Owners are really friendly, they went above my expectations for providing little extras to settle in, the cleanest cottage we have been in.. We will definitely go back.

April 2019
On arrival the owners met us they were very friendly and scones cream and jam went down really well with a cup of tea after a long drive, the cottage was about the most equipped that we have had, home from home, very warm, walks from the cottage and mountain biking, excellent location for exploring north Snowdonia, only took 30 minutes to drive to Conwy, about the same for the Glyders, close to Betws-y-Coed, lots of take always in Llanrwst we will definitely be back. I had to drag my husband away at the end of our stay otherwise he would have been talking with the owner all day.

This is truly a beautiful stone cottage in the forest with superb waterfalls just off the garden! Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We were blessed with gorgeous weather whilst there which was a huge bonus. Lovely and quiet with no neighbours, which was ideal with our very noisy grandchildren! Would love to go back some time. We all loved it.

Nant Cottage is a very comfortable, large and well equipped cottage with many original features.. The TV and wi-fi both work well and there is a DVD player but we were unable to get a phone signal. The gardens are well maintained and lovely to sit in on a sunny day. For when it is chilly in the evenings, there is a log burner which comes with a supply of kindling and logs to last the week. The cottage is pleasantly situated in forest near to a number of mountain biking trails and pleasant walks. There is an impressive waterfall on the doorstep. The local town is a few minutes away and has a fair sized Co-op supermarket with free parking for all your grocery needs. The cottage is also within easy driving distance of all North Wales attractions. I couldn't recommend it more for a tranquil and enjoyable vacation,

We enjoyed the cottage , however the stairs are a problem for the elderly but we survived.. The beds were on the hard side and the shower was problem to shut off, otherwise it was spotlessly clean , warm , well equipped and enjoyable.

Nant Cottage is stunning! !! It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and the owners were there to welcome us and show us around. They also left us a cream tea which was very kind and much appreciated after a long drive. It is a very comfortable cottage and has everything you could possibly need there including lots of cleaning products which a lot of other cottages don't leave. I highly recommend Nant Cottage to anyone who wants that extra special holiday cottage with the wow factor!!

Great cottage with all the little things added, great attention to detail, better than it looks in the photos.. Many walks right on the doorstep, interesting villages close by, would like to go again in the winter to cosy up in front of the fire.

The pictures for the cottage did not do it justice,It was enchanting! ! We lay in bed listening to the birds and waterfalls, which were literally right outside the door. Well worth the very short walk to look at. Close to many walks, you can walk from the front door through amazing forests and hills. We did two mountains while we were there,Moel Siabod and Snowdon as we didn't finish it on a previous visit. Deep snow on top but a clear sunny day.Well worth the hike. The cottage has it's own heartbeat that envelopes you in a very warm, squishy hug. The little noises in the attic makes it even more amazing as you know how close you are to nature. We had our almost adult children with us and they were blown away by the age and feel of the house.Would recommend it to anyone looking for complete rest and relaxation or you can use it as a base for many extreme activities.Great bike tracks start right opposite.

This was a beautiful located cottage away from the beaten track, also it is perfectly located to visit North Wales. However, when I go on holiday I like anonymity, one of the reasons for booking self catering cottages. We were a little late due to a trip to minor injuries, however the owners were still at the cottage at 5 O'clock getting it ready for our arrival. Although the scones were a lovely touch, I didn't think we needed to have a tour of the cottage and explanations on how their electrical equipment worked, I find investigating the cottage part of the holiday and rather fun. Not having a key box is ludicrous, there should be one! With a sigh we sat down and tried to drink in the ambience of the cottage - were here at last, but we were not alone for long as the owner felt it necessary to come back into the cottage to explain how the shower worked, REALLY! On her departure I made sure the door was locked .It would be a good idea for an information booklet to be made with all the pertinent information in it, as this is our experience with other cottages we have stayed in, which have been many. I agree with previous holiday makers about the very dated kitchenware and bathroom (I never thought I would see an avocado bathroom suite this side of the eighties) I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. I had to wash pots as there was still food stuck on some of the plates, and the painted wood work was very dirty, there was damp coming through more each day in one of the bedrooms, however to top it all I was disgusted to find blood on the toilet seat. We left early as the noise from the water in any format made dreadful noises waking up other visitors who stayed with us and the shower as such we had to queue to use it. I am sure a separate shower room could be made as well as the bathroom, as the cottage boasts it is for 6 guests.

Having read previous reviews and looked at the pictures we were fairly confident that it was going to be good accomodation however no words can really describe the cosiness, homeliness, uniqueness and quirkiness of this 400 year old abode. This is like going back in time but with the essentials you need plus some luxuries eg the dishwasher. There was no signal and couldn't connect to WiFi but hey, we wanted to get away from it all so no complaints there. Inside it was a delight to explore the place, the two spiral staircases, the extra sitting room, the secret garden all just lovely. Kathy and Adrian are lovely owners who have provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. The cream tea set out on arrival was an extra treat after a 4 hour journey. We fell in love with this place as most visitors do and our only disappointment was that it's booked up for the whole of the summer so our 2nd visit will have to wait!

