottage is nicely basic (which is what we wanted) and the grounds and the owners very pleasant. The window blinds stick in the memory as being quite a challenge.
Ms Ellis
June 2013
The owner was lovely, very welcoming and friendly and was pleased to see our dogs so we felt right at home. The cottage location within the boundary of Pembridge House was wonderful and the cottage garden was so pretty and private and peaceful. It is situated in a lovely quiet area. There were lovely walks for the dogs and so many places to go and visit within comfortable driving distance of the cottage. All in all a fabulous holiday and I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
