I am baffled by the bad reviews from this beautiful house! I stayed here in the winter with friends and did not review it at the time but now I've seen some negative reviews I felt the need as I thought it was fabulous. Honestly the photos don't even do it justice, the whole place had a luxury feel to it and it was immaculate. We loved it that much we have booked it again so will be leaving another review afterwards.

Fabulous house with plenty of room for the 15 of us.. The house had everything we needed. Only disappointment was the unavailability of the WiFi for the whole of the week.

We booked this house for a week for my brother and sisters 40th birthday in October. The house was beautiful and there was lots of room for all 15 members of our family, including our children and a baby. We experienced endless problems throughout the week. When we arrived the house was filthy; dried food on the kitchen floor, thick dust everywhere, dirty toilets. The owner was contacted that day and arranged to come and clean but failed to turn up . After rearranging to come again she failed to turn up a second time. There were not enough towels, dirty bedding, two stair gates broken so my sister who’s birthday it was couldn’t stay in the master bedroom as it was too much of a risk with a baby and a broken stair gate. The hot tub was broken and this was one of the main reasons we had booked this house. I had read all the reviews previous to booking the house and the holiday company rang the owner to check that the hot tub was working as many of the reviews had mentioned that it was broken. She assured it was a new hot tub and worked fine. This wasn’t the case. The remote controls in bedrooms didn’t work, lightbulbs were out and cobwebs everywhere! It was Halloween and we certainly didn’t need to put up any decorations! Many of the reviews all mentioned similar problems. Maybe the owner hadn’t read the reviews online but there were pages ripped out of the guest book so I’m assuming people had left their comments in there too. We were so disappointed with the lack of communication from the owner. For such a special occasion that my mother had paid for as a treat. This house needs some TLC and a good clean. Such a shame as it could easily be a 5* property. We would not recommend this property.

Family get away on a windy January weekend.. The house offers plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves - and areas to get away from everyone too. Proximity to the bay, with two nice pub/ restaurants is good and definitely within walking distance despite the hill. The antique and collectible shop close to the property is a great find! Whilst the pictures listed are great, perhaps the web listing would benefit from a floor plan. We also found a couple of the stair gates a bit wobbly/ not secure enough to keep children off the stairs. Have recommended the house to friends and family and will certainly look to return in sunnier weather.

Absolutely brilliant property, will definitely recommend and our group would definitely go back together and also with our own families too .. Can not thank the owner enough for going out of her way to get the hot tub repaired and inviting all 12 of us for a free lunch at the boathouse for it not being in use when we arrived. Truly amazing stay for my mums 60th . Thank you so much .

The house was very spacious and beautifully furnished.. It was amazing to have 4 families together including 6 children. The hot tub was a definite bonus enjoyed by us all. It was within easy reach of The Boat and Ship Inn and the beach too. Don’t look any further - book it !!

Really superb place to stay, we were a group of 8 adults and 5 children. Spacious, clean, wonderfully decorated and well equipped. Location is good, your able to walk to the beach in a couple of minutes and then possible to follow the coastal paths. Three decent pubs / restaurants nearby. Owner was really helpful with our enquiries before we went. There is an extra bedroom not mentioned in the particulars - doesn’t have a full height door but would be fine for an older child to stay in. Good value for money, have already recommended to a friend and will definitely be staying here again.

Unfortunately I find myself writing a negative review of this property & it was something which would have so easily have been fixed before we arrived. The house is beautiful and is in a fantastic location, but if you want to make use of the hot tub you may want to choose another property as this one is broken. We believe that the owner knew the hot tub was broken before we had arrived, it was strange she didn't know how to get it working herself considering she owns it! We called Skyes multiple times across Fri-Mon to send someone to fix it, several people tried but we had no luck the whole weekend! There were 9 of us (females) celebrating a birthday and of course the main attraction was the hot tub, I hate to say it but it really did put a dampener on the weekend & after the multiple complaints made we seem to have gotten nowhere hence this disappointing review.

Stayed Friday - Monday over first weekend of November. Called Sykes upon arrival to advise hottub was cold, they called back confirming owner emptied and cleaned it that morning and it 'won't reach optimal temperature until Saturday' • This wasn't explained upon booking, had we had known it wouldnt be working for 24 hours, we'd have booked elsewhere. • Owners son came Saturday evening, approx 24 hours after arrival - unacceptable! Told us he'd sorted it and it'll heat up - it didn't. • Called Sykes again, Owner came Sunday with different son, tried passing blame onto us, something along the lines 'you've knocked something when messing with buttons, it's sorted now' 1) We hadn't knocked anything at all 2) Even if we had, between the owner and two sons, they should have known how to fix it - they didn't. This hottub was freezing the whole weekend. I believe the owner knows it's broken, otherwise they could have fixed it?!?! I also think it's disgusting to blame your guests for something they hadn't done! The range in the kitchen - only one oven works, so cooking a meal for eight was hard, upto 14 (max capacity) impossible! Drains in master en-suite were bust, couldn't use the bathroom at all as smell was awful. Lights around the hottub didn't work, but neither did the hottub so.... I wouldnt recommended this place. Undoubtedly it's a beautiful house, but if you're wanting a hottub as the main feature, go elsewhere where you won't be blamed for the owners shortcomings!

The house was wonderful and very well equipped for our 3 generation family. The garden was suitable for our young grandchildren to play safely in. The BBQ and hot tub provision were wonderful and all the family had a brilliant holiday.

An absolutely fabulous and spacious house. The hot tub and being so near to the beach was a fantastic bonus. The furnishings were very high quality and it was beautifully decorated - very stylish yet comfortable. We would love to go back. We are a large family and the layout of the house worked for us perfectly. Super duper!

The house was absolutely fabulous, very spacious and comfortable too. Space outside was lovely, neat gardens with lots of parking and places to sit out when the sun shines. A nice walk to the beach at Red wharf Bay and would definitely go back.