We will be coming back asap .

The location of Nant Cottage was fantastic, in the heart of North Wales. Walking, cycling and general tourist travel are made easy when staying at this cottage. The ambience of the cottage is superb , it gives one a feel of total relaxation . Wild life visits you on the very doorstep , there is a beautiful waterfall within 5 minute walk . 10 out of 10!

A lovely, comfortable cottage on its own in the forest by a waterfall. Friendly owners; nothing too much trouble. When we booked we expected something a little special but this place is the stuff of dreams. We will definitely be going again. A truly beautiful place.

We stayed here in July 2015, 4 adults and an 8 year old. First impressions were stunning, the cottage definately has the wow factor from the outside. Set in a lovely location which some people may find a little isolated. Plenty of parking in gated driveway. For us inside was very dark (obviously to be expected with its age/ thickness of walls etc) we found we needed the light on all the time. The bathroom definately needed a revamp and the shower curtain would be better replaced with a screen. We found the far end of the building to smell very damp and felt cold, with us having to put the heating on in the summer. The little twin room had the strongest smell of damp and some mould on the back of the curtains. Should also be pointed out if your mobility is slightly impaired you could struggle with the spirally staircase with rope style banister and also the concrete steps linking lounge and kitchen. The cottage was clean and the owners welcome lovely (they left us scones, fresh cream and jam) which was a lovely touch. I'm sure as previous reviews state this is a good cottage just wasn't for us. My in-laws went home 3 days into our stay and we left 2 days early as we just couldn't relax here (either bats or mice in the loft).

Breathtaking cottage and views in the surrounding area. Lots to do on the doorstep with everything you could want only a couple of miles away. Everything about this holiday went smoothly and would certainly not hesitate using Sykes and Nant Cottage in the very near future.

July 2015
This was a 'proper' cottage! The size, shape, layout and décor both inside and out were all one would hope a cottage to be. The location was perfect. Surrounded by trees and with a nearby waterfall, it felt as though we were in remote countryside, yet with Llanrwst only 5 minutes away. Everything in and around the cottage was well presented and obviously cared for by its owners.

June 2015
We thought our last cottage choice in the Gwydir Forest was unbeatable, and were naturally disappointed when it was not available for this trip. Were very fortunate in finding Nant Cottage which has now taken over the top spot of any cottage we have had in Wales, not just the North! Others have described its charms and characteristics very well and we can only echo their sentiments. In particular, we were extremely impressed with the skill and attention that the owners - Kathy and Adrian - have put into the renovation and maintenance of this property - words and pictures barely convey the excellence of the structure and its appealing gardens. Given it's location just outside Llanrwst, it is a perfect base to experience the wonders of Snowdonia and much of North Wales. Sometimes we almost felt guilty leaving in the morning to explore - we don't like to just sit around, but it would be very satisfying at this cottage - in the garden, just listening to the waterfall and stream. Highly, highly recommended.

Lovely cottage and fabulous location if you like seclusion, yet not far from town if required. Had all modern amenities whilst retaining its rustic charm. Our second visit and will be back again.

March 2015
Nant Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location was the perfect place for us get away for a few days and relax after our wedding. Nant Hall has been very well looked after and we soon found ourselves calling it 'home'. We loved it and will definitely be back for a whole week as possible.

February 2015
A lovely cottage, with everything we could need, it had a really homely feel and was very cozy despite the freezing temperatures outside. The area was beautiful and there was so much to do within close proximity. We had a lovely welcome from the owner who greeted us with scones, and put milk in the fridge for us, a thoughtful touch, she gave us her number if we needed anything (we didn't) and then left us in peace to enjoy our break. Thoroughly recommended and will definitely return.

February 2015
Booked this trip to celebrate parents Birthday and thought it'd be a nice weekend break for our family of 5. We stayed there for 3 Days & 2 Nights. The Cottage was easy enough to find during the day (at night it is literally pitch black so the cottage would be easily missed). We left a voice mail for the owners as to what time we'd be arriving as per their instructions. When we got there we were met by a lovely couple, who were welcoming and showed us around the house and told us a little about what there is around the area and what to avoid etc. We settled in nicely. The house looked amazing inside and out. The whole house is as cosy as it gets. We also used the fireplace which warmed up the house nicely. Rooms were of good size...the only strange thing was is that the twin room that me and my sister stayed in was colder than anywhere else in the house, but the extra blankets provided helped with that! The kitchen came with everything you need. The lovely lady even made some scones to welcome their guests, which was delicious! They even provided milk and butter. There is also WIFI but it isn't as strong upstairs as it is down stairs and there is also no phone signal inside or outside the house, although there is a payphone in the house if needed. It takes around 20 minutes to get to snowdon and around half an hour to go to caernarfon, this cottage is also next to a trail walk, so if you have dogs or like to have morning runs, cycling or hikes even then this is perfect! Overall we all enjoyed this amazing cottage holiday and would stay here again in the future.

