Excellent cottage, very spacious and extremely clean, it had everything we needed and we had the most amazing week escaping all the drama from the last few months! We arrived to find a bottle of wine and a card which was a lovely personal touch. There are hares and deer in the field which we saw daily and a short stroll to the bay, this cottage was one of the best we have stayed in and will definitely be back. All beds were very comfortable, I would recommend to the owners perhaps a bed topper on the double room as it is quite firm but that's just my personal preference. So many beautiful sites to see but our best day was a beach trip to Port Logan where we caught fish from the rocks!

I've stayed here many times now and we always look forward to out next trip. The cottage is beautiful and both well looked after and well equipped. The views are fantastic it's always a treat to see the deer or hares out in the fields. We've been up as a couple and as a family and it's been excellent every time. Some great spots to eat nearby. I can recommend the seafood platter at The Crown in Port Patrick. Fresh buns from the shop in Glenluce are great too but get there early.

This is a characterful and well-designed cottage, and is clean and well-equipped. The wood burner was only lit twice because of the mild weather but is a cracker when needed! It's set in an area with some interesting beaches and towns, definitely an under-rated part of Scotland!

The owners really went above and beyond what we were expecting in terms of the little things provided. The property was truly amazing and beautifully presented both inside and out. It is set in such a lovely setting too, we spent a lot of evenings just watching the wildlife outside. Could easily have stayed another week.

The cottage is so lovely and peaceful, a great base to come back to after a day of exploring. You are only 2 minutes from a beach and you are surrounded by lovely fields with lots of wildlife. This was my second time staying here and it wont be my last.

A lovely well equipped cottage in a peaceful location, just a few minutes walk from the beach. We could sit in the lounge and watch hare and deer from the large windows.

A beautiful cottage with great views and a short walk to the beach. A lovely kitchen and lounge. We loved the open feel when looking out the sliding doors and windows, although my favourite place was the porch.

Just returned from a fantastic week in this beautiful modern cottage with everything you could possibly need, even a telescope to watch the deer in the fields behind the cottage. A perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Stranraer is just a short drive down the road where you can catch a train to Glasgow or a ferry to Belfast There are also plenty of formal gardens to visit for walking round. A visit to the Harbour town of Portpatrick is a must try the Crown if your a sea food lover.

We have just stayed here for one week. The property has beautiful views of open countryside, with sheep and lambs in the fields out to the back and we even saw a couple of deer in the field out to the front. The owners arranged for a bottle of wine and a card to be left to welcome us, which was a very thoughtful generous gesture. Downstairs is extremely spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. The utility room has plenty of space to dry off walking boots on the rack provided and also set up the clothes airer if you don’t use the tumble dryer. Be warned though, unless I worked the washing machine incorrectly when I chose a basic 40 degree wash, the washer takes about 3 hours to do a cycle. The lounge is a cosy room with a log burner for the cool evenings and there’s a selection of books, DVD’s and a few games are available. The downstairs bathroom is also a large spacious room and there is a small sun lounge where the front porch would be, this room gets particularly warm on a sunny day. Upstairs though, because the bedrooms are in the eves, great care needs to be taken when walking around. All rooms including the landing have sloping ceilings. I particularly liked the double room because of the amount of glass and natural light coming in, but to get into bed, I would have to bend over and work my way up the bed in a crab like movement to get into bed. Either that or scramble over the other person in the bed. So we opted for the king size room which had easier access, but still, at only 5ft, I had to be careful getting out of bed. There are good points to upstairs though, the shower has amazing water pressure, the king size bed is extremely comfortable, the rooms are all toasty warm and the views over the back fields are lovely. We did have issues with the cleaning. There were crumbs on the worktops near the kettle and toaster. The kitchen floor was sticky under foot. The lounge floor was dusty under foot, there were lots of bits on the carpets upstairs and every floor surface was littered with long black hairs. I vacuumed the floors and also cleaned the kitchen floor with soapy water, problem solved and the feeling under foot was much more pleasant. (The bathroom facilities were very clean) Despite some negative issues, we would recommend this property as it is in a stunning peaceful location with easy access to the coast.

It was great to discover a new area - one which turned out to be much more attractive than I had thought. It was particularly good for walking. We found the cottage to be very much to our taste as well, it being in pristine order. A lot of thought had gone into presenting a comfortable and well fitted-out holiday home.

Been disappointed previously when renting in other parts of the country but this property was perfect! Very spacious, cosy and finished to a very high standard, the property has superb open views to all sides and we saw deer in the field to the back. The location is fantastic and only minutes from a great beach where we walked several times. The family enjoyed exploring some of the local coastal towns and we discovered the huge "The Grey Mares Tail" waterfall in the Galloway Forest. I cannot recommend enough and will undoubtedly revisit at the earliest opportunity!!

Spacious, comfortable, homely accommodation in a quiet, unspoilt part of the country yet with so much to do and explore. The coastline is stunning, the beaches quiet and the settlements quiet and attractive. The Galloway forest is nearby and offers a stunning setting for a whole range of activities. We saw deer from the window, seals at the coast and far more besides.

A lot of thought had been given to everyone's needs, and the cottage was peaceful, and the outlook even more so. The wrap-around windows in the sitting room were a joy, we just sat and gazed out, and it did not matter if the weather was bad. The beach being so near was an added bonus.

The location of this property is outstanding if you are looking for solitude, peace and quiet and wonderful countryside. It is also only 8 minutes walk to the beach. The cottage is outstanding in its presentation and finish, the location is breathtaking. My wife and I are cottage rental junkies, renting up to 3 properties a year over the last 5 years. This property and its location is by far the best we have experienced.

Fantastic, light and roomy accommodation. Beautiful part of the country, so much to do in the area with great variety and yet so quiet and unspoilt. Wonderful wildlife, especially the deer that were usually visible from the house. We loved it all.
