The bungalow is in a quite close in the village.. Near fish shop, butchers and garage with mini market. Many pleasant walks around the village. This is our second visit and we will return.

Newby is lovely, the best holiday let we have ever stayed in.. Even though it is dog friendly there was no doggie smell or half a ton of hair. Everything was working we could even log into our Netflix on the TV, which was fab as storm Dennis carried on through the week. I can not fault this place we will be rebooking again.
Mrs Thomas, February 2020

I am disabled and found the driveway to be uneven and difficult to negotiate, also, the pathway from the driveway to the bungalow entrance was restricted by over growing plants.. Oter than that, this property was adequate for my needs.

No problems.. A fairly good centre to explore Norfolk but stay out of Kings Lynn unless you know the way and beware of lack of road signage.

October 2018
We arrived 13 Oct and all was OK to start with.. On Sunday 14th the weather got chillier and we tried to put on the central heating only to find the boiler broken and it wouldn't come on. Phoned the owner immediately who came round quickly but couldn't get the boiler working. She supplied a convector heater for the bedroom and the living room had an additional flame effect blow out fire. An engineer inspected the boiler on Monday 15th and identified it needed a new part which was sourced and fixed but not until Thursday 18th. Myself and wife are well in our 60's and in addition my wife is disabled. We found it particularly cold in the mornings and evenings in the kitchen and bathroom and it did honestly affect the enjoyment of our holiday. Although the owner did try to help and kept in regular contact the lack of total heating for 4/5 days was not good. I feel a level of financial compensation would be appropriate for the inconvenience we suffered. Please advise.

Couldn't believe how nice the bungalow was we are used to staying in static caravans, but this far beyond what we were expecting, when we arrived there was a pack of biscuits and some milk the bed was very comfortable.. The neighbours were very nice, if you like stargazing there is no light pollution so you could see lots of stars. Pity about the mobile phone coverage, but it didn't stop us from having a really relaxing holiday.

Was very easy to find, book and more importantly Sykes maintained contact with us from booking to just prior to our holiday start date.. All info sent to us via emailed contact - meaning much less paperwork coming through our letterbox. We arrived at Newby just after 3.00pm to be welcomed with a lovely packet of our favourite biscuits plus a small carton of milk in the fridge. Honestly right down to tea-towels etc.. We were comfortably provided for. I will not laden down our car next year with towels, tea-towels, cleaning consumables etc... because it was all provided. Just after arriving the owner Catherine came to welcome us personally - what a lovely gesture! We really enjoyed our stay at Newby, Gayton and found its' location so convenient for the nearest town Kings Lynn and the A149 Coastal Road up to the Northern Nature Reserves. We even had two meals out at the Crown Pub in Gayton Village and would recommend the menu to anyone - We had the Sizzling Salmon one night and at the end of the week we ordered their Beef and Ale Pie - would recommend this highly Hopefully we will be booking again for next year.
