Jane was very accommodating and made sure any issues were resolved ASAP.. We really valued being feeling comfortable to ring her whenever an issue occurred. The cottage was fantastic and really exceeded expectations. We had an amazing stay and will go back at some point in the near future.

We booked the cottage for 6 adults to celebrate a 40th birthday and the place was amazing.. It was clean and spacious with everything you would possibly need for a great weekend. Using the hot tub in the freezing weather was a fantastic experience. Great location with so much to do around, if you get a chance check out Go-Below. And make sure you feed the friendly cat.

The cottage is in a beautiful location.. It was ideal for a family get together pre Christmas as there was plenty to do and it was cosy and comfortable. The hot tub and the pool table were fun and there are many great walks. The cottage was decorated for Christmas which was lovely and there was also an adorable cat!

We had an amazing time celebrating a friend's 15th wedding anniversary.. The location is stunning with lovely walks right on the doorstep. Hot tub was breathtaking on a clear night to look up at the stars. Nice and clean and comfortable. The only tiny thing missing was kitchen roll!!!

A really lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.. With a mixed group of adults, teens and younger children the area, accommodation and facilities were great in keeping everyone occupied. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Staff at Sykes Cottages were really helpful when we rang with any queries and resolved any questions quickly. We would recommend both Sykes Cottages and Maes Madog Cottage to anyone considering a similar holiday.

This cottage is beautiful, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind in.. We were a party of 6 which included a 16,18 and 19. They loved it, walking in fields, the freedom. It was a very happy week and didn't want to leave. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The views from hot tub are amazing. If you want peace and tranquillity then this is the cottage to choose . Would highly recommend it.

After a beautiful journey through the VERY narrow lanes we had a wonderful surprise on the dining room table when we arrived.. Stunning walks, friendly outside cat and interesting cow movement at 10.00pm some nights. Superb hot tub with country views and enjoyed listening to the dawn courus by so many birds. Even thought this house is close to the other holiday cottages you feel as is you are miles from anyone due to how the house is situated. Will definitely recommend and will certainly return here.

The cottage is as awesome as it looks on the fotos - a very welcoming, comfortable house with character.. Our kids loved the hot tub and the pool table, we enjoyed sitting on the lawn in a very undisturbed location (except for the noises of the sheep, but that‘s part of being in the middle of Snowdonia ;-) Very friendly and welcoming people too....

We were 8 ladies celebrating a 50th birthday.. Weekend 11th May to 14th May. We were all impressed with the property and the facilities. The hot tub was well used. The kitchen easily sat 8 adults. The grounds are fantastic and the sheep are entertaining. The holiday cat "Lucky" was an added bonus. We had booked various activities for the weekend and the property was ideally situated to get to all the places. We have all said that we would go back there again. Had a fantastic time. Little extras were amazing.- welsh cakes, bara brith, wine and milk were left for us. Can't recommend this place enough!!! Thank you for a fantastic weekend.

Maes Madog was the perfect location for us, and the standard of accommodation was excellent, and as portrayed on the website.. My wife and I were joined by our two adult children, daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren. So The location meant that basically anywhere in Snowdonia was within 30 minutes. We enjoyed the Velocity Zipwire, the Fforest coaster/adventure site (very close by), Conwy Sands, and Mount Snowdon, in addition to lovely walks into and around Betwys Coed. We all enjoyed seeing the sheep in nearby fields and even in the garden! The hot tub was enjoyed on many occasions. The kitchen is very well appointed, the lounge is great with the wood burner, and we all found the bedrooms and bath/showering facilities to be enjoyable. Jane, the owner, met us on our day of arrival and gave us a short and comprehensive introduction to the facilities. She was also nearby on the day we left and we confirmed that we would very much like to return. Phil Peggs (6/6/18)

Upon booking we were only able to book and pay for whole week even though we were not able to arrive until the Sunday.. Upon arrival we found out that the cottage had been re-let which does not seem to be right as were under the impression that the cottage was ours Friday to Friday.

Great house and facilities! Pictures don’t do the house justice. Great for up to 8 people, rooms are spacious and kitchen/living room too. Pool table and hot tub were great it was a perfect weekend away. A 45min walk to bets-y-coed which has pubs etc, but be warned the walk back is very steep and there are not many local taxis

Sykes and Mrs Jones were very helpful with any questions about the property and grocery deliveries prior to our stay.. Mrs Jones (Jane) welcomed us and showed us everything we needed to know. The property was lovely and suited us down to the ground. The house was warm but we still enjoyed having the log burner going for when we got out the hot tub. Great location with plenty to do in the area.

Cottage was very lovely, Jayne was very welcoming and left use Welsh cakes, cream eggs and x2 bottles of prosecco.. And not forgetting the lillies. The view around the property were stunning with little lambs running around playing :0) there was a resident cat who visited daily, he or she was very friendly so don’t forget to feed it and give him some love if you do visit. There was 8 of us, sitting around the television at night felt a little small for 8 but if you have a few small friends like we did then it shouldn’t feel too bad. The only downside was the log burner, although Jane was very accommadating and brought use logs and got logs delivered the next day, they were very wet so the fire never really got going, the heating only came on for several hours a day which left us quite cold. The whole cottage was clean and has all facilities to cook, the dish washer was a bonus. The hot tub was a treat and we didn’t really move from there. Fresh towels were given to all 8 people which was nice. Over all the place is gorgeous would definitely go again, only be more prepared and bring my on logs which I can get going and perhaps for a longer period to enjoy some of the walks we didn’t get to go on due to the weather Thank you so much for a lovely stay

Maes Madog is like a little treasure trove! Location wise it is fantastic for exploring Snowdonia, albeit it is a very small, narrow, extremely steep hill you go up to get to the property (all part of the adventure). We had a Tesco delivery to supply us with all our food and drink for our visit. There are small Spar Supermarkets in the villages but you need to go to Porthmadog or Bangor to get to the bigger supermarkets. The rooms are lovely and spacious, yet cosy at the same time. Lots of period features including the original stove in the pool room, a wood burner, lovely wooden furniture in the bedrooms contrasted with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The hot tub was a super treat. I was adamant that visiting in February, we wouldn't me making use of it. Oh was I so wrong, I was the first one in there every night and the whole group of us used it each day. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to be able to stay in a cook evening meals for 8 and the dishwasher also meant breakfast dishes could be washed and ready for evening meals. Good size fridge freezer and the hob and oven were amazing - 4 gas rings, a griddle, a warmer, 2 ovens and a grill and a warming drawer for the plates! The only down side I would say is if you are above 5'3" be prepared to keep ducking your head to get through doorways. This is a 300 year old cottage, what do you expect!
