We had a wonderfull week at Kate's cottage. We had a warm welcome and the owner is really nice. Good place to stay for visiting around Kerry and many beaches to go swimming at short distance. The cottage has everything you need and for someone like me who loves cooking the kitchen is well equiped: I could get fish, lobsters, crabs, crayfish....fresh from the boats and prepare them for the following meal. Next time we come in Ireland we will stay 2 weeks!

We had a great week at Kate’s cottage which had everything we needed.. It’s in a wonderful location with an easy walk into Knightstown and lovely views of the mountains and water from the back garden. The bed was comfortable, nights were really quiet, and the kitchen was well equipped. We also enjoyed lighting the open fire every evening. Valentia island is a delightful place and we found plenty to do whilst still keeping socially distanced.

We stayed in Kate's cottage and it was exactly as we expected, house was old but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.. There's not much on valentia island but it was just what we wanted, a quiet time away. Will definitely recommend and definitely will book again.

A nice little retreat in a very picturesque part of Ireland. The location of the property is good - not far from Knightstown and the ferry crossing. The property itself could do with a bit of an update - there was a distinct damp smell throughout the property which wasn't great. We were visiting the Island with a larger party who were staying down the road in Chapeltown so we spent most of the time at their house as it was much larger. We mainly just slept at the cottage with our 2 young children (1 and 3) and there was enough room for all of us. We were there for just under 2 weeks - 1 recommendation I would make to the owners, is that there should be a hoover in the property (especially for people staying there that long!) - 2 weeks with 2 kids and no hoover meant that it did get quite messy! Overall a nice holiday.

We had a perfect holiday, the location was just right - far enough away from the village so we had peace and tranquillity.
