This is a true cottage with some low doorways and beams and narrow staircases but they all add to the atmosphere of the cottage.. The location is good for access to main roads. Cottage clean and the owner very helpful and caring, leaving easter eggs for my young son and some wine.

The pictures to this cottage are lovely yet do not do Borrowers cottage the full justice it deserves! Upon arrival, my expectations were exceeded. No picture can portray just how unique, quaint, quiet and refined your holiday will be, nor define the historic atmosphere of the immediate area. The church can be seen from the windows to the rear and a thoughtful and unitrusive chime of the hour bells help coordinate the day! Being introduced and welcomed by Ro, the owner was great. Such a very kind and welcoming introduction and only lives 5 minutes away so, is on hand if needed and yet respectful of privacy. I am 5ft 8" and had no issues with head space so, don't be put off by the required health & Safety advice - it's an old cottage with two seperate staircases which gives added privacy to the second single bedroom. Located down a very quiet single cobbled lane, it is secluded yet has great parking for two cars. I have stayed in many cottages and this was spotlessly clean. I couldn't praise it more!

I stayed at Borrowers Cottage with my 13yr old son for a week at half term.. The cottage was beautiful and the location is idyllic. We couldn’t recommend highly enough - even the WiFi met my sons’s expectations! We will definitely return again - Shrewsbury, Church Stretton and surrounding areas are lovely.

This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location.. We received a very warm welcome from the owner, along with a bottle of wine and tasty cakes. She even sent us a text the next morning to check if everything was alright once we had settled in. We thought this was exceptional and a really nice touch. The cottage was much more spacious than we had expected, with a good sized breakfast kitchen, lounge and separate dining room. Even a separate dressing room next to the master bedroom. We are both 5'6" and the cottage just fitted us! We could comfortably walk through all the doors and under the beams, without ducking. We can imagine this being a bit tiresome for taller visitors though. The shower over the bath, in particular has a very low beam, but with care, is still perfectly usable. The location suited us very well, being a small village, but within easy reach of main roads. Beautiful walks in the Shropshire hills, historic sites and gardens, and the industrial archaeology of Iron Bridge Gorge, all within half an hour's drive. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Borrowers cottage was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped, very quaint with low beams and sloping ceilings in the bedrooms.. Ro met us and made us welcome with bread, milk and biscuits. The stairs were a bit steep but this is an old cottage so this is to be expected. Condover village has some lovely old buildings and a beautiful church and well situated in Shropshire for sightseeing and walks.

Well equipped cottage.. Probably not suitable for tall people due to low beams, especially in shower. We are average size so not really a problem. A welcome pack awaited us which was very nice. We found the leather settees a bit uncomfortable and this is the only reason we would not return. Situated in a small village with a good butchers. The cottage is especially suited to various attractions in Shropshire. The cottage suited our needs for the weeks holiday which w enjoyed very much.

What a beautiful restful cottage.. The moment we walked through the door we immediately felt relaxed. The equipment etc. is of the highest standard. We have stayed in many rented holiday cottages etc. but this cottage definitely eclipsed all the others. Ro, the owner was a delight, so, so helpful. Thank you so much.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Borrowers cottage.. Ro greeted us at the cottage and explained briefly about the heating and so on. She had very kindly left us a welcome basket of some scones and jam and there was also milk and tea and coffee. The cottage is along a very quiet lane of about 5 houses and we very much appreciated the peace and quiet.. It was very comfortable and very clean and lovely to come back to in the evening and chill out in front of the fire It is very well equipped particularly in the kitchen and we catered for ourselves every evening on return. We found the Shropshire locals to be extremely helpful and friendly and Condover itself is very pretty. I particularly enjoyed the snowdrops in the churchyard - never seem so many. There is a big supermarket 10 mins away in Shrewsbury as well as a local shop in the village. Although we did the usual walks - Long Mynd, Stiperstones and Wenlock Edge plus a visit to beautiful Ludlow and Church Stretton we left feeling there was still plenty we hadn't had time to see and we will certainly return to Shropshire and Borrowers cottage. Thank you for your hospitality Ro.

Beautiful cosy cottage, had everything you could need for a break away.. Nice to be greated by the owner to hand the keys to us and explain bit and bobs about the cottage. A text to make sure we settled in ok was a nice personal touch too. We also thoroughly enjoyed the bread and scones that were left for us, plus milk in the fridge for a cup of tea after a long drive! Decor was lovely and felt comfortable and at home straight away. Even with snow falling outside we were warm and cosy thanks to the woodburner. What was also great was having the regular radiators on and being able to alter the temperature ourselves. Comfortable bed in the main bedroom and it was a nice touch to have a dressing table in the smaller spare room. Great warm and powerful shower. Well equipped kitchen. Sweet courtyard out the back. Peaceful and pretty village. Lots of interesting places to visit near by. Overall our stay was relaxing and we felt comfortable and welcomed at Borrwers cottage.

We found the owners to be very accommodating and friendly.. As it was over the Christmas period they had gone to the trouble to decorate the living area tastefully which put us in a festive spirit. The cottage is comfortable and had every conceivable creature comfort as well as being clean and well decorated. This wasn't a holiday as such, we were visiting family in the village for the Christmas period and the siting of the cottage was ideal for our needs.

We loved everything about this cottage.. Only grumble from low door height from six footer who kept hitting his head! Only reason we wouldn't come back is we like to visit new places. Family research was the main reason for staying in Condover as wheelwright ancestors lived there for many generations. Condover has kept it's village character and very many of it's old buildings.

Borrowers cottage was a lovely place to stay, very well equipped and very clean! The cottage is in a perfect location in Shropshire, close to national trust properties and amazing walks! There were scones and bread on arrival at the cottage and a warm welcome from the owner, who offered great advice about the local area! Fab holiday! I would definitely go back!

I'm very late in leaving this feedback - we stayed in the cottage in October 2017 - but wanted to share my very positive experience.. Ro couldn't have been more helpful in her communications with me before and during our stay and it was nice to meet her on arrival with the keys and be shown around the property. Which is STUNNING by the way - the photos don't do it justice. I loved everything about it - the location, the peace and quiet, the style and quality of the décor, furnishings and fittings. We only stayed for a weekend for family reasons, but I could easily live there and hope to be back some time. The only drawback for my 6 foot 2 husband was the number of times he hit his head on the low door frames - despite the helpful warning signs! Thanks Ro - a fabulous place you have here.

Great personal service from the owner.. She met us on arrival to explain where everything was. We rent every year and this is only the second time this has happened. The cottage was beautifully maintained and a real home from home. Would certainly consider using it again in the future. Thank you.

Borrower's Cottage is a high spec cottage which meets every need.. The attention to detail is second to none. This is the best cottage we have stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few!) We received a very warm welcome from the owner and enjoyed the delicious bread, scones and wine that were left for us. Nothing is too much trouble for her. We would highly recommend this cottage, and hope to return.
