Mrs Battersby, August 2020
August 2020
Very nice property, Sally (owner) very helpfully, we had a couple of small issues which she sorted to straight away.. Lovely walks from the property. we all had a very relaxing week.
Mr Critchley, August 2020
August 2020
The website photos don't do the cottage justice, two of the three bedrooms are very big and the lounge area very spacious.. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, even an electric whisk. The dining table could possibly be less wide as there is only room to seat four people on three sides of the table in the narrow space between the kitchen and lounge area. We overcame this by having the two children (6 and 3) eat separately before the adults. Everywhere was spotlessly clean! Great to have en-suites in every bedroom too. The only minus points for our group were outside: there could have been seat cushions for the metal outside chairs and the carpark maybe arranged so that the lovely views from the patio area aren't obscured by vehicles - particularly as there were no picnic benches in the paddock as mentioned in the listing. Having said that, we would be happy to return!

This was a lovely cottage in a fantastic location and with amazing views all around.. The owners were very friendly and helpful and before we arrived got in touch to discuss and reassure us re Covid 19 related issues. The location of the cottage is excellent with Edale a stones throw away and many walks/climbs straight from the cottage door. We had a very relaxing week and would happily book again.
Mr Devito, December 2019

October 2019
Well appointed holiday accomodation.. 3 good sized bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms. Property was clean. Kitchen had all the crockery, utensils etc we needed. Comfortable lounge area. Well located for nearby walking trails and couple of pubs in Edale. Plenty of activities within an hour or less drive.
Mrs Condon

Our cottage was very clean, and had everything we needed.. Our host was charming and helpful, and we had a fantastic stay. Thank you!
Mrs Jones
April 2019
We were really happy with this cottage.. The location was beautiful with plenty of walks from the door, as well as a short walk to the pub in Edale village. As we arrived in lambing season, it was a delight to have the ewes and lambs outside the door. Mrs Gee was a wonderful host and to manage these cottages with lambing in full swing was no mean feat! The cottages had everything in that we could have needed, down to dishwasher tablets and extra loo roll. Having stayed in a lot of cottages, it is nice to report how clean the cottage was, how comfortable the beds were, how well equipped the kitchen was and how powerful the showers were.

February 2019
Really lovely place, Sally met us and showed us around.. Cooking facilities are good but here's also a pub near by that do some nice pub food if you can't be bothered! Good rooms with powerful showers which is appricated after a walk in the hills. If you add in the great weather and a solid group of friends it was am amazing weekend. I'd highly recommend this place and would stay again : )

February 2019
Fantastic stay! The cottage was very comfortable, very well furnished and the views were stunning. Looks over grazing sheep and hills. More than enough room for all six of us and the three ensuites were lovely. All clean and in great condition; well-equipped kitchen. Nice fenced area in front for children to play or just to sit and relax. Would definitely return. Unfortunately, the Sykes website would not let us book a midweek stay (three days), so we had to book through an external website, which allowed us to do so.

Meadow View is a converted barn and it is fabulous. Away from the village of Edale, about 10 mins, it is quiet and with amazing views. The accommodation is of the most highest quality and fresh flowers in all rooms, with 3 superb bedrooms en-suite. The bedding was beautiful. Modern fully equipped kitchen and a welcome pint of milk. Sally, the owner is lovely and made us all very welcome. I thoroughly recommend this farm, and the sheep.
Mrs Alliban

November 2015
We stayed here as a group of friends as our base for walking in and around Edale. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. The cottage is amazing and is actually much bigger than the photos demonstrate (rare!). Cannot say how perfect it was - 3 lovely bedrooms, all with ensuites and lovely and clean. Kitchen wonderfully equipped for cooking big meals. Overall we had a wonderful stay and will most likely be returning! The snow in November made it even prettier than normal. Again - 5 starts. The only thing "wrong" with the cottage is that it doesn't have an open fire - but that can't be helped. Owners were wonderful and friendly when checking in and happy to answer any questions we had.
Mr Parker
November 2015

Spent a brilliant week at Meadow Cottage with my family. The cottage had everything you need plus a few nice little extras. The fresh flowers in the living room. The cottage is very well decorated. Everything was very clean. The bedrooms were excellent and having all en-suite was a bonus. The surroundings are very peaceful. The garden was secure so our Grandson was safe to play. Would highly recommend this cottage.

