Area
On the River Great Ouse sits the famous mediaeval port of King's Lynn, which dates to the 12th century. The town is a treasure mine for history buffs, with large merchant homes, art galleries, museums, and the Custom House, a Grade I listed edifice that was constructed in 1683 by Henry Bell. The town retains its original winding streets and alleys, and boasts good shopping facilities, with a combination of national retailers and specialist shops, along with a selection of pubs and restaurants. The West Norfolk shoreline is easily accessible by car, and most of the surrounding Norfolk countryside has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Particularly Hunstanton is well known for its stunning beaches and sunsets. A number of locations along the coast provide boat excursions, and the Norfolk Coast Cycleway connects King's Lynn with Cromer. A short drive away is Sandringham, the magnificent rural residence of The Queen, and it is highly recommended that you stop by the spectacular Visitor Center there.

My wife and I with our dog "Buddy" have just spent a very relaxing weeks holiday at "Jacks Corner in Roydon". Excellent place to stay with everything you would want or need is there . So handy for all the attractions of North Norfolk . Lesley and Trevor are such a friendly couple . Look forward to visiting there again.

Fantastic accommodation great location too, spotless and had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay.. Dog bowls and treats were also a brillant touch and bottle of wine also! Perfect location and very quiet we used garden to sit out with our meal most evenings, dispite being next to the pub we heard no noise at all. We did spend two evenings in the pub also which was very welcoming and its a proper rural pub! Owners Lesley and Trevor are a lovely couple and were so welcoming and looked after us. Highly recommended would defiantly stay again!

Jack's Corner is one of the most relaxing cottages we have stayed in! The hosts are so welcoming and left wine, milk and other goodies out for our arrival, and even provided treats, bowls and a towel for our dog! We loved everything about it; the decor, the safe, enclosed garden, the privacy, peace and quiet was wonderful. Even though it is a small cottage, there is plenty of room for a couple and the kitchen is very well equipped. The shower room was wonderful too with soft fluffy towels provided for us. There is so much to see around this area and the beaches are amazing! We would definitely book here again and highly recommend it for couples & their pets.

A very enjoyable holiday.. The studio is fitted out to a high standard and the garden was great for our little dog. It is totally secure and very pretty. a Real sun trap. There was absolutely no noise from the pub and we were made very welcome by Trevor and Lesley. There are lots of dog walks in the area. The best beach we found was Old Hunstanton which is a dog friendly beach and is very large. Sheringham is also a great place to visit. I was amazed at how many dog friendly places we found all over the area. If you need petrol or a supermarket then Asda is only a couple of miles away on the King's Lynn road and King's Lynn has all the shops you could ever want.

The little cottage had its own parking space, courtyard enclosed for your dog, fire pit, patios and flower beds. There was a little porch before entering the kitchen and double doors from the lounge area onto a patio. It was quiet, very well kept, very clean and just overall perfect. The 2 that we saw (due to the owners being on holiday) were amazing. They were friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile for my birthday. They looked after the dog with providing bowls, dogs treats and a towel and dry the dog after the treks on the coast. The bathroom was superb, good heating including underfloor heating. Self catering kitchen with all the amenities. I cannot stress enough how everything was just perfect here. We deffnitely will be back again!

Jack's Corner is beautifully presented and cosy.. Despite being situated behind the Union Jack pub, we had a relaxing and peaceful stay, with no noise or disruptions. The village of Roydon is attractive, with plenty of walks for our Bassett Hound and the local people are very friendly. Trevor and Leslie made us welcome and we would also recommend tasting the ales at the Union Jack!

Lovely cottage which almost joins onto the owners pub.. The pub does not do food but there are places nearby. The owners are very helpful and if you have any questions or needs they will assist you. We were made to feel extremely welcome. It is an ideal base to visit North Norfolk. Around 1 hour 30 to the Broads. Possibly the best holiday we have had in the 7 years of using Sykes

A lovely spotless hideaway for two it may not be very big but it has all you want for a nice quite getaway.. your own sun spot garden enclosed, ideal for dog owners, your own private parking space, pub door approx; 30 steps away, mine host and their customers were extremely friendly, Lesley and Trevor could not do enough for you. No meals at the pub but others locally. 15 out of 10 for a ideal romantic getaway. Will go again, visitors book speaks volumes.

This is a very comfortable and spotless cottage, with very pretty garden area.. Also very secluded and secure for dogs. The owners Trevor and Lesley made us very welcome and were happy to help with any local information, places to visit or places to eat etc. This was our second visit and was as enjoyable as the first. Being behind the Union Jack pub was very convenient, it was a lovely old country pub, everyone very friendly and dogs were welcome too. Didn't hear any noise from there at closing time either. Hope to visit again in the future.

A little gem of a ‘bed sit’ style cottage situated in a private location behind the owners ‘s public house .. Very quiet ( no noise from any traffic or from the pub ). Whilst the cottage is relatively small there was ample space, good heating ( I was there in November ) and it is well appointed. My only slightly negative comment is that the seating is a little ‘firm ‘ after sitting for a while. Certainly no big problem. Roydon village is well located for King’s Lynn and the Norfolk coast. I was there for a week of cycling. An ideal place for access to the seaside villages and the quiet country lanes.

Outstanding holiday cottage we arrived 2 adults two small dogs, we were met by Lesley & Trevor who gave us the keys and showed us into the most wonderful cottage all one level completely secure for the dogs.. A bottle of wine chews and biscuits for the dogs greeted us . Kitchen was spotless everything you need microwave etc. A bed covered with quality bedding and throws lovely decoration cushions to match interior. Bathroom very clean and modern heated towel rail lovely shower Garden with BBQ lovely spaces to sit in the sun table two chairs to eat outside. Well maintained garden so relaxing sitting there in the sunshine. We slept well woke up to swallows singing a perfect holiday home. All we did was sleep and eat so relaxing. The most beautiful little cottage, with all needed amenities - including a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. The owners are the most lovely people who couldn't do enough to help us over the weekend. The cottage is situated behind a lovely little pub run by the cottage owners, we made so many friends and there was karaoke and live music all weekend, however please note from the cottage you can't hear a thing. Loved this place and there was lots to do, also dog friendly and our puppy Cassie had a great time. Furthermore for being dog friendly the cottage was spotless! No issues. We are already talking about coming back. Please note previous review regarding owners dog, we had no issues at all, dogs do bark on arrival and it is suggested if your not a dog person just walk past. Personally I wouldn't approach a doggie I didn't know close enough for it to reach my face.

This is a small but lovely cottage, modern kitchen & shower room and underfloor heating which made it really cosy. The bed is in the living room but there is a sofa and outdoor seating. It is situated behind a pub but there is no noise from it at all. The driveway is gravelled and slightly awkward to negotiate if you're not used to manouvering on gravel. The one thing that spoiled our holiday though was being bitten by the owners dog when we went into the pub to collect the keys. He acknowledged it had happened but no-one said sorry and the lady owner said nothing even though I was bleeding from a cut on my cheek bone. We didn't see the owners again all week as I refused to go back into the pub. We had booked through Sykes and said in our review what had happened and suggested they advise an alternative location for key collection. Their response was pathetic, it basically consisted of excuses from the owners about why it wasn't their fault. There is a previous review in the guest book which mentions the owners 'vicious' dogs.

The owners of this property were outstanding in the presentation, cleanliness, décor and the way in which we were welcomed. I must say that my wife and I would love to express our surprise at the wonderful way we were treated by the owner's customers in their pub The Union Jack when we called in for a drink. If all people were like this what a different world it would be.
