Lovely cottage, lovely owners but not for us.. Hoped there would be dog walking from cottage and asked on booking but nothing near cottage. Garden was lovely but not secure and all traffic passed by front door, especially to caravan park at rear.

This is the fourth Sykes cottage we have stayed in and it was the best! The owners are lovely people and it makes a world of difference them living on site. A real treat to be surrounded by flowers and lawns. Great to sit under the parasol. Very well furnished and equipped cottage. The owner told us that she furnished it to the same standard as her home. The location is lovely - in the middle of nowhere but only eight minutes to the motorway. Excellent wifi. Our dog loved it. All in all a lovely holiday in a very comfortable cottage. Would we return? YES!!!!

We came down for Christmas. It is beautiful, warm and cosy. All amenities were in the cottage and it is finished to a very high spec. Sue had even put up a Christmas tree and some trimmings, very tastefully done. My car broke down on 23rd Dec and she offered to shop for us. Lovely place, lovely owners. Would definitely come back

Pear Tree cottage was gorgeous and exceeded our expectations.. The owner was really helpful and even offered to pick up some groceries as our car had broken down! There had been a lot of effort to make the cottage look festive with tasteful decorations as indeed was the tasteful decor. All needs were catered for in the fully equipped kitchen. It was warm cosy, the beds were really comfy and I can't fault anything! It is a great base from which to explore Somerset and blissfully quiet! We will definitely be back!

The owner could not have been more welcoming.. It had been raining all day but there she was and the log burner was roaring away making up for a very miserable journey. Cottage was well laid out and we could not have asked for anything more. So forget the time of the year and the weather it could not have been better.

Have nevedr been to Somerset before, and found Pear Tree Cottage, extremely pleasant with a very helpful, friendly owner, and what pleased our group also was the nearness the different places to visit were, and how easy it was to get to them from our destination, I would be happy to re-visit there, we were comfortable, in beautiful surroundings..

We had a wonderful time made very special by Fiona and Gary who have a beautiful cottage with everything you can think of.. Fiona baked a delicious lemon drizzle cake for our arrival with a hamper of lovely things. The bed was so comfortable we slept better than at home. We visited lots of places around the area. We will be going back to visit again

Really nice cottage with everything you could need in it.. Lovely garden . . Lovely owners. Nothing was any trouble to them (but they were not intrusive) and by the end of the week we felt that we had known them for ages. The area was peaceful, people were friendly. Village only one mile. We were lucky to have a couple of really hot days so it was nice to sit outside the cottage under the umbrella for a few hours. The small caravan field is no problem, in fact we took our dog for a run up there every morning and evening. We met some really nice caravan owners to chat to. Burnham on Sea is only 10 minutes away by car. No dogs on the beach but Apex Park (free to park) at the far end is great for dog walking. Takes about 40 minutes to walk around the lake and then plenty of picnic benches and seats. A catering van plus ice cream van are in the car park. All in all a lovely place to spend a couple of hours or more with or without a dog and less than 10 minutes from cottage. We also loved Wells only 13 miles away. And Clark’s Village, Street for shopping. Weston Super Mare is only 15 minutes away. We would highly recommend Pear Tree Cottage.

A very comfortable and warm cottage.. We lit the wood burner once, but it wasn't really needed. Sue was kind and helpful providing home made cakes and fresh flowers on our arrival. The local pubs were excellent for meals. From the noise of our town, we appreciated the quiet of the countryside.

Our second stay in this cosy cottage.. The fire was lit ready to greet us. Sue had thoughtfully left me a helium birthday balloon, which was a really lovely touch. Just as we had on our first say we received a warm and friendly welcome. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed the dog friendly local beaches. A great weekend. Thank you. :)

September 2016
Pear Tree Cottage is an ideal centre within easy reach of Wells, Glastonbury, Burnham-on-Sea and other mid-Somerset locations.. The cottage was very well cared for and the owner very friendly and helpful. This cottage is on the Somerset levels and there is a field "drain" running alongside the garden making the cottage not suitable for small children unless well supervised. This is stated in the details of the cottage. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and are hoping to return next year.
