Met on arrival by Sue the owner who made us feel most welcome, showing us around and kindly making us a drink.. Cottage is an ideal retreat to relax in with the gardens and grounds looking beautiful adding to the peace and quiet of the area which is wonderful. Cottage ideally situated for places to visit. We all highly recommend a stay at Colly cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage, very clean.. And owners very friendly . Easy access to all local places of interest . Will definitely be booking again . Only negative was local pub was not walking distance and didn't seem to offer much

Location wonderful but photos very misleading.. Based on photos and price we were expecting luxury and found it disappointing. Property is unusual in providing 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and on that basis plus the impression of luxury we made the booking. However the aspect was to the rear and not to the attractive front shown in the photo. The living/kitchen arrangements were very compact and the kitchen was especially worn out. Other than the upstairs shower and a fan heater in the living room there was no heat in the house making even the drying of towels difficult. The shower cubicle was very stained. The electric kettle was dreadful, with a filter completely limed up. Overall conclusion very over-priced compared with other properties we have rented in recent years.

This cottage is a beautiful character cottage set in the countryside with stunning views.. I have to say I was presently surprised as I didn’t feel the pictures did it justice (normally I find it the other way around with expectations being better than reality). Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and the area - definitely will return.

Colly Cottage is in a lovely location.. We found the location easily, and parking was not a problem. It is well placed in West Dorset close to Bridport and West Bay. It was clean and well presented. Having a bedroom with en-suite downstairs, was great for my mother, as she finds stairs a bit of a challenge. Sue our host was very friendly, and we loved her two dogs and cat who popped in most days to give us a look. My only gripes were, we found the kitchen area a bit cramped, and the sink in an ackward position. Due to the location most days, internet and mobile phone use is not possible. However, I guess most people would welcome that ? Overall though a really pleasant holiday, in a lovely location.

Quiet rural setting on working farm. Generally disappointed in cottage accommodation, but area lovely and well worth exploring. Small kitchen area. Cupboards dated and bit smelly. Plenty of utensils/crockery etc but not much spare storage space for your own stuff really. Fridge and oven worked fine. Take your own tea towels as ones provided hopeless and have no absorbency value at all. Bathroom towels fine though. Nice small patio area. Good wifi. No phone signals on either of our mobiles (different networks). Low soft settees. Living space would be tight for 4 adults. Water very hot and good pressure. Cobwebs and spiders more than would have expected, even for a rural setting. Perhaps needs new cleaner as looked generally tired and in need of spring clean. Plenty of good touring information provided.

Beautiful location and owners we had a really great weeks break thank you all concerned..

The main picture of the cottage is, in fact, a photo of the owners' cottage.. Colly cottage is round the back - much less pretty and a very misleading picture. All of the other photos portray innacurately tidy, clean and ordered rooms - in fact, the living room was cluttered with further random pieces of furniture as was the upstairs bedroom. We were fascinated by the TV stand which was full of books and facing the wrong way. The stuff portrayed hanging on the walls has been replaced with tackier hangings. Everything was dusty round the edges and the oven stank of burnt meat juices whenever it was used. The owner, without letting us know, let himself in to adjust the shower while we were out leaving dirt and what I think was glue residue on the floor of the shower. His wife, at one point, simply tapped on the door and walked in with a 'hello.' To drive out of the gate was simply risky as in both directions, it was impossible to see traffic coming - had a couple of near misses with tractors. Worst for us was that it was situated on a working livestock farm, a fact that is not mentioned in the blurb about the cottage and a fact that would have meant we'd not have looked at the cottage as we are vegans.

The owners, John and Sue Dean, are very welcoming and helpful.. A superb place to use as a centre when exploring South Dorset and South East Devon.

A lovely cottage very well presented.. However the picture above bears no relation to anything I saw, it must have been the other side of the building. Also I would have liked the shower in the upstairs bedroom to have been hotter. I suspect the temperature had been set low due to wretched H&S concerns. The above not withstanding I would happily book again.

August 2017
A lovely setting with adequate accommodation, antique furniture and beautiful curtains. However, the place needed a really good clean. Thick dust and cobwebs in every room. The windows hadn't been cleaned in a while and the bathrooms and kitchen were particularly grimy. Hopefully, now that this has been reported to the agents, the matter will be seen to. Otherwise a very pretty addition to the main farmhouse building.

The cottage is in an excellent location, attached to the main farm house. There is ample parking at the cottage. The layout was perfect for 4 people with both bedrooms having an ensuite. It was fully equipped including wifi. We enjoyed BBQs on the enclosed patios in the evening in the sun. Sue, the owner was very friendly and gave us advice on places to eat. Would definitely stay again & recommend it.

The cottage was extremely well furnished and very comfortable.. The owners could not have been more helpful. The location was excellent for walking and good places to eat. Lots going on, and the surrounding countryside is truly beautiful. The icing on the cake was the lovely weather while we were staying there. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family and we look forward to a return visit at some point in the not too distant future.

The accommodation fitted our needs perfectly - A ground floor bedroom with EN suite facilities for the disabled member of our group, and a spacious upstairs room with its own EN suite toilet and shower facilities for us. The dog was catered for by acres of ground, including a lake and attached fields. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, even arranging our first evening's dining! The location was excellent - within a short drive of bustling Bridport, and a little further to west bay and the coast. Lyme Regis should also have been close, but our visit coincided with major Roadworks across the area! It was a lovely break and we would recommend it to anyone: A beautiful spot in a beautiful county.
