What a beautiful cottage.. Although the Bothy is in the grounds of Meeson Hall the cottage felt very private. Surrounded by trees and so peaceful. Very relaxing. Cottage very comfortable and well equipped. We will certainly try to stay again if we are in the area.

The Bothy is situated in the grounds of Meeson Hall but is still private.. There is a covered veranda to sit under in a west facing garden, very private and quiet. Only noises we heard were birds and tractors in the adjoining fields. Bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. Lovely welcome basket from owners, always appreciated. Unlike some places we’ve stayed the sofas were very comfortable and we enjoyed lounging the day away. The location is ideal for exploring the delights of Shropshire and neighbouring counties, would highly recommend staying here. Don’t be put off by comments regarding the single lanes approaching Meeson Hall as they are for only a short distance and nowhere near as ‘single’ as the ones to be found on Devon and Cornwall!

The Bothy (941952) Meeson near Ironbridge and Market Drayton, Shropshire 26 October, 2018 - 02 November, 2018 This property is set in beautiful grounds in the country side and was a lovely quite place to relax.. The owners left us a welcome pack which consisted of a fresh loaf of bread a pint of milk a pot of home made jam pats of butter and 6 fresh farm eggs which was a nice surprise. The area has plenty of things to do and see close by. We had a lovely time here celebrating our ruby wedding anniversary.

The Bothy at Meeson Hall is a comfortable, quiet and very well equipped cottage.. We received a warm welcome and excellent welcome pack from the owner which was appreciated. The cottage was ideally placed for visiting the Ironbridge Gorge attractions, Shrewsbury, Telford, other surrounding areas, and local amenities and shops. Thank you.

This holiday the Boffy at Meesom Hall was very good the welcome pack was more than any other let we have had the manager met us and shown us round the the Boffy, the settings absolutely great, it was nice and quite, very narrow lanes to get to Meesom Hall but well worth it..

The whole experience was a treat from being welcomed by Mark to enjoying all the amenities the cottage had to offer> the set up of the cottage was spot on with everything you needed for a comfortable stay which included a welcome hamper, great Wi Fi and lovely walks, the only thing I would say is that it is quite remote and you definitely need a car..

A really delightful, peaceful, cosy and well equipped cottage — perfect for a quiet retreat.. Plenty of local walks and interesting excursions too. Very welcoming and helpful hosts Adrian and Paul in the main house.

The Bothy was very well equipped and comfortable.. We only mentioned that the shower was running cool and the plumber was called, fitted a new one the same day. Shame that in two weeks stay we only had broadband for 4 days. That with no phone reception was very inconvenient.

We had a fantastic 2 week stay in the Bothy.. It is a beautiful place to stay with easy access to many local attractions. But a perfect place to stay and enjoy the comfort of the cottage and wander around the grounds and admire the surroundings. It is peaceful and relaxing. Mark and Adrian make you feel so welcome, which makes you feel so at home.

The Bothy at Meeson Hall is an absolutely fabulous, high quality, extremely well equipped, self-catering cottage. A far cry from the primitive style of 'bothy' you normally associate with the word. It's newly converted from outhouses within the attractive gardens of a beautiful timber-framed hall, where the owners, Mark & Adrian, are v. friendly and helpful hosts. The secluded setting offers total privacy, but also assistance if ever needed. Tucked well away from any main road is remarkably peaceful and the facilities and equipment all so pristine and cosy. It must be one of the quietest refuges in the country. We woke up every morning to nothing but silence apart from the sound of woodpigeon and the sight of a resident great spotted woodpecker, rabbits and a host of other wildlife. At night we walked off supper among the country lanes and farms roundabout, rarely passing a car and enjoying glorious sunsets on the horizon. This accommodation is located in rural Shropshire and offers a perfect getaway, but it also provided us with a wonderful base to explore the surrounding area. It's within easy driving distance of mediaeval Shrewsbury and other pretty market towns such as Ludlow, Market Drayton and Stafford, as well as Offa's Dyke and the Welsh Border. Among places in the area we would recommend are: - Mediaeval towns, such as Shrewsbury, Ludlow & Much Wenlock with its priory. - The Hawkestone Follies nr. Hodnet, a terrific place for adults and children to burn off steam on an historic estate among an array of natural and man-made monuments, caves, bridges and other challenges. - The Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, one of the oldest and steepest in the country - Stokesay Castle, a pretty fortified house (EH), Attingham Park & Chirk Castle (NT) - Ellesmere Lake for its walks and boating. - Idyllic gardens, such as Hodnet Hall, Wolleron Old Hall & Dorothy Clive Gardens. - The Acton Scott Working Farm, a fascinating place where everything is farmed and spun before the advent of mechanisation. - 'Little Switzerland' and the v. scenic area around Church Stretton and the Long Mynd There are also a raft of good eating places, ranging from farm shop cafes to gastropubs. The Sutherland Arms at Tibberon and The Lion at Crudgington are the nearest. Haughmond Hotel farm cafe in Upton Magna is a real gem, as is a delightful bookshop cafe at Aardvark Books at Brampton Bryan. One of our favourite lunch spots was the veggie 'Good Life' in Shrewsbury. A truly wonderful stay and we're already longing to go back!
