An Grianan is a beautifully situated cottage in the Clonakilty countryside.. 3 lovely bedrooms and 2 are en-suite which is perfect. There is also a main bathroom on the ground floor. A very spacious living room and kitchen for cosy nights in. The owners Nora & Andrew were perfect hosts and also invited us to watch the cows being milked. Would recommend.

We had a lovely warm welcome and our hosts were great people.. Nora brought us fresh eggs a few times which was so kind. The house was really nice apart from the furniture being a little uncomfortable in the living room and not many channels working on the TV. The area was stunning and we were able to go see the new born calves next door in the shed. All in all I would recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great walks and beeches and local towns not far away. Oh and a lovely little pub just up the road .

We had a great time The cottage was wonderful with friendly hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves The cottage has everything you need to feel at home.. We had daily visits from the farm dog, saw milking time, got fresh eggs and enjoyed a little bit of rural paradise You will need a car! Highly recommended

We have just checked out and we miss it already. I travelled with my husband, sister and 3 year old daughter who frankly adored every minute. It's well off the beaten track but the postcode takes you right there, down single track lanes but theres really not a lot of traffic. It's a gorgeous setting and theres a warm welcome. We were surprised to find the kitchen really well stocked - if someone left a bag of pasta or jar of sauce, then it stays for the next person. It made preparing meals much easier. The owners are wonderful and were great with our little girl - we went to see milking time and even got some fresh eggs for breakfast. We could let her toddle round the garden safely. The added bonus were the daily visits from the very lovely Molly, the farm labrador. Add in the donkeys at the bottom of the lane (not part of the farm) and you have a very happy child and mum! Know that it is isolated, so you need a car unless you are a dedicated Walker. It's incredibly peaceful, but the will be some noise - this is a working farm and you should bear that in mind. Cows need milking and sometimes the tractors are out - our girl loved it.the hosts are very willing to let you see their way of life. We couldn't find any downsides and are already desperately keen to plan next year!

Cottage and owners ensured we had a lovely 2 day break - even though not far away.. It is a very relaxing place but with the choices of plenty to see and do and with our dog as well. Hopefully will return for longer soon.

Had a brilliant week staying in this lovely cottage.. Nora was so lovely and our children loved seeing the cows being milked and playing with Molly, the farm dog. A great base for exploring west Cork.

This property is a little remote from the nearest large town, Clonakilty. It is in Reanascreena, with an address of Ross Carbery, BUT after you find it, it is a lovely place to stay and relax after adventures just like home. The owners and proprietors are dairy farmers on the other side of the hedge. The cottage is a remodel of a old stone home used by their grandparents many years ago. The facilities included all the amenities for a very pleasant stay. We used this location for day trips along the coast of West Cork including Kinsale, Clonakilty, Timoleague, Skibbereen, Baltimore, Bantry, and all the peninsulas to lighthouses. Two special spots we visited were Galley Head Lighthouse and Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse and Golf Club.

Although we only needed a cottage for two, we decided to go for something a little larger than we needed.. We found that this plan worked as we had everything we needed - a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area, stunning countryside and views, close to towns in every direction with pubs for food, the ability to cook in the cottage if we wanted to, good tv channels and friendly owners - not to mention our visitor, Molly, the dog! Visit the Michael Collins House in Clonakilty, the Famine Centre in Skibbereen, the strand a Inchydoney, and the pub looking over the sea in Glandore, and then plan to come back next year to do it all again.

Tranquil area where the cottage was ideal for exploring.. The owners were informative and knowledgable would recommend to others.

May 2018
The house was very isolated and could have been cleaner as when we arrived we had to clean up a lot of cobwebs and also in the shower room we had to clean the shower water outlet which was blocked solid with hairs and water was building up in shower.. As for the location and mileage from Clonakilty and shops Etc. this was completely inaccurate. In all this was a nice two story house situated in a rural farming area with no amenities available within 8 miles either side of the dwelling. Thanks

The location and surroundings, was lovely place to relax and just 15 minutes from the coast at Rosscarberry and 20 minutes from the lovely town of Clonakilty. The scenery was amazing and the people in the area and the family who own the property were so welcoming and friendly. This is without doubt one of the nicest places in Ireland

We used this property as a base for visiting the South West of Ireland. To that end it was ideally located. The property was clean, tidy and comfortable to be in. It is within good striking distance of Clonakilty, Skibereen, Mizen Head etc. If you like cows there are plenty to see and hear because this cottage is right next to the owner's working farm. First class accommodation; we would go back again.

We spent a fabulous 4 days in the cottage mid-December, as a group of 4 friends in their 20's it provided absolutely everything (and much more) than we expected. Great local pubs, beautiful scenery and welcoming locals. We chose not to hire a car and did not find it a problem in the slightest. There is an excellent taxi service which is very reasonably priced, and a reliable bus service into the larger towns. Whether walking is on the agenda or sitting in front of a roaring log fire, the surrounding countryside and villages in West cork are as picturesque as they are welcoming, with plenty to keep you occupied. We ate out a few times and experienced an extremely high standard of locally sourced food, particularly seafood straight from the coastline. The cottage is in excellent condition with cosy rooms and a spacious open plan kitchen containing all mod cons and appliances. One of the most memorable and enjoyable holidays we have been on.

We spent a very enjoyable week there at the end of June with my wife and 2 young children (7 and 5 years old). The house is about 5 miles inland from Clonakilty and Rosscarbery nestled in a small valley near the small village of Reenascreena. We were definitely glad that Nora, the landlady came and met us in Rosscarbery to guide us there as I wouldn't fancy trying to find it! You would definitely need a car or motoroised transport if you were planning on staying here. There were nice touches on arrival such as milk and butter in the fridge and fresh flowers. The house was as nice as pictures suggest with a c. 1/2 acre garden and is next door to a working farm. Inside, the house was well maintained and a nice bright feel to it. It proved an ideal base from which to see much of west Cork – we spent a number of days on the nice sandy beach in Warren strand near Rosscarbery interspersed with trips to Kinsale, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Union Hall. We were lucky with the weather during our stay but even on the odd rainy day there was still enough to do. There is a nice hill walk up Carrig Fada nearby which Nora told us about. It's a steep climb but not too long and worth the view from the top. We would thoroughly recommend it as an ideal location for a relaxing West Cork getaway.