January 2015
The cottage was picture perfect, a gorgeous house in a beautiful spot. A real holiday to remember with the wood burner, character rooms and a waterfall at the bottom of the garden. What more could you ask. So peaceful and yet near enough to the places to visit.

This is the second time that we have stayed at Nant Cottage. What a fantastic, romantic building. The owners obviously upkeep this building as if it was their own home. We could not find any fault, simply wish we could afford to purchase the property due to its excellent location and warm, homely feeling. Very comfortable, everything working there was plenty of crockery/cutlery for all. We always talk about our experience at Nant as one of the best exclusive getaways we have ever experienced.

A warm, welcoming cottage set in the most stunning surroundings. The cottage provided the most perfect location for our Christmas providing all we needed and extra treats. We enjoyed the fantastic walking and cycling from our back door.

November 2014
For me as a walker the location was ideal as it placed me within short drives of many hills and mountains. The location was quiet without being too remote. The property was warm and comfortable as were the beds plus plenty of hot water and a good shower. The welcome from the owners was warm and helpful, the cream scones went down well!

We wanted 'something special' to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This beautiful cottage and area did not disappoint! Indeed, both exceeded our expectations! The wonderful character of the cottage was equaled to the attention to detail in its decor and provisions. After a 7 hour drive to reach Nant Cottage, the lovely Cream Tea left for our arrival was very well received and enjoyed. All bedrooms homed very comfortable, and beautifully laundered beds. Both the living area and Drawing Room had cozy, comfortable sofas, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. All in all, a lovely place to relax in. Adjoining the property, the river and waterfalls offered the most relaxing audio to complete the idealistic setting. Loads of opportunities for spectacular walks and drives - amazing scenery in abundance. We splashed out at The Ty Gwyn Coaching Inn for our anniversary meal. The food was amazing, the service was friendly, but inexperience left a little to be desired. The tea room covered by ivy at the bottom of the road was amazing too! ZipWorld and Go Below were big hits with our teenage+ children, as too were the Swallow Falls and the many photographic opportunities around the area. A relatively large Co-op is minutes away, so although you have the advantage of feeling like you're totally away from it all, you are also only a short drive away from all your essentials. In a nutshell - if you're looking for a cottage to fall in love with, in an area of outstanding beauty, Nant Cottage may just be the answer (it was for us!). The 'Munns' (Aged 61, 49, 23, 20 & 18)

We LOVED this cottage. Although we stayed in Wales for 2 weeks, we only stayed here for the first week and wished we had stayed the entire time. Not only does the property have a large living room/dining room, it also had another family (reading room). The location was very pretty and there was even a waterfall (Grey Mare's Tail) practically in the backyard!
Mr Robson

The cottage is a lovely old established stone cottage. It was very nice, very scenic and very secluded. Perfect for a private holiday.

January 2014
The surrounding area is stunning; there is so much to do right on the doorstep. The amenities in the cottage are perfect, everything you need to cook substantial family meals including a roast dinner are provided. The furniture, TV and WiFi were all excellent! The complimentary cream tea and chocolates were a lovely surprise. Our boys loved the stream across the road and the waterfall in the back garden is just amazing. I didn't want to leave the cottage and gardens!

September 2013
A really comfortable, cosy place to stay, away from the pace of modern life. Totally relaxing, it gives you the chance to have the holiday of your choice in North Wales. We travelled to Llandudno, Llanberis, Caernarfon, Bala, Porthmadog, Blaenau Festiniog, Beddgelert, through fantastic scenery and with ease. Its setting deep in the woods with the sound of the waterfall is completely idyllic, and the log fire in the evening makes a stress free end to perfect days.
Mr Harper
September 2013
Excellent weather providing great opportunities to sample the best of Snowdonia. The ascent of Snowdon via the Ranger path on a glorious summers day was a particular highlight for the children. The Ffestiniog railway along with Great Orme/LLandudno, Portmerion, high ropes courses and zorbing kept the kids occupied throughout the days, and excellent pub food topped it all off in the evenings. The old stag in LLangernyw, and the Stables bar in picturesque Betws-y-coed provided good value nourishment. On top of all this an idyllic cottage on the edge of Gwydir forest park provided a tremendous setting to what we all agreed was probably the best family holiday we have all had.
Mr Bosworth

The cottage was very isolated which was a big bonus for a relaxing holiday. Plenty of parking provision. Well equipped. Cosy, comfy and welcoming.

