Wooler, known locally as 'The Gateway to The Cheviots,' boasts a variety of hotels and restaurants and is a fantastic base for visiting Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Wooler is located on the outskirts of the Northumberland National Park, just a short drive from the historic town of Alnwick with its famed Castle and Gardens, as well as the well-preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Chillingham Castle, with its ancient herd of wild white cattle, and Coldstream, close across the Scottish border, are both within a short drive.
