The cottage has a king-size double room and a family room with two single beds and a children's cabin bed (max. 4 people). There is also a family bathroom upstairs while downstairs is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with gas fire. Outside, parking can be found in a nearby car park (one permit provided). Partridge Holme has all the amenities of Bowness on the doorstep, and Lake Windermere is just a few minutes' walk, making this an ideal base for enjoying the Lake District all year round.

Area The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere both provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants, plus boat trips are available from Bowness to Ambleside, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is on the edge of the town, plus Grizedale Forest Park is nearby and there are many National Trust properties in the area.

Great location, and super to have the parking permit.. Perfect base for the great north swim this weekend.
Lovely little place to stay.. Cosy, with all the main resources supplied. Beds very comfortable and we slept like logs.
Excellent quiet location, surrounded by lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants. All within under a minute walk. Three to five min walk to the main pier

Only one very slight downside is that the cottage had a faint smell of a smoker been in residence. Easily solved with a good airing, but it wasn’t the first impression we expected.
Instructions provided were easy to follow and generally the holiday booking process was made to be easy.. Rearranging the holiday was simple, however I was not aware of the admin fee until right at the end when I phoned back to confirm I'd like to change the booking. This could have caused me some complications in this particular scenario if Sykes had not waived the fee. I also do not know what this is for.
We enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage,you couldn't ask for a better location, everything was virtually on the doorstep,shops ,bars,and the lake was 5 minutes walk away.. The kitchen was well equipped ,warm and comfortable living room ,only gripe would be to put a blind up on front door,we would definitely recommend this cottage and we would definitely rebook this cottage
Absolutely fabulous cottage and location..
A charming little cottage right in the centre of bowness.. It’s a 1 minute walk from the the shops and restaurants and really close to the lake.
Absolutely brilliant.. Myself and my girlfriend took my mother on holiday so the thought of hotels or B&Bs was unappealing - we wanted communal space where we could comfortably spend time together. This holiday cottage exceeded our expectations, and the location was out of this world.

Very good accommodation.. Well furnished and most comfortable. In good location. Would suggest night light at top of stairs as it is very open to the landing.

The location of the property is very good, with the lake and village amenities just outside the door.
The location of the property is perfect. Short walk from everything and also the free parking is a bonus, with the car park being about a 2 minute walk away. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone that is visiting the Bowness area and would use it again myself.
The location of the property is excellent - both for days out for local amenities. The accommodation was well-heated throughout our stay (Economy 7) with a gas-fire back-up if needed (not very often!)
