Property Description

Holiday home
Offshore is a gem of a self-catering cottage, just a few minutes' walk out of Crantock in North Cornwall and sleeping up to eight, making it the perfect base for a family getaway. The four-bedroom cottage is based on a quiet residential road, making it a safe haven for families with children. Whilst tucked away, the cottage is less than a ten-minute walk from the centre of the village, where you will find two pubs, a local store and other attractions. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Crantock’s large, sandy beach, meaning you are never too far from the sea or the water’s edge - ideal for surfers! Offshore is semi-detached and deceptively large cottage with a bright feel to it. Each of the four bedrooms has an assigned colour theme with a modern, feel-good energy created by the natural light pouring through the many windows. As a relatively newly built cottage, its spacious layout makes for easy, safe, fun living, and with the added bonus of a fully enclosed garden, children are free to explore leaving the parents to kick back and relax! The sitting room includes comfortable seating and a wall mounted, flame-effect electric fire - the perfect room to spend time with the family. The kitchen and dining areas are well-equipped, including a dining table for family meals. Step outside the property and you'll find a fully enclosed garden, ideal for dog owners, including a pebbled seating area for guests to relax and enjoy.

Area
Crantock is a small Cornish village, set back from the coast, close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the North to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Offshore is comfortable and well equipped.. It has been tastefully decorated and is in a fabulous location. On sunny days the garden is sheltered and private and a great space to relax in. We had a great week and will certainly be back.

This property was very good, we did pick this particular cottage because it had a downstairs bedroom and we had an older couple with us.. However there was little room for them to get in and out of bed so perhaps twin beds would be a better option in this room. Overall the standard of accommodation was very good, local people very friendly. It is well worth mentioning the xmas lights in the village as well as having them up in the cottage was a lovely added bonus.

This was a late booking and consequently I thought there may have been last minute hitches, but are glad to report that everything went smoothly.. The property (Offshore) is a gem, it had everything we could possibly wish for and although we did not cook a single meal whilst we were there, the facilities were superb and there was not a thing we could think of that not been supplied. The accommodation was in a quiet vicinity but close enough to all amenities you could wish for. Thanks to the staff at Sykes for there help in all matters, this was the first time we have used this company but will certainly not be the last.

This is our third stay at Offshore and it is a really great cottage for a family holiday.. The cottage is well equipped for a self catering stay having plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, utensils etc. There is also a washer, dryer and dishwasher so there is everything you need for your stay. We had three couples in our party and found the sleeping arrangements perfect for us - 2 good doubles, one en suite and one family bathroom upstairs, plus another double and a cloakroom downstairs. There is a fourth bedroom upstairs which was made up as a double but can also be a twin. There is a good amount of storage in most of the bedrooms. Only the downstairs bedroom seems to lack hanging space but this didn’t cause any issues for us. So Offshore works well for a number of groups. The lounge is spacious with 2 settles and 2 armchairs and has sliding doors to the garden. The garden is fully enclosed so it’s great for anyone with dogs like us, as we knew they were secure. The house is located a short walk from the village shop and pubs and of course the beach. There is space on the drive for 2 cars - a real bonus in Crantock. The village is only small but has 2 pubs, a tea room and village shop which is well stocked. The shop is also a post office. The beach is beautiful and you can even walk to Newquay from here. A perfect base for visiting North Cornwall. We have already booked for 2019 so that says it all really.

Offshore is a fabulous holiday home.. It is very well equipped, spacious and has a lovely homely feel. All the rooms are light and bright and the quality of the fittings excellent. It's a very comfortable house with a large living room and dining kitchen. The garden is a good size and completely enclosed so ideal for our dogs. The location is great too, only a few minutes into the village or down to the beach. With 3 good sized bedrooms, one with en suite it is an ideal choice for a family or couples. We loved Offshore and have already booked to return with the family in June!

We have just spent a wonderful weeks family holiday at Offshore, this is our second time staying here and everything was excellent as it was before, really great house, with everything you need to make your stay perfect.. I would also, recommend a take away treat from the Treago farm Camp site shop, in Crantock, the food is great and so are the prices, when you have had a day on the beautiful Crantock beach and don\'t feel like cooking, pay them a visit, you won\'t be disappointed. We have already booked to stay in Crantock next year with you, this time at the Blacksmiths and i know we will be just as happy there, as we were in Offshore, your care towards your customers, as well as your properties, is second to none, wouldn't book with anyone else.

This was our third or fourth stay at Offshore and hopefully it won't be our last.. The house is light, bright and spotlessly clean with wonderfully comfortable beds and linens and a glorious drench shower in the en-suite bathroom. Always sad to leave at the end of our holidays but already looking forward to our next break in this lovely village.

Offshore is the perfect rental property in a stunning location. The attention to detail taken with furnishing the house is fantastic. Appliances are of superior quality throughout, and the whole house is light, airy and welcoming. We sat 8 easily around the dining table in the roomy kitchen/diner. The bathrooms are far superior to those normally found in a rental property. The back garden is totally enclosed, which is a real bonus for those with small children. Crantock is the ideal location for exploring the north Cornwall coastal beaches and walks.

We had an fantastic time staying at Offshore, this was a family holiday with fairly young children and we could not have been more comfortable staying in this house and using it to access Crantock and other beaches. The house is beautifully decorated with a light feel and is finished to a really high standard with an amazing walk-in shower, there's also a hot outdoor shower that was so useful coming back from the beach in wetsuits. Crantock is a really nice village, we spent a lot of time on the beach which was fantastic and great for bodyboarding and even has a lifeguard station on the river that runs into the beach which is a lovely safe spot for really young children to splash about in and play in the sand. We were also able to walk to a nice playground from the house all along very quiet residential roads. There was another very specific reason why Offshore worked for us, which is that it was completely secure. This is particularly important for us as my youngest daughter is autistic and sometimes she lets herself of a door and wanders off, all exits within Offshore can be locked from the inside and you can leave the patio door to the garden open with the garden gate locked so she enjoyed free access to the house and garden without us having to constantly check that she had not gone out of the door. We were so pleased with this property for our holiday, an added bonus was some spectacular sunsets from the master bedroom window.
