As part of the Snowdonia National Park it is surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside and ancient mountains and is home to an abundance of wildlife and some rare species of plants. This is a Mecca for walkers, horse-riders and climbers looking to pit themselves against the trials offered by Mount Snowdon. There are a variety of attractions in and around Betwsy-Y-Coed, such as Fairy Glen, a secluded gorge and beauty spot on the River Conwy. The Swallow Falls are also extremely popular and offer a dramatic highlight to any visit. There is a good selection of pubs in the village, with a number of restaurants and shops.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Really lovely cottage, one of the better ones I’ve stayed it.. Obviously a bit old in decor but everything we needed was at our finger tips and I can’t think of anything more that could have been provided. Also the views was remarkable and yet so close to key routes around Snowdonia.

The location is wonderful.. Relaxing and quiet with amazing views of the hills and distant mountains. Plenty of birds to watch and the sheep provided a lovely ambience. Well signed walked around the area. The cottage is really well stocked with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The rooms were comfortable and well presented. The host was really helpful and ensured we had all we needed. Would definitely consider another holiday here.

Had the opportunity to stay here in the most wonderful week of the year.. Loved the solitude, all we could hear were the sheep and the birds, pure bliss. Spacious accommodation with all the facilities you could ever need. The cottage lies in a stunning valley off a quiet road and is great if you want to really get away from the rat race. Perfect as a touring base to easily cover North and central Wales. Also had the pleasure in meeting and chatting to the owners who were friendly and helpful. In short we really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic location and very comfortable.. Ideal for walkers with dogs. The shortest route to Betws-y-Coed requires two road gates to be opened and closed, but this keeps the lane quiet.

The cottage is in a secluded area in the hills on a working farm. A perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday. It was nice to see the owner a couple of times whilst we were there. She made sure that we had absolutely no problems. The cottage is cosy and warm and ideally located for the attractions that this part of the world has to offer. We will return without doubt, and hopefully stay in the same cottage.

A warm welcome with milk and cakes awaitied us. It is a lovely 'farmhouse' set on a working sheep farm about 4 miles from Betws-y-Coed. The accommodation was very clean, neat and tidy, with everything you could want, providing a home from home feeling. The owner was friendly and helpful. There is a games room in an outbuilding and a laundry room. It is well situated for Snowdonia with Anglesey less than an hour away, and plenty of nice walks nearby. The guest comment book showed a number of regular visitors. We would definitely stay there again, and would recommend the cottage to friends.

July 2012
The location of the accommodation on the farm, especially during lambing season was a worthwhile experience. Furthermore it was not far from Betws-y-coed, a beautiful riverside town with good restaurants and nice walks. Had the opportunity to meet the owners who were very friendly and attended to our small request very promptly. We were shown around their working farm nearby where we had a rewarding experience of witnessing a lamb being born in our presence. I will definitely visit this place again and will surely recommend to others as well.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the fabulous views in every direction, and also the large enclosed garden - perfect for our dog. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there was a superb bathroom with an excellent shower. There was a wide array of birds to watch outside. The owner was friendly and helpful - excellent, homely accommodation.

A very homely, comfortable farmhouse cottage away from it all in the Welsh hills near Betws y Coed. Extremely well equipped - plenty of crockery and glasses, as well as dishwasher, washing machine, freezer, etc. - everything anyone could need. A warm welcome awaited us, with home made scones, milk and tea/coffee. The highlights for us were the views, which surrounded the cottage in every direction, and the peace and quiet - only birdsong and the occasional sheep bleating! Beds were comfortable - there is a twin and a triple (double +single) bedroom - and a spacious, upstairs bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. There is a large, enclosed garden, which is perfect for anyone taking a dog - our whippet thoroughly enjoyed himself! There is a small games room in an out building, with table football, dartboard,,etc. The cottage is approached from the A5 via a mile of narrow road, followed by just over half a mile of even narrower lane, making it wonderfully rural but quite a long way from any pub or restaurant. (We ate regularly at the friendly Silver Fountain pub, about 3 miles away, which serves good food and allows dogs inside - curry nights on Wednesdays when curry and a pint is £6.95 - recommended. Also try the home made steak and guinness pie - delicious! ) The owner, Mrs Jones, is extremely helpful and lives a mile or so away: she can provide free range eggs upon request, and any advice you need - she brought up her own family of four children in this cottage so is a real local expert.

The views were outstanding and the log fire very homely. The cottage was beautiful. I took glasses and extra things but there was no need as everything you needed was provided even a welcoming snack. I would highly recommend this cottage.

December 2011
The cottage was clean and well equipped, with a tea tray and cakes left out for arrival. Everything worked which makes a change! There are fantastic views of the mountains from here and a somewhat challenging farm road to access the cottage. To travel to the many places of interest does involve a bit of a drive down valleys and around mountains but the scenery makes it worthwhile. The area has many, many castles, beautiful lakes and a lot of sheep! A trip to the top of Snowdon is a must - but best done on a relatively clear day. We would happily return in the future.
Mrs Archibald
October 2011
This was a very nice, cosy cottage that was exceptionally well kitted out. The views from the cottage were fantastic and we were well placed to travel through the Snowdonia National Park or head up to the coast with it's stunning castles steeped in history. We would happily come back.

A warm welcome from the owner, a lovely, clean, spacious cottage in the most gorgeous setting. Peaceful, quiet with wonderful mountain views. Brilliant for walking in the mountains, close to Betwys Coed for eating out- best food was the Silver Fountain pub nearby- excellent curries! Weather was unbelievably good- coast about 45 mins to the remote, un-peopled beaches (won't say where, then everyone will go there!) We will definitely return; highly recommended.

September 2011
The service was fine, we could phone the owner for information or her eggs. We were never intruded upon, but felt she was there to help if need be, give local info about restaurants or beaches. We liked the home, it had a cottage feel with all mod cons including a washing machine in an outhouse. The only snag about the beds was that my daughter [45 yrs] slept on the spare bed in the double bedroom. She found it incredibly hard and woke up stiff and painful. She didn't want to share the double bed with me, found me disturbing [up in the night.] We had to go a few miles into Betswy Coed for food, but the Spar there had everything we wanted and stayed open late every day so shopping was not a problem. The distance to all the different mountains took quite a while to get to, the situation was good, but perhaps not quite as central as we would have liked. Not a big deal really, but we only had a week and we wanted to do so much, a lot of our time was travelling. I liked the views over such a vast skyline of hills and the lovely wild flowers, streams and walks straight from the house. We didn't like sky television, couldn't see the programmes we wanted, they couldn't be found. The boys liked the peace of the place - they had come from the busy city of Shanghai, but being boys, they wanted to play football and found the garden a bit too small for that. I don't think they were too impressed with the games room, but as we were out most of time, these issues were minor. I know they enjoyed their holiday immensely, they had wanted to go to Wales for a long time and they reffered to the fields, the sheep, the beaches and their different hikes many times when they got back to my home. They wrote and thanked me warmly when they went back to Shanghai.

The local waterfalls and surrounding lakes in the area were particularly impressive.

Everything about the holiday was excellent, the accommodation the area and the service over all. There are some fantastic walks and on days when we wanted to relax it was lovely to sit in front of the log fire. The owner is lovely and very friendly, the welcome tray and fresh flowers were a very nice touch and very welcoming after our journey. This is the third cottage we have stayed in with Sykes and the fourth time we have been in the last 3 years, they have all been excellent but this one was exceptional. I would definately recommend it to our friends and will certainly be going back.
