This is a case of lots of small irritations accumulating into a deal breaker. We stayed for about 2 weeks, after a while we all realised that it was actually quite a dour little place. It's on three floors and the bottom stairs are a bit lethal so watch your step, if you are taller than 6ft watch your head. The kitchen has no window, and even though it was well equipped, it was difficult to use. None of the pans are non-stick.There is a washing machine, everything was there except washing power. The most irritating thing was after the wash I realised there was no clothes horse only a small radiator airer which didn't work, so pants and nickers were on every heater in the house! The heaters are difficult to use with digital displays, so many times we arrived home to a cold damp house. The carpets were functional and tired with various stains and marks. Modern sofas with miserly cushions. Cheep room scent is a no no. The TV remotes didn't work. The bedroom (all very dated) pillows were flat and basic. This for me is a massive deal breaker, when away from home the very least everyone should expect is a good nights sleep. on the whole not a wonderful experience, its obvious that Sykes own this as it lacks a human touch.

Great spacious 3 bed cottage in central Mousehole. Cosy lounge with new comfy sofas and internet tv and WiFi (no phone signal). Well kitted out kitchen diner and 2 large bedrooms upstairs with very comfortable beds. Shower/bath seems new and a single bedroom off the lounge. Cupboards/wardrobes not used as smelt musty. A hairdryer would have been nice! You can drive to drop off, load and unload outside but parking in peak season is challenging. Harbour car parks are usually full at £3 24 hours or for £9 for 24 hours you can park up the road. Bin day is Wednesday. All of the road bring their bins to outside mural cottage so Tuesday night the flies and smell was not pleasant then Wed morning at 8.00am the bin men arrived shouting and emptying all the bins right outside the lounge and main bedroom window. The caretaker decided to just let herself into the cottage the night before we were due to leave without knocking or checking first whilst we were still there. Despite leaving a message to find out why she would think this is acceptable there has been no contact or apology. Finally the properties out the back are being renovated so if you are planning to stay in for a quiet day then don’t!! If this is to be used for a base in a beautiful location then it’s a good price, wonderful location with great facilities in the cottage.

Mural Cottage is delightful; the kitchen is well equipped.. All three bedrooms are equally comfortable. This was our second visit, the first was in a hot summer (and the cottage was cool), and the second visit was in winter, (always warm to return to). We hope to return in future.

This was our first holiday with Helpful Holidays since 2013 having used you 5 or 6 times previously to that, so we were a little worried that being part of the larger Sykes group may have a negative effect.. Thankfully our concerns were unfounded and everything was up to the standards of previous bookings. The cottage is just what we want for a Cornish getaway and Mousehole is beautiful as always.

Parking is obviously a complication and I think must be worse in peak season.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lacked a hair drier.. As there is no telephone difficult to contact the caretaker and when we did it was just a message. The property is unfit for anyone with only a slight disability, due to the steep stairs and cottage location up a steep hill.Very difficult to access by car having to reverse back up a narrow lane every time, otherwise we had a nice holiday.

This is a great holiday cottage.. It's in the centre of Mousehole and in a quiet location. The cottage is very well stocked with everything you need for self catering. The car park is only 100 yards away and is only £3 per day. There are supermarkets a couple of miles away at Newlyn. It's a very good base to explore the Lizard and Lands End area of Cornwall.

We've stayed in Mural Cottage before, so we knew it.. It's very convenient for the centre of Mousehole, and a good sea view from one of the bedrooms. The cottage is clean and well presented, warm and comfortable, and we had a great holiday. Of course, Mousehole is a fishing village without easy parking, and, because of the cottage's situation, people staying there have to be prepared for an adventurous bit of reversing into a narrow lane when unloading and loading at the beginning and end of the holiday, and to negotiate with neighbours to move cars. So long as visitors know to expect this, that's fine. We found the best place to park in the evenings is, rather than the harbour car parks, on the road from Newlyn, where there are roadside spaces which are at the moment free. Bonus: a pleasant walk beside the sea, with all of Mount's Bay spread out before you. Other tips: rubbish collection is on Weds, and you have to wheel the bin quite a way to a collections point. Good idea to bring extra clothes pegs: washing machine works well. Oh, and, yes, there IS a mural!
