Absolutely fabulous property in over 10 acres looking across to the sea. The property was just perfect for three families of three generations. There is an enormous amount of land for children to play safely. The property is gated and adds extra security especially with children playing. The property itself has everything you need for a family holiday including a washing machine and a dishwasher (nice for the wife!). The character of the property is amazing with much of the ‘old chapel’ still evident but has also been upgraded with modern appliances and furniture. The property is ideally situated with access to lots of beeches nearby, and we were spoilt for choice for local restaurants. Our three families eat in three different restaurants over our week there and all were found to be first class. Any holiday here would be a holiday to remember- and all for the right reasons. I’m sure that we will return again in the very near future.

We stayed here a few years ago and we had a great time.Due to obvious restrictions in recent times we haven’t had an opportunity to return until now ,at the time of writing this review we are actually staying in the chapel. The ambience and setting is still amazing the whole calming experience of being here is well worth a visit, the views over the bay are outstanding. It’s position just off the main Atlantic highway makes it a perfect base to visit all parts of the north Devon coast and countryside as well as some great pubs and tea rooms. The chapel has everything needed for a family or friends get together and is well worth a visit!

When we arrived, the property had not been properly cleaned. The kitchen in particular was too dirty for us to feel comfortable using it. In times of Covid this is just not good enough. We only stayed for a matter of hours then returned home. Despite this, the owner is taking no responsibility and has refused us any refund. The property is advertised as having Wifi but it is too slow to be of any use. It is supposed to be a 5 star property but its cleanliness clearly is not.

The cottage is listed as 4 beds 4 bathrooms this is incorrect there are only 3 bathrooms, two en suite on the second floor, and one for the two bedrooms on the third floor.. There is also a down stairs toilet off the utility, but that is all it is, definitely not a fourth bathroom. Also the top floor bathroom is a cold water fed electric shower that when it works is very good, but if used multiple times, i.e. with both top bedrooms occupied it fails with a low flow indication and this is without other bathrooms in use. We reverted to sharing en suite bathrooms. Apart from the above the property is very nicely appointed and of interesting design, and overall I enjoyed my visit. I would not however use again as no walking is possible from the property due to its situation on a narrow Cornish style lane without footpath or a means of escape in the event of two way traffic. If you accept driving everywhere it is in an isolated location with great views and a sizeable plot. If you could only walk into the woods at the bottom of their fields without being shot it would be great. (Warnings of game shooting exist)

This was our second 3-generation holiday at The Old Chapel and it was another wonderful experience.. The cottage is so spacious and well equipped...not just in the kitchen, but also with an extensive library of books, DVDs and toys/games. Luckily the weather was superb, so we really enjoyed using the huge garden for football, rounders and kite-flying after our days out. The property is so well situated, with so many beaches and attractions within a 20 minute drive, and The Milky Way and Clovelly village are only about 2 miles away.

Absolutely amazing place.. We stayed there 7 of us... a family of 3 and a family of 4. Fabulous views. Very spacious. Everything there that was needed (but not a mop as we found out when we dropped a bottle of wine on the kitchen floor) We all had a fabulous holiday there, it's central for lots of places to see.. Clovelly village, heartland quay, bude, bideford, westward ho, Appledore, Tintagel to name a few places we visited. I would definitely stay here again.

The accommodation was excellent and very clean with many facilities - very impressed with extras such as binoculars! Unless I overlooked it, I couldn't fine a sun umbrella to go with the garden furniture which, considering the very hot weather, made sitting outside a little uncomfortable. I also felt that the access to the village should be explained more clearly. I was well aware that Clovelly village was 1 mile away which, we thought, wouldn't be a problem walking down to it, but it wasn't explained that this could only be done in a car as the road was far too dangerous to walk with no path. As we shared two hire cars between 6 adults this meant that we had to rely on the 2 named drivers and could not walk on our own. I am sure we are not the first to experience this. I must emphasise the accommodation was first class but feel that not having to solely rely on a motor vehicle adds to the enjoyment of a holiday.

A wonderful chapel conversion.. We had a proper family holiday ( four generations) and there was plenty of room for all of us. The garden was lovely for our granddaughter to play in. We found lots of great places to go to during the day ie RHS Rosemoor, and lots of places to eat in the evening. Would definitely recommend it.

A totally stunning property with the most idyllic setting! A total wow! 7 of us stayed here and it was beyond our expectations- such a beautiful property and a wee welcome pack of scones, jam, cream and wine. A place if money allowed, you’d wanna live in forever! Thank you.

I cannot recommend The Old Chapel enough. The views from the property are outstanding. It is beautifully set out, spacious and very well equipped. The decoration and quality of the property is excellent and there is masses of room for eight people. There was a welcome pack consisting of a bottle of wine, scones, jam & cream and a box of chocolates. When we walked through the the front door the place felt just like home, a great place to holiday with family or friends.

This was a superb property, very well located to explore the many attractions of North Devon.. Very spacious, with plenty of room for the three generations of our family. We had a wonderful half term break and would love to return in the future. We were extremely lucky with the October weather and were out and about every day...although even the little ones looked forward to returning to the cosiness of our "holiday house"! All ages enjoyed the quaintness of Clovelly village, the fun at the Milky Way Adventure Park, the stunning coastal scenery at Hartland Quay and the more bustling seaside resort of Westward Ho! We had some lovely lunches out at the Hoops Inn and the Pierhouse, and have never seen such impressive Hallowe'en decorations than at The Thatched Inn, Abbotsham. All facilities were as promised and the welcome gifts of wine, chocolates and scones (complete with Jam and clotted cream) went down a treat.

Old Chapel is a wonderful property, very spacious and in excellent condition. It enables a relaxing and enjoyable holiday to be had by all. It is better in real life than it looks in the pictures and was perfect for the two families of 4 in our party.

An excellent spacious property for the 4 adults in our party. The cottage is ideally based for exploring North Devon with spacious grounds and lovely views of the countryside sea. The cottage was clean and welcoming with lots of nice comfy sofas to relax on at the end of a tiring day sightseeing, and with a well equipped kitchen should you wish to self cater. A highly recommended property.