June 2015
We have just come back from staying at this wonderful cottage with the family. Though we were 6 adults and a lively 2 year old this cottage accommodated us with room to spare. All bedrooms were clean, cosy and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped, even more than our own houses :-) The location was off the 'main road' so all we heard were birds, sheep and the occasional train. You have to drive to the nearest shops and pubs but this is really no hardship. I would highly recommend this cottage to families or groups/couples.
Mrs Hammond
June 2015
The cottage was excellent and situated in a very peaceful location. Had an ideal garden for our 2 year Grandson. You could not ask for better accommodation, everything you need was supplied. Ten out ten, a fantastic holiday.
Mr Williams

We had a fantastic week, although the weather was not great. The owner was really lovely, helpful and left us to it. The cottage was perfectly located with direct access to Kinder Scout. The property was excellent and just what we needed. We have four children and the cottage was set up perfectly for a family of six. We would definitely like to return!

Travelled with friends who needed separate rooms. Three ensuite delightful bedrooms, comfortable sitting room, well equipped kitchen, including a bread maker! A lovely walk into Edale and several other walks from the door. Lots of things to see and do in the area. Very quiet ( you get used to the occasional train in the distance). Very friendly helpful hostess, and a great feeling of a local community. No phone access
Mr Bossingham

The cottage was beautiful. We rented this cottage along with 2064 so that the whole family could be together. Meadow View has been beautifully renovated, three en suite bedrooms make it so very practical. Lovely bed linens and towels, little things that make your holiday! Kitchen so well equipped, easy to cook for the family after a day out. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a family holiday.

February 2013
This cottage was perfect for our special family get-together. The location is picturesque with immediate access for walking the peaks. It also has the added benefit of being serviced by the main Manchester to Sheffield trains. The property was spotless throughout and the owners were friendly and helpful. The cottage's three en-suite bedrooms were ideal for our family party, as was the open-plan living accommodation, enabling us to spend quality time together even whilst preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen. There are two pubs in Edale - a short walk across a field - serving good pub food. We would definitely consider returning.

The views from the cottage were amazing. Really loved that it was on a working sheep farm with really friendly owners that even went out and bought us a BBQ as it was sunny that week. Lovely house, well equipped, very comfortable, in a near perfect High Peaks location. Loved it! Kitchen and bedrooms (all en suite) were great, pleasant walk to village of Edale, great circular walks from the house. Minor niggle, had to go outside to pick up the wi-fi from the farmhouse. Took some finding when we arrived.
Mr Jones

The location is excellent and the landlady was very helpful and unobtrusive, a relaxing place to be. The house was warm, dry and had a very well equipped kitchen. An en suite for each bedroom made a very big difference.
Mrs Morris
September 2011
The barn was equipped to the highest standards. The position was rural but it was only a short walk to Edale and the station, coffee shops and pubs. The owner was helpful but not obtrusive. Overall the holiday was a hit with all 4 generations of the family.

The accomodation was excellent in a fantastic area of the Peak District. Ideal for walking and touring the area. Very friendly hosts.
Mrs Robinson
August 2011
It was our 2nd visit to this set of holiday cottages. Scenic rural location set in the Edale Valley with fantastic walking opportunities up on Kinder Scout and over to Castleton direct from the cottage doorstep. We had great weather on this trip so didn't have to rely on the wet weather activities I had planned, of which there are many in the area. This cottage would be accessible to those travelling without a car as although it feels like an isolated location, it's only a 10 minute walk from Edale railway station which is on the Manchester to Sheffield line. The cottage was well fitted and maintained throughout and the owner was very welcoming throughout our stay.