I loved every aspect of Nant Cottage, it is as comfortable inside as it is attractive from the exterior, warm, cosy and very well equipped. The location on the edge of the Gwydir Forest suited me perfectly, a few minutes from the back door and one has a variety of forest trails to walk and a short car journey will take you to many of the local attractions. This is a well run property and understandably popular.

Nant Cottage is actually closer to the town of Llanwrst, being approximately a mile over the bridge and up into the wonderful Gwydir Forest. It is a cottage I have passed many times over the years and it was exciting to stay there for three weeks. The property is well maintained, cosy and extremely comfortable, two double bedrooms and one twin, bath with shower over and wc. Fully functional kitchen and utility room, large study and delightful sitting room with dining area. One of the fastest WiFi I have ever encountered! To the front is a sunny lawn and to the rear is seating with a BBQ, off street parking for three cars and waterfall beyond! Limitless walks of all grades just outside the door into the magnificent Gwydir Forest and Nant Cottage is a brilliant base for exploring and enjoying all that the area has to offer. The local owners were helpful and charming, loved the cream tea they provided also! I had a fabulous time here.

September 2012
The cottage has bags of charm, it's outside detailing is amazing. The location is perfect, set within its own private beautiful gardens. Within walking distance are a castle, the waterfall, the river with cafe. We felt in inside let the property down, the kitchen/utensils are worn, the house is damp and the bats scratching in the roof keep you awake at night. For any techies, there is no/very little phone signal. We would return, but would take less clothes as washing 4 full suitcases of clothes on returning home took the shine away plus baking trays/cooking utensils. The house wasnt supplied with as much 'household' items, dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid, hand washes etc as other cottages so be prepared to bring everything or have Tesco deliver. With no phone signal phone the owner for the cottage phone number to leave as a contact number on the tesco delivery page!

August 2011
Nant Cottage was our 5th cottage from Sykes and we just don't know how they can better it. Everything from the welcome scones and supplies to the waterfall virtually in your back garden makes this cottage and location special. I'm hesitant in saying to much as I will want to go back to Nant Cottage in the future and want to make certain that there will be a few free weeks left for me.
Mr Wright

Nant Cottage was absolutely superb. The location was excellent as was the accommodation. If anything the photos on the web site and in the brochure did not do justice to the cottage. The owners are friendly and welcoming, (loved the scones). This was one of the rare holidays we did not want to end.

The owners of Nant Cottage are lovely, the met us at the cottage with afternoon tea and made us very welcome, again (this was our second visit.) The cottage is very well equipped, my husband was a chef but even he managed to find eveything he needed in the kitchen, the rooms are well decorated with everything you need, tv, freeview, (the freeview box broke while we were there, I rang the owners in the morning and just after tea-time they came with a replacement!) log burning stove, payphone (it is the middle of nowhere so no mobile signal!) and the bedrooms are just lovely, our children (12 and 14) enjoyed being out in the garden looking for the slow worms and other wildlife, feeding the birds, playing in the stream and walking down to the waterfall just behind the cottage, (not recommended for young children unsupervised.) The cottage stands alone in a peaceful location surrounded by trees and nature, very quiet, lovely walks and drives from there, and an old hall just down the road well worth a visit. Without being unnecessarily picky we cannot fault Nant Cottage for a family holiday or get away for couples or friends, people with disabilities might find the spiral staircases tricky to negotiate though.

Idylic setting for an idylic cottage. Lovely walks from the cottage with stream and large waterfall less than a stone throw away. Cottage very comfortable with inglenook fireplace and log burner for the autumn evenings. Withing easy distance of the lovely towns of Bettws Y Coed, Conwy and Llanwrst, with Snowdon and Cader Idris a walkers paradise. A warm welcome from the owner complete with Scones and tea made it a good start to a most enjoyable holiday. Our second visit and just as enjoyable as the first visit.

Well situated 5 minute drive out of town. Well appointed cottage, and at this time of year a very appreciated log fire. Owners very helpfull and advised who/where to go in Betys-y-coed to seek help with a car problem, which proved to be simple, and was fixed at a reasonable price. All in all our stay was pleasant and we found the Cottage to be well situated to use all of the N Wales Area. (Snowdonia and the Coastal Towns) Cottage was full of character and well equipped. The bridge to enter driveway can be a bit alarming and care needs to be taken if stopping on it to open the gate in the dark, as there is no guard rail.

The cottage is in a wonderful location - how many properties have a waterfall in the back garden - and is fantastically well equipped. It is warm, cosy and comfortable. The welcome extended by the owner is second to none - the homemade scones were a lovely touch. We've visited on three occasions now and hope to go back in the future.

Nant Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location in the forest. Although it gave us the seclusion that we require in a cottage holiday it was ideally situated for all amenities and attractions of the National Park.
