Area
Crantock is a small Cornish village set back from the coast close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the north to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

Region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

We were able to check in very early which was greatly appreciated.. The patio gate was removed for repair the day we arrived and was replaced by a rusted temporary stair gate. It rained a lot which showed up leaking gutters and a disconnected down pipe on the adjacent property, Cormorant. The security system controls are sited, unlabelled, right by the bathroom under floor heating controls and were mistakenly fiddled with, causing mayhem! We couldn’t find any instructions for the cooker. Sleeps four but would be very cramped for four adults. West Pentire is a lovely, quiet area, ideal for coastal walks and there are two good eateries close by.

Just for comfort it would be lovely to have some sort of foot stool/pouffe for when relaxing on an evening..

We love both the cottages we have stayed in, perfect in every way and return year after year.. But we were affected by the noise of the building works and noise from the builders including bad language, we had to resign to closing doors and windows and felt our privacy and quiet time was effected greatly, the fabulous sea views softened the blow ....

The views from Guillemot are lovely and the location is perfect for access to the coastal path and local beaches.. We were lucky enough to see seals on Porth Joke beach and swimming around the Headland an near Crantock Beach.

The cottage was perfect for us.. Primarily a great location for walking the coastal path and taking our dog to the beaches. The cottage was well provided and had everything we needed.

Lovely modern accomdation in a beautiful setting.. Walks from the door, which was great for the dogs. A great base to explore Cornwall. Left feeling relaxed ready to face the world again!

A lovely spot.. An ideal base for the beach and coastal walks. Super communication from both the owner and Naomi (Property Manager) was brilliant! Only groans: the LPG payment, we left £10.00 cash, although the actual cost was £8.75. Felt this should be factored into the holiday cost. Toilet flush was a little temperamental and the toilet seat on the wrong way.

Excellent holiday.. Naomi the house manager was extremely helpful and friendly. There was a slight problem in the toilet in that the flush was often difficult to operate - it just didnt flush. We felt that the patio area was a bit small and too enclosed - you couldnt see the sea when sitting on it.

Just had a wonderful week here.Took my Mother for her 90th birthday. Great for young and old alike also for touring local places, Newquay/Perranporth/Polly Joke all close by. Lovely coastal walks and wonderful scenery. The property is first class, absolutely spotlessly clean and homely. Just sank into the wonderfully comfortable beds.Great views of the sea. Nothing too much trouble.

A beautiful cottage overlooking the stunning Crantock beach, although our favorite was the quieter Poly Joke just down the hill. A great welcome from the property manager on arrival alongside tea/coffee making facilities and Cornish shortbread- a lovely touch! The newly refurbished cottage was a wonderful surprise as we also stayed last summer, although we didn't feel it was needed as it was lovely the previous year- still a wonderful job of refurbishing the bathroom, kitchen, and most soft furnishings. Overall a great stay, beautiful scenery and breathtaking views of Crantock.

As an extended family group of 10 we booked Guillemot and Cormorant for our annual get together. We had three generations staying in the two properties which are next to each other. It worked really well as we all had our own space, could do our own thing, but still get together as a group through out the week. The two properties are lovely and Guillemot where we stayed was beautifully presented with a wonderful shower room, kitchen and comfortable sitting room with views over Crantock Bay. Again beds in all the properties were really comfortable and both properties were well appointed with even an expresso coffee machine in Cormorant. We have stayed in Crantock Village previously but the properties we had used were already booked so we thought we would give these two a go. We were not disappointed. They are so close to Polly Joke beach which is almost deserted with an away from it all feel. Guillemot is only 5 minutes from the beach over NT land which has wonderful views over the sea. We will be back next year to Crantock. We now have to decide if we stay in the village or come back to West Pentire, a tough choice. We dined out locally this year but also took advantage of Tesco delivering at the start of our holiday and again part way through. Seemed better to shop from the iPad that spend time in a supermarket when on holiday. The wonders of fast broadband.

A very tastefully decorated and furnished cottage. Compact well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a good sized living/ dining area. My husband and I had a very enjoyable mid week stay in March, the location was beautiful, and I would definitely stay here again.

The apartment is situated on headland with fabulous views over Atlantic. The close proximity to two great sandy beaches, ideal for families. The accomodation is well organised and comfortable with patio overlooking sea -great views! Well furnished with all one needs for a relaxing holiday. Great walks along cliff tops are easy to access and wonderful for wild flowers and birds. Did have problem with shower/hot water but with a quick reaction from property manager - problem was addressed.
