The location for us was ideal, as we have family in Hedon.. It gives easy access to Beverly, (market days Wednesday and Saturday), and Hull, (check out The Deep and the museums). We were able to have an extended family bbq afternoon with 11 people because of the ample space, lots of crockery etc. an excellent kitchen, a big bbq and outside furniture for all of us. It has space for the children to run around and play football, although there was fun retrieving the ball from the ditch several times! Owl cottage is off the road; I read a comment about the traffic, but we found no problem with noise. Yes, when you are sat outside you can hear everything, but other than short commuter times, this was the occasional tractor and empty buses. The accommodation is disabled friendly but not built for the disabled, (it doesn’t claim to be either), but if you make the owners aware they will provide a seat for the downstairs wet room shower, (which by the way, was excellent), and they provide a movable suction grip, which can be used to help the infirm in the bathroom. There are one or two minor things able bodied people don’t always see, but I have pointed them out to the owners. If you have anyone partially sighted the three small steps for the area outside the back door can be difficult to distinguish. However, don’t let this put you off. My parents are 88 & 82 and they loved the place and found it very friendly for the unsure on foot. My severely autistic nephew loved the freedom of the paddock to kick his ball around, and the two resident adults and five family members who visited at various times all enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and being able to sit out and watch the buzzards and kites.
