Hawkrigg Cottage is a superb cottage, situated on a working dairy farm in the Lune Valley and is just three miles from the lovely market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and can sleep four people. The cottage has a ground floor double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a ground floor bathroom and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area. Outside there is off road parking for one car with additional parking available by arrangement with the owner, lockable bike storage and a patio. Hawkrigg Cottage is a lovely place to spend your self-catering holiday.

Two bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double with TV, 1 x twin, 1 x cot room. Ground floor bathroom with bath, drench shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale has a weekly market and interesting shops. The surrounding area is great for country walks, with the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales within easy reach.

The cottage is on a working farm and you can watch the cows coming out of the milking shed out of a large window that offers beautiful views over the Lune Valley. You don’t enter the farm to get to the cottage but via a gated tarmac road that leads to it. The cottage is spacious and well finished ,comfortable but the upstairs bedroom is not suitable for older children. It is only about 3 miles from the lovely town of Kirkby Lonsdale which has a good selection of cafes,restaurants and shops.Also it only an hour from the Lake District and a exerlant location for visiting the western side of North Yorkshire. To sum up my wife and I agree we would both go back again without any hesitation.

Our week at Hawkrigg cottage was perfect.. The cottage on a working farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The view from the large window Was amazing and wonderful to get up to each morning. The cottage has excellent facilities. We had a very warm welcome from Emma who was very helpful. We hope to visit again.

Our second visit to this fabulous cottage, and just as good as we expected from first time.. Lovely views, close to lots of activities, lovely countryside, and a friendly welcome. The cottage is in great condition and has everything you might need as a base to explore, or to sit out a rainy day! Hopefully we’ll be back again...

The cottage is in a stunning location, perfectly situated for exploring the Dales and southern Lakes.. It is superbly appointed, comfortable and very well equipped. Emma was very kind and helpful and happy to share local knowledge. We hope to visit again!

We loved our stay at hawkriigg cottage.. Right between the lakes and the dales meant it was a great base to explore and get the most out of our holiday. Kirkby Lonsdale only a couple of minutes by car was lovely with a nice array of shops and pubs. Also a great river for the hotter weather, the kids loved paddling! The cottage itself was exactly as described, bright and spacious, finished really nicely and right in the middle of a working dairy farm. And although it was a working farm you wouldn’t really know it most of the time, it still felt fairly secluded and peaceful and a great place to relax. If in the area in the future would love to stay again.

We love privacy and peace and quiet.. The house was very nice inside. We didn't realise we were right in the midst of a 'working farm' and milking started at 5 or 6 am daily. I was disappointed there was no private garden. Photos can be a little deceptive. Also there was a complex Lune Valley Lodges just behind our cottage, part of the same concern. Thankfully we weren't disturbed by them, but we would not have chosen to be within earshot. The owner was friendly when she returned from holiday midweek.

The cottage was well furnished.. The kitchen had more utensils, etc. than one normally finds in self catering accomodation. Instructions for using all the kitchen appliances were available. The owner came to check we were settled in, she was lovely and very helpful. I would totally recommend this cottage. We have a son and daughter ages 7 and 9 and they both loved their room and the games, books, etc. available to them in the cot room or playroom as they called it! Sky sports and movies were brilliant bonus and the wifi signal didn't falter once.

Hawkrigg Cottage is absolutely lovely.. Set in a beautiful area with stunning views from the windows. Lovely to see the cows go for milking and the lambs, dogs and hens. The cottage is very comfortable - especially the bed! We slept so well in this quiet location. When the sun shone it was very warm - like sitting in a greenhouse. Great shower and heating too. Ideally placed to visit the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. We also visited Blackpool Tower Ballroom - just an hour down the motorway and a must for Strictly fans! Emma (and Nellie the dog) were very friendly and on hand should you need anything. Definitely return to this lovely cottage.

This cottage was perfect for our family, two adults and a 6 & 3 year old.. The bathroom is so luxurious and the living space is comfortable, modern and well equipped for families. We spent many happy hours relaxing there. The view is beautiful and we were made to feel so welcome by the adjacent house (the owners). The cottage is well located - you can go for walks from the cottage itself, or drive into near Kirkby Lonsdale for an ice cream or some shopping. We can't wait to book again!

We had a beautiful stay at Hawkrigg.. The views are spectacular and there's so much to do nearby. Huge favourites were the Ingleborough trail and cave and driving out over the Yorkshire dales to Hawes. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely town - we particularly enjoyed walking along the river by the devil's bridge up to Ruskin's view, as well as trips to Lancaster and Morecombe. The cottage itself is very comfortable, with lovely little touches like books and games for the children, and Emma was very welcoming and helpful. The attic bedroom did get a little warm at times, but was more than compensated for by the lovely shower!

We enjoyed the farm location, watching the various farming activities.. The views from the cottage were stunning and the building was a sun trap. At times it was like sitting in a conservatory. Good attention was paid to providing colourful plants in pots around the cottage. The family were welcoming and friendly.

The view from the cottage was absolutely stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed being situated on a working farm and being surrounded by plenty of animals. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of information on things to do whilst we were there. Kirkby Lonsdale is 3 miles away and is easy to walk to with lots of beautiful views along the way and had a range of things to do and see, and is worth a visit. This cottage was absolutely perfect.. Nestled against the hills with an amazing view, it couldn't have been more perfect for our purpose, which was a writing retreat. The welcome we received was lovely, and the property was warm and cosy when we went in. The kitchen is brilliant and fantastically equipped. The television even has Sky which was a bonus. The bedrooms are comfortable with ample storage. The local area is just beautiful, perfect for walkers or anybody looking for a nice, peaceful getaway from the chaos of modern life. We stayed at Hawkrigg for a short business trip. Everything went like clockwork from start to finish. Directions were good and key collection easy peasy on arrival. The location is delightful and the views from the living room are breath-taking. Emma popped in to check if everything was ok when we got there and was on hand if we needed anything. She was extremely friendly and helpful and even left us a bottle of wine and some (very indulgent!) cake! We would definitely recommend Hawkrigg. It is clean, new and beautifully decorated. As the twin room upstairs is under a gable it would probably be more suited to children, however my sister slept in the upstairs room and managed just fine.

We stayed here the first week in January for 1 week. It really is the most fantastic place. The cottage was immaculate and spacious and the views were amazing. Emma and family were so helpful and friendly made us feel very welcome and even left us a cake. We stayed in the cottage for most of the week as we just wanted to chill out and this was a perfect setting to relax . We did visit Kirkby Lonsdale which was a lovely little place and just a short drive from the cottage. We would definitely come back again.

Upon finding Hawkrigg Cottage, which was made simple by great directions, we unpacked our bags and pretty much immediately felt at home. The cottage itself is finished to a very high standard, was immaculate and to top it off there was a homemade cake in the kitchen for us that was fantastic and a bottle of wine in the fridge. 1st impressions count; the cottage made a good start and didn't falter throughout our whole stay. Ideally situated between the Lakes and the Dales, it was great for day trips to either and it was always a pleasure to return to the cottage, cook dinner and have a night in front of the TV. If you have a desire to eat out, the village of Kirkby Lonsdale is a few minutes drive down the road and has a number of good places to eat. We genuinely couldn't have been more pleased with the cottage and would go back tomorrow if we could. If you're looking for a cottage to base yourself then I recommend Hawkrigg Cottage, it's everything you need and a ridiculous bargain.
