Windows filthy, shower very good but water didn’t drain away. Previous guests odd sock left about, kitchen floor hadn’t been washed. Old mouldy garden umbrella tossed to one side in the garden, mouldy lampshade in second bedroom, 2 dishwasher tablets, a washing cloth and tea towel left in sandwich bag...this was the welcome pack! Few tea bags and coffee pods, half a toilet roll and large wheelie bin full. The plus it allowed dogs, however I don’t see this as a reason for mediocre facilities. Westward Ho was tired but I think as there is lots of new building happening this could change in the not too distant future. Would never stay again.

I read the mixed reviews for this cottage so wasn't sure what to expect. However, when we arrived we found it to be clean, tidy and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything you could need both in terms of utensils and white goods and the outside shower was a god-send for our sandy dog and boots. The TVs worked well as did the WiFi, we didn't use the log burner but the heating made the cottage very warm and cosy. The beds were very comfortable and the location very quiet - though you could hear the waves in the distance, which was very pleasant. The parking was slightly tricky at first, and only room for 1 car, which was fine for us. The garden was a little overgrown, but being October, this didn't bother us. It was fully enclosed and safe for our dog. The location is great, 10 mins walk to shops, food shops, pharmacy and beach. It's uphill on the way back, but good for burning off those Devon teas! Close to Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Saunton. Somr good places to eat at Instow and Appledore. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back in the Spring.

I would not book this accommodation again. I contacted the managing agents after reading the review on here. The kitchen had been satisfactorily equipped. But there was 7 refuse bags full of rubbish (removed a couple of days later) and 2 full dustbins in the quite small garden. The garden should be very pretty but is strewn with weeds which grow through the AstroTurf and up through the drains. The garden furniture is long past its best, the delapitated b-b-q was supposed to have been removed, the parasol was broken and unusable. There is an air of neglect and, I felt, uncaring. I would not stay here again. We loved Westward Ho though, great family destination and super dog friendly!

On arrival was shocked it looked a dump cobwebs all over Windows which were filthy, inside was quite nice but kitchen was poor, 4 saucepan lids 2 saucepans only 2 rings seemed to work on hob, heating was left off and house was freezing no logs for log burner so called caretaker who took 2 days to come to put heating on. Remote to tv broken , which we were told would be replaced he didn't return. Garden was in poor state could have done with a sweep up . Astro turf was laid on uneven surface and parking was awkward very small area so needed to back into space. All the bad spoils what was nice. So wouldn't book again or recommend

On arrival at a small terrace on unmade road tight spot to back into.. Cottage looked dirty and unappealing with black cobwebs all over dirty Windows. Bbq in garden not fit for use. Garden needed a good sweep and tidy. Astro turf on uneven ground. Kitchen I cleaned on arrival as fridge covered in dirty finger prints. Only 2 rings on hob stayed alight so only ones that could use 4 saucepan lids 2 saucepans. Heating was off. No logs for log burner. Caretaker took 2 days to put heating on and failed to replaice broken TVs remote which he promised he would. Freezer drawers were dirty so didn't use. No folder to advise any local information or where boiler was or would have attempted to do heating ourselves. Any good was spoilt by things that could have easily been rectified the house in general was nice apart from kitchen area which was suffering from wear and tear 10 minute walk to town was a very steep walk up and down. Would have expected this to have been advised. Wouldn't book again
