We wanted a cosy cottage that was dog friendly and this fitted the bill nicely. It is at the top of the steep hill out of Boscastle and after looking at Google maps we knew what to expect. Parking is an issue but these villages were not built for cars and again we expected this. It has a large car park down on the front for visitors but limited parking further up the hill. The cottage was lit up for our arrival and we felt very welcomed. We had a problem with the oven which was quickly sorted. Thank you. The only suggestion is to perhaps to make the info as to who to contact more prominent in the folder to make it easier than contacting the rental agent we used. We recommend that the mattresses are renewed as we found them uncomfortable. You could feel too many springs. We believe a little refurb is underway and this with new mattresses would have got a 5 star review. A definate cottage we would return to with its lovely garden and proximity - So no hill walking -to The Napolean pub which served good food and we would recommend booking in advance for the Sunday roast.

A lovely Easter break, the cottage was equipped for all our needs.. The garden was very prettty and peaceful and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Only negative was the parking- the roads around the cottage are very steep, tight and cars were fighting for a space to park.

Fuchsia cottage was very cosy, clean and comfortable.. The garden was a real bonus with a pretty outside space to sit.

Had to leave half way through as scurrying in the roof kept us up all night.. Parking was a nightmare and had to often park the car a 5 to 10 mon walk away.

***OWNER RESPONSE*** Thank you for your feedback.. Following the receipt of some adverse comments, the cottage has recently undergone a full overhaul of refurbishment, including improvements to the heating & lighting systems, damp prevention, full redecoration, together with new furniture. *** The cottage was damp and smelled constantly. In particular the sitting area and the twin bedroom. The two leather sofas were damaged and extremely uncomfortable due to the springs. The cottage was dirty and exhibited cob webs throughout. There was no clothes airer. There was no wood for the burner when we arrived. Did appreciate milk and little welcome pack. We would definitely not return nor recommend this property. We are very disappointed that we paid £608 to stay as we felt it clearly did not justify such a fee. Cath and Peter Mulvaney.

We have stayed in five Helpful holiday cottages in the past and all have been very good, with one exceptional, and have never had any complaints.. Fuchsia Cottage, sadly had many issues, and the price was not reflected in the quality of the property.I will list all the things that failed to meet our expectations. 1. Windows inside and out dirty. 2.Damp to the front wall of the property, visible on the inside walls leaving the cottage smelling damp and musty. 3. Freezer compartment so frosted up that the little door wouldn't shut.( we spoke to Steve the caretaker, informing him we would leave the fridge open to defrost on the morning of our departure.) 4. Sofa is uneven and uncomfortable to sit on with springs sticking into you. 5. information box with local attraction leaflets,as mentioned in the cottage folder was missing. 6. Not enough pegs and the springs were all rusty. 7. No indoor airing rack to hang up wet clothes/towels. 8. wooden ground floor was hoovered but filthy. We dropped some food on the floor, and when I wiped it up with a wet kitchen towel was shocked at how black it was. 9.Bathroom windowsill tiles have gaps in the grouting, water ingress is unavoidable as the shower curtain does not fit that far. 8. The front gutter is blocked and the down pipe disconnected. Water just poured off the roof in front of the double bedroom window to the ground when it rained. This did not detract from our stay, but obviously needs addressing. The property in general is very pretty but is tired looking. It craves a little TLC. We would like to add that Steve the caretaker was very nice and replaced the leaking shower hose as soon as we reported it to him.

Had an issue with smell of urine in double bedroom - this was resolved the next day once reported, caretaker/cleaner helpful, cleaned mattress and able to remove carpet stains ( case COR-70609-CF tried to e mail a feedback form but unable to do so " Sorry page not found").. The cottage fitted the description and was in a very good location. Apart from the unpleasant smell, the sofas were very uncomfortable and the rug downstairs small and grubby with newspaper underneath. There were visible stains on the upstairs fitted carpet in several places including the bedrooms. Heating and apliances good. Garden could have been lovely but was spoilt by lack of maintenance, straggly shrubs, foxy smells and generally needing an overhaul.

The patio provided a great, relatively private space where we were able to enjoy breakfast, given the weather.. The property was clean and well-equipped. Although an end of terrace property the thick walls meant that we heard nothing from our immediate neighbours. The locals all seemed very friendly. It was a good base for coastal walks. Whilst it was not possible to park outside the property, we were able to find parking in the surrounding streets.

The sofas could do with being replaced, otherwise the cottage is pretty much perfect!

Everything was exactly as described.. The cottage was well equipped and clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. We met the caretaker steve a very nice chap and helpful with food recomendations and things. We have used you before and will continue to do so. A great holiday

The cottage provided us with easy access to centre of Boscastle and also the coastal path but at the same time was quietly tucked away so we were able to 'retreat' when we wanted to.. During sunny periods the garden was a real bonus.

The instructions say it should be possible to park around a small triangle of grass near the cottage or outside the garden. The latter is impossible. It would block Paradise Road because cars park on the other side.  Only 5-6 cars can park around the grassy triangle. Most of the time there are no spaces. We had to park on the B road 300 metres away on some days. On another day we had to park 150 metres away down the other end of Paradise St. The next morning my windscreen wipers had been vandalised. We knew that no towels are provided when we booked. So it came as a surprise that we were provided with one large bath towel. If the owner can provide this towel why can't they provide enough towels for everyone? Given how much it costs to rent the cottage it is very petty not providing enough towels. The radiator in the master bedroom does not work properly. It emits only a tiny amount of heat. No recycling bags are provided. The proprietor gives no advice on recycling apart from photocopies of general recycling guidance from the Council. This is useless without bags or specific advice from the owner. The leather sofas facing the fireplace are very uncomfortable. We tried lots of cushions but still got backache.

Tolle Aussicht, schöner Garten, komfortables Cottage. Schöner Ort, klein und nett, nicht zu touristisch, aber auch steile Straßen, die Kondition erfordern, wenn man nicht nur Auto fahren will.