December 2009
Have stayed in many holidays lets in the past, and I have to say this was the best! The accomodation was first class, lovely fixtures and fittings with comfortable beds. The owners were extremely friendly and they were on hand to offer advice on where and what to do locally and further afield. Lovely fresh flowers on arrival and homemade scones! Great location, away from it all, but within a safe short walk (of the road)to the local village and pub. Higly recommended
Dave
December 2009
Excellent cottage with very friendly owners. The cottage is in a very rural setting and is an ideal base for touring the surrounding countryside yet at the same time is very close to major conurbations. We particularly liked that all three bedrooms had en-suite facilities. In addition to the added privacy it saved time in the morning meaning we could be out and about earlier than would have been normal.

December 2009
This was our second visit to this property. The owners were friendly and helpful. The accommodation suited our party extremely well. The views from the cottage and garden are splendid and the atmosphere is one of peace and tranquility. It is a pleasant short walk into Edale village for the information centre, shop, pub and church. We were lucky enough to be entertained there by the Morris team from Chapel-en-le-Frith. It is a walker's paradise with the Pennine Way so close as well as Mam Tor and Castleton. Travelling by car it is easy to access other parts of the Peak District and particularly the cycle trails. One of the objects of our visit was to go to some performances at the G & S Festival in Buxton which we did on 3 evenings during our stay. Probably the worst thing about our stay was the deteriorating weather as the week progressed!

December 2009
The property interior was new, clean and smart. It is a recent barn conversion and has been well done. The owner lives in the farmhouse just over the driveway and we were met and shown round and made welcome. The fact that the cottage is in the middle of a working farm was fine as it was all accommodation around and it is a sheep farm and you look out across the garden, field and fells. Kitchen was well equipped. We were six adults as three couples and the cottage was spacious for us all. We had a dry week with only one rainy day, which might be rare in Edale. The cottage is nice to relax in and it is just a short walk from Edale and the two pubs. We set off walking on the hills around Edale every day and went in different directions covering every hilltop in sight during the week. These walks are right on your doorstep and this is an excellent location for walks, yet also only a few miles in the car from pleasant villages and eating places or the wider Peak District. We would happily return to this cottage another year.
Ms Evans
November 2009

This was a perfect cottage in an ideal rural situation. The ensuite facilities in all bathrooms was a great bonus when you have a party of six. Lovely being woken up by swallows, sheep bleating and even the rumbling of a passing freight train.
Mr Sanderson
July 2009
The location at the farm is excellent. The barn conversion has been very well done and both the property as a whole and the way it has been maintained is to a very high standard. I would happily make a return visit to Meadow Bank. Ollerbrook is also an excellent location from which to explore Edale, the surrounding mountains and the general area.

What a wonderful property, in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful owners. We would whole heartedly recommend staying at Meadow View Cottage. This was an exemplary property! To sum up in one word - heavenly. I'd thoroughly recommend this cottage. The children had their own space, and the place was so well-equipped, with a beautiful view from every window. We were spoilt for choice as to which walk to do. I can honestly say I could not find fault. Please pass on our thanks! We will return.

It is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The location offers easy access to hiking trails, excellent views, and a peaceful setting just a short walk from the village of Edale...Perhaps the best self-catering accommodation we have seen to date.
Mr Little
October 2007
There were many things to like about this property. The view from the window was stunning. The large open plan living and kitchen area had a very nice feel to it, making it possible for everyone at all times to be social. This place has been decorated to the highest standard, and its cleanliness was second to none. I even had a chance to talk to the owner, and she was a very pleasant and welcoming person. I like to go away with friends on a regular basis, and will seriously consider visiting the same place again.
Mrs Spalding
September 2007
Beautiful area and lovely walks...
Mr Brown
August 2007
The area and the setting of the property was excellent. For walkers there were sufficient walks from the property to completely avoid using a car throughout the week, and there was a a pub within 10 minutes walk. What more could one ask apart from a week's sunshine (which we got).
