Lovely cottage very pretty inside.. Clean and comfortable and very close to the centre. The walk down to the town was fine but it’s very steep walking back up so would be mindful of that. Also, the driveway in the photo is deceiving. We managed to just park a BMW 1 series and a mini on the drive but had to roll the mini back to open the door as not wide enough and there’s very little near by for on road parking so two small cars max. Also cottage was cold. boiler worked on and off all weekend. Owner was very helpful to help us sort it out the first night then it went off and came in again and wouldn’t go off. I didn’t want to spend all weekend talking about the boiler so with the 9am check out on the Monday which I think is too early we only stayed two nights. Enjoyed it just a shame it wasn’t cosy and also no starter pack ie pint of milk in fridge would have been nice at least. Just a non alcoholic bottle of wine?? Bakewell itself is lovely though. We had amazing food at a pub called The Woodyard and I’d highly recommend this food and drinks excellent great cocktails. Lovely bakewell pudding shop sold amazing cake too. Would come back I’d just bring throws and cushions to make it more cosy :-)

Corner cottage was a lovely place to stay during our visit to Peak District.. Few minutes walk to town centre and little bit longer to get back (as it is on a steep slope). Very well equipped and warm place to be. We actually managed to park 2 large cars in a driveway (pickup truck and 4x4). Hope to return on day as so many more walks to explore.

With some careful parking we were able to park a Honda Civic and a large Jeep Wrangler on the front drive.. The log burner is a lovely inclusion at the property and makes for a very cosy night in, very good and easy to use log burner.

Lovely cottage, clean modern furnishings with everything we needed.. Comfortably accommodated 5 adults and a teenager. Had a great weekend with the family would love to return in summer. Short downhill walk into Bakewell, and great location for a visit to Chatsworth.

A lovely well equipped cottage in a great location.. There are fantastic walks within easy reach and then lovely cosy pubs as a reward afterwards. I have booked through Sykes Cottages on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.

This cottage is extremely well located to access the town centre in a 10 minute walk with the countrside and brilliant views is only 10 minutes walk inland.. It was ideal to walk the dog. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was brilliant and the central heating was really warm. We would definitely stay there again. It is worth noting that the walk to the cottage from the town centre is up a faily steep hill, but it was good exercise and parking would just about fit two small cars. My Audi A3 fitted with some room to spare.

The cottage was lovely, and it was a nice touch that they left a bottle of wine for us.. . the parking was a bit of a challenge ( with two cars) but they had warned us about this. But a great place to stay.

We really enjoyed our holiday in your cottage but generally feel that it would be helpful to have another toilet when 6 people are staying! Also I gather from those people who cooked on our weekend that you could do with some more pans - especially larger ones. Otherwise I would say it was very well equipped. Thank you.

Parking was a bit of a nightmare but we did manage to get 2 cars on the front in the end so it worked out ok.. I think maybe the essentials like salt, pepper, and sugar could have been provided and also 2 rolls of toilet paper for 6 people wasn’t around for long. Apart from that is was peaceful and the location was perfect. I will definitely be back as it was extremely relaxing.

This cottage was lovely. The furnishings and equipment seemed new. Even had a Sonos. You can get 2 large cars on the driveway if you are careful (see pic). Short steep walk into Bakewell. Cannot think of anything missing.

Cottage is in a great location with just a 5 minute walk into town although the walk back is a bit slower as it’s up quite a steep hill! The off-road parking is a godsend, but it would be a tight squeeze for 2 cars as the advert claims.

A fabulous cottage, beautifully decorated & maintained with everything you could need.. Parsnip the Cocker loved it, it was a great location for us; we had a lovely time and - being there for a fortnight - we had plenty of time to get used to the hill from the town! Oh yes, & thank you Sykes Cottages for the fantastic weather you arranged for us!

The cottage was perfect, clean ideally located and comfortable.. The walking was amazing with a stunning view around every corner. Bakewell is a lovely little town. As a Yorkshire woman it's very difficult to say this but I actually think The Peak District is more beautiful than The Yorkshire Dales. A Holliday enjoyed by all.

The cottage is perfectly located near Bakewell - we could walk into the town for shopping, for food and for many beautiful walks in the hills.. There is a short but very steep hill up to the cottage but it was ok for all of our party. The neighbours to the cottage are very friendly and would often chat to us on our way out. Whilst we were there the weather was lovely and we had a brilliant holiday relaxing, shopping, visiting other towns and doing walks around the area. Further up the hill there is a school which the neighbours told us rents out rooms to people during the holidays. On the Saturday night we stayed there was a very loud party at the school into the early hours of Sunday which kept some of our party awake. The parking on the front of the house was plenty big enough for a fiesta and saab. The cottage itself was comfortable, modern and clean. Our party consisted of four adults and two teenagers and the house sometimes felt a little small for all of us The furnishings are good quality and the shower is lovely. The kitchen appliances are good but the kitchen would benefit from more crockery as there was only 6 of everything and 6 of us staying there - this meant every time we ate we had to wash up before the next meal. The beds were comfortable with good bed linen but I would recommend you take more pillows as these are very flat. There is a small patio area outside which is a lovely suntrap (but only 4 chairs were provided to sit outside).

What a great cottage this is clean and tidy with some nice bonus features like smart tv and Sonos music player, the off road parking is a big big help in Bakewell as parking is a problem.. The cottage is in a convenient location for the village just a five minute walk to all amenities but a small hill climb back, Really enjoyed this holiday 7 days of solid sunshine who could ask for more and who needs to go abroad.

Great cottage, beautifully decorated and had everything you would need.. Location is very central to Bakewell. It is on a steep hill so not suitable if you have mobility issues. Bakewell town is lovely to stay in and there is a great choice of pubs, restaurants and shops near the cottage and lots of beautiful walks. Parking outside the cottage, suitable for one large car (we had a 4x4 and would only be able to fit one car) but two small cars may fit. Overall super cottage and we would definitely stay again.
