I came out here because I had some online interviews to do and needed a retreat style place to fully focus. When I arrived I was blown away at the beauty of the interior. It felt luxury and cosy at the same time. Every piece of furniture, every detail was gorgeously thought out and made for the perfect stay. Not just standard things to fill a house, everything down to the mugs were luxury and made me feel like I was staying in someone's lovely home away from home. In terms of Birchover, it's a quiet, little village with kind people around but the walk opportunities are stunning. It was a little walk up the hill to the start of the 9 Ladies work and I had plenty of options to do more if I was staying for longer. The pubs close by are lovely, and equally the nearby villages are beautiful to visit too. Matlock and Bakewell are lovely to wander round and get fish and chips. I can't wait until I can go and stay again- a quiet, peaceful place with the most aesthetically pleasing interior which also makes you feel at home. I would recommend having a bath and then lighting the fire and reading a book. It's the best rest I've had in a long time.

I stayed at cloudberry for the weekend, looking for a nice relaxed weekend in Birchover. The cottage itself is beautiful. The interior is stunning and spacious. I feel the bath itself should have its own review, fantastic for relaxing after long walks and trips into Bakewell, Cromford and Matlock. The garden is a lovely setting for alfresco dining in the summer. Kitchen facilities are top notch, everything you need for dining in or packing up a picnic to take in the beautiful countryside. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. I can’t wait to come back.

We had a lovely time away.. The cottage is in a great location and was presented in a lovely state. The finishing touches of shortbread etc were really nice.

Super long weekend spent at Cloudberry Cottage.. The cottage was very cosy and warm, and spotlessly clean. The location is very quiet and peaceful, but not too far away from amenities. The double bed is so comfortable, and the kitchen very well equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again some time - I highly recommend staying here!

This is perhaps the best cottage I've ever stayed in.. I don't know why Sykes has only given it a 4 tick rating, as to my mind it's definitely a 5. Very tastefully and elegantly decorated, uncluttered, good quality furnishings and bed linen, really comfortable bed, great shower, fab kitchen, the whole house was immaculately clean. Actually more spacious than the photos here show. Had a really lovely time staying here. Very nice owner who's not intrusive.

Cloudberry Cottage was an enjoyable stay for us, located in a lovely village with two pubs (watch out for early kitchen closing in off season! ) and within easy reach of Bakewell, Haddon Hall & Chatsworth. The cottage was clean & tidy with nice decor and everything you might need during your stay. Passed on feedback to the owner that the radiator thermostats in bedrooms were broken, which he plans to fix.

Cloudberry Cottage.. What a beautiful find. So cosy. We appreciated that the owner paid attention to detail. Good quality kitchen appliances, utensils etc. Decent TV, good Dab radio in bedroom and Bluetooth speaker provider. Washing machine was useful too after some muddy walks. If you want cosy cottage, good walks, log burner and near good pubs...look no further. Delightful.

Cloudberry is a lovely cottage, exceptionally clean with a great log burner that needs no fussing to produce a lovely fire.. What we really lacked was a dishwasher, who needs a washing machine in a rental cottage? Take it out & replace it with a much needed appliance! Also the fridge has no freezer compartment so cannot make ice cubes for drinks, small thing but important to us. Other than that it was very good. Val Bestwick

Cloudberry Cottage was the best rented holiday accommodation my wife and I have ever had.. It was fully and efficiently supplied with everything anyone could need. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Everything worked. Information provided at the cottage was clear and extensive. Although we never met or communicated with the owner, we felt welcomed at this lovely place.

I’d recommend this cottage, it’s really lovely.. Fresh, Clean and nicely kit out. really great location for visiting lots of local attractions. Great walks from the doorstep (recommend the 9 ladies walk over Stanton Moor) lovely local pubs and our daughter liked the playpark just over the road. Bakewell and Matlock are really close by and well worth a visit, great selection of independent stores and both have great parks.

This was the first time we'd rented a cottage for our holiday - we usually stay in B&B accommodation, so we didn't know quite what to expect.. But there was no need for concern. Upon arrival, we found the cottage to be very clean and more than adequately furnished - a real home-from-home, in fact. The owners had kindly left us a "welcome pack" of basic essentials which was appreciated, also logs and fire-lighters in case we needed to use the log burner - we didn't, as the weather was lovely and warm during our stay. Bathroom toiletries had also been left for our use, again a nice touch, we thought. The cottage is located only a few miles from Bakewell and Matlock with Buxton also within easy reach and is ideally placed for the various activities and attractions on offer within the locality. We would heartily recommend Cloudberry Cottage to anyone looking to holiday in the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales.

I was visiting from Australia and my sister (who lives in the UK) and I decided to stay somewhere we had never been.. We settled on the Peak District and I found Cloudberry Cottage for us to stay in. It exceeded all expectations. It was so lovely to stay in a peaceful village in a gorgeous cottage. It was easy to get to Bakewell to buy supplies, and we found the courtyard was the perfect place for setting up our cheese platter and g&ts. I also went on anearly morning walk and it was easy to find the public footpaths to the nearby Moor. All instructions supplied in the cottage were easy to follow. Overall, I would highly recommended this cottage - our stay there was one of the highlights of my trip.

I said met expectations and not exceeded only because, as usual, everything was perfect.. I couldn't have expected any better. There was some milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which were all most welcome after a long drive. The cottage was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable.

This was a last minute booking and we kne very little about the area.. The cottage was stunning and very well equipped. It has been modernised and the owners put a lot of little extra touches throughout to make our stay comfortable. We loved Birchover and the location so near Chatsworth and the mountains.

Cottage was well equipped and very nicely decorated.. All the kitchenware was to a really high standard. We found the booklet of information provided really helpful and clear and used the maps for some great walks. The location is great for a walking holiday and the village pubs were welcoming with great beer. The addition of free WiFi makes the lack of phone reception far easier. Great little place.
