Property Description

Holiday home
Pollys Bower is a luxurious, dog-friendly retreat for couples set in beautiful rolling Cornish countryside with sensational far-reaching views and an elegant outdoor heated pool. It occupies a tranquil and tucked away location, amid a patchwork of fields and wooded valleys, yet is a hop from the Cornish Riviera coastline and beaches and the Tamar Valley, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The barn accommodates two people in one open plan bedroom with a low wall separating the bed area from the bathroom area with its free-standing bath, sleek shower and a loo tucked into the corner. On the ground floor is an open plan living room including a sitting area with wood burner, dining area and kitchen. Outside is a patio with garden furniture and a barbecue, lawn area and private swimming pool (available 1st May to 31st October between 0600 to 1200 daily). There is off road parking for two cars. The highly rated local The Rod and Line pub or Heskyn Mill restaurant is within a short walk and the vibrant city of Plymouth is 10 miles.

Accomodation Details
1 x king-size double. Open plan bedroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Open plan living room with sitting area, dining area and kitchen. Outdoor WC.

Area
Saltash is dominated by the magnificent Tamar Bridge, Brunels masterpiece of engineering taking people from Devon to Cornwall across the Tamar River, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Saltash retains much of its old Cornish charm with narrow streets rising steeply from the banks of the river, and plenty of shops and interesting inns. From the old quayside there are river trips up stream to Calstock, a pretty village with white cottages on a steep hillside. Here, the 120 foot giant 11-arched Calstock Railway Viaduct towers above the River Tamar and carries one of Britains most picturesque branch lines down to the coast. Saltash offers some beautiful walks along the Tamar, and is only a five minute drive from Plymouth, with a plenty to occupy visitors including the historic Barbican quayside area with cafes, shops and bistros, the National Marine Aquarium and several theatres. A perfect base for exploring the area along the beautiful River Tamar.

Region
Cornwalls visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britains premier holiday destinations.

Only slight issue was the WiFi was a 4G dongle.. Which meant we were ill prepared on entertainment front (brought Apple TV to watch GoT etc). Louise was more than happy to add data though but we obviously didn’t want to waste her money. Place was stunning though, all the little touches were brilliant and we are still using the Cornish sea salt!

This is the second time we have stayed at Polly's Bower having enjoyed our stay last year so much. The standard of the accommodation is excellent, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful views, and a lovely fire for when the weather turns! (A basket of logs are provided to start you off). We stayed last year and this year with our daughter; both high chair and travel cot are available although we brought our own travel cot. The welcome basket is a lovely addition and makes it that extra bit special. Thank you Louise!

Polly's Bower has a definite WOW factor.. On arrival this beautiful location was just what we needed for our relaxation. Polly's Bower is set in the most beautiful location, it is home from home so welcoming and comfortable would go so far to say luxurious. We had everything we needed to enable us to be self sufficient having taken all the produce we needed to enjoy for our weeks stay. The welcome of cream tea set out beautifully and other goodies to enjoy added the special touches that weren't expected but were delightful. Louise is a lovely person and has certainly put her stamp of luxury on this property. Highly recommended. The Rod and Line pub which is close by is amazing in the fact that they are so friendly and the pub is like stepping back in time the atmosphere and the food was lovely. Seaton which is approximately 15 minutes drive away has the most amazing beach and lovely country walks, we took a pic-nic and spent all day walking and marvelling at the scenery. Could not have found or been to a more beautiful, clean and comfortable place.

After a 7 hour drive ( 5 hours longer because of a major accident on m5 ) we arrived at Pollys Bower , Keeping in contact with the owner , She was there to greet us , show us around and then we were left to explore .. Pollys bower was simply beautiful , stunning, and cosy . A lovely cream tea awaited us , chilled wine in the fridge , a hamper with a selection of local produce , even a dog bed treats and bowls . The photographs do not do Pollys bower justice , it's sheer luxury . Peaceful and quiet , stunning views of the local countryside . Everything you need is supplied from tea coffee and sugar and milk , to the toiletries , it's the little extras supplied that go a long way We would recommend this to anyone young or old Hubby has MS and the break did him wonders , just managed the stairs
