This was a brilliant place to stay and in some respects the listing didn’t quite do it justice.. The situation and outlook are first class. We were delighted with our holiday and certainly hope to return.

Best of all worlds, peaceful, gorgeous setting and yet just 15 minutes walk from Shrewsbury town centre with all of it's architecture, museums, bars and restaurants, so location was spot on and the actual property was simply wonderful for my wife and I to enjoy some well deserved battery-charging time together..

Very well equipped, spacious, light and airy accommodation, friendly helpful owners.. Delightful location overlooking the Rea Brook. Cosy when it was cold out, lovely in the conservatory when it was warm. This cottage is comfortable and homely whatever the weather. Ideal peaceful location for exploring the area. Buses to town every 20 mins during the week. Or a 15 minute walk to the Greyfriars Bridge and then the riverside and town centre. Walks from the property include the Rea Brook and Shropshire Way. The owners very kindly collected us from the station. We wouldn't have needed a car for our holiday taking advantage of the local buses and a fixed fare Taxi to/from Attingham Park (Shrewsbury Taxis). Bus 576 from town goes to Oswestry meandering through villages and countryside. We were impressed that instructions (such as for using the TV) were so simply laid out and crystal clear. Other owners please note! We appreciated the owners' kindness and generosity in making sure this was one of our best holidays with Sykes.

The owner was very helpful and although they lived next door we felt we had the place to ourselves.. Not at all intrusive and gave us a nice cake and bottle of wine to welcome us. I would gladly recommend this property to anyone considering a stay in Shrewsbury.

The location is brilliant.. Shrewsbury town centre is walkable in about 15 minutes. Alternatively, there is a bus stop about 5 minutes away. We didn't take a car, and didn't need one. The setting is great. Every room looks out on a large beautifully-kept lawn which slopes down to a winding brook. Beyond that is a golf course. Very secluded and peaceful. The owner is the perfect host - available to help when needed, but otherwise leaves you alone to do your own thing. Plus, we really appreciated the bottle of wine and home-made sponge cake waiting in the kitchen when we arrived. If I'm ever vacationing in the Shropshire area again, this will be my first choice of accommodation.

Vanessa was an outstanding hostess.. When we were lost in Shrewsbury, she came to lead us to the cottage. The cottage is very spacious, seemed even larger than it appeared on the website. Bus service into the city center was excellent. It was amazing to be in a cottage that felt like a farm, but is in a busy city.

The beautiful surroundings of this cottage made our break so much more enjoyable. The photos don't do it justice. The property was very comfortable (sofas, beds) and had everything we needed. The owners has two dogs, one of which paid us regular visits, at our encouragement, which was such a pleasure. There was a delicious huge cake on our arrival which was very well received after travelling and not having any food as we had come by train. The owner also gave us a lift to and from the station which was very much appreciated (elderly parents). There is no mention on the website but there is a No 27 bus at the top of the road which takes you into the centre of Shrewsbury (under 10 mins). I would not hesitate to return to this property if I was visiting Shrewsbury again. The comfortable sofa bed was already made up for us in the dining area and this is next to the main bedroom.

Kemps Eye Cottage was fantastic. Set in beautiful gardens with a Brook at the end of the property. The conservatory was lovely to relax in, in the mornings. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful without interfering.
