The Shippon is a welcoming character cottage in the heart of the popular Dales village of Grassington. The cottage has a super king-size double room, a double and single bedroom, a bathroom, ground floor cloakroom, kitchen with dining area, and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking for two cars, and a side patio garden with furniture. The Shippon makes an ideal property for exploring both the village, with its annual festival and pretty village trails, and the hills and dales surrounding this popular tourist spot.

Area
Grassington is a lovely village in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, on the River Wharfe, home to traditional stone cottages and a cobbled market place. Down dale is Bolton Abbey and up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden with wonderful limestone scenery. Enjoy great walking and explore Bronte Country and York, within easy driving distance.

This is at least third time I have been to this cottage and it never disappoints.. It is clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Ruth the owner has so got it right. Its like a home from home, The location is perfect, close to village centre and local amenities. Grassington is a lovely village, with a great range of restaurants. There are also footpaths in all directions within reasonable walking distance, two to four miles, and further if you are a hardened walker, and pubs/restaurants enroute for lunch. Our latest find was the Craven Arms at Appletreewick, fabulous food.

We booked only the day before we wished to stay at the Shippon and every detail we required was quickly and efficiently emailed to us by Sykes and the owners of the cottage so that we were able to travel easily to the destination and found the cottage as directed.. We were not disappointed on arrival.

The Shippon is an immaculate cottage in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the centre of Grassington.. The set-up in the cottage did everything possible to deal with COVID 19 problems and we felt completely safe. To be highly recommended.

Great place for lots of reasons Only one suggestion, if rented for two nights would be good to have wood for the log burner for two nights as it was massively cold whilst there, had to go out to buy some and were heavy to carry back.. Would use again and recommend Thanks Karen

The Shippon is a wonderful, cosy, spotless and well-equipped character cottage.. Parking for one car just outside the front door, which is rare in Grassington, and really helps with unloading bags from the car. The cottage is furnished beautifully, and the kitchen is full of quality crockery. Thoughtful touches include a book and DVD collection, puzzles and jigsaws, and a fire with enough wood to keep you going for a chilly night.

I so loved this cottage, it was a joy to stay in.. It had everything in it to make our stay enjoyable - even provided bird seed to feed the birds, of which there were plenty. You could sit in the mornings in bed, with a cuppa, and look across the Moors. I picked Lilley of the Valley, from the garden, which filled the lounge with their lovely fragrance.

I have stayed at the Shippon on a previous occasion and was equally delighted both times.. The cottage was clean, warm, beautifully furnished. It has outstanding views over the countryside. I was very well equipped and the owners seems to have thought of everything from a hand blender to a coffee grinder. I had taken my own just in case but these were necessary. I will certainly be returning again.

Great cottage in a great location.. Very spacious and comfortable. The only criticism as that the internet router kept failing and had to be reset several times a day. The owners should invest in a better router so that multiple devices can be used at the same time.

We stayed at Shippon Cottage Grassington Yorks.. It was possibly the best so far in our dealings with Sykes.The only problem now is that all being well we have to book an overnight stay somewhere on route as the journey with a picnic break is approx. 6/7 hours which for us is very tiring. Age may wither us but the spirit is strong.

A gem of a cottage,sitting at the top of Grassington village,just a five minute walk from all the village amenities but tucked away from the bustle of the village square. Inside,the cottage is warm,welcoming and immaculately clean. It definitely feels more like a home than a holiday let,with lots of attention to detail- soft throws on the sofas,rocking chair by the radiator in the kitchen ( we loved the quirky wine rack!) and a spice rack full of spices. The beds were comfortable,with crisp clean sheets ant the tiled entrance lobby- with extra toilet- was perfect for snowy boots and waterproofs. We were a party of 5 and although the cottage isn't huge it has been so well thought out that it seems more spacious than it actually is. Of all the holiday properties we've stayed in,this is one of the few I could move into without changing anything. Can't wait to return !

The cottage was very cosy and very well equipped like some logs for the fire dvd’s wel programmed tvmaps en folders on the area really fantastic and we have rented a lot of cottages already and this was one of the best.. Very well situated lovely views and short distance walk to the lively centre full of pubs shops things to do. Own parking space and from the cottage walks like dales way.

An amazing comfortable cottage in an ideal situation.. The weekend was the Dickensian Weekend which was lovely and even the weather was kind. Plenty of places to eat out on an evening or lunch time, but if you want a night in, what better place to spend it than the Shippon, so warm, cosy and homely. Would definitely stay there again.

This cottage is top rate, well appointed and immaculate. Two double bedrooms and a single (my bed the single was very comfortable) A large well equipped Kitchen/Dining area and a comfortable sitting room well stocked with books, DVDs and games. A modern bathroom with bath and shower over and an additional WC downstairs. Wi Fi connection good and a telephone to receive calls. Nicely situated just out of the village centre which is a few minutes walk away. Beautiful views from upstairs and a patio leading from the kitchen which would be useful if the weather is good. Parking for two small cars is a bonus in a village where car parking space is hard to come by.
