Area One of the real Cornish jewels is Port Isaac. The old village, a charming fishing community nestled in a valley with steep sides, has not altered since the previous century, when it was a centre for smuggling, slate export, and fishing. You can find a lot of little character homes mixed in with bigger cliff-top retreats, all with convenient access to the village's many eateries and shops. As the water recedes, the sandy harbour offers an abundance of rock pools. It is ideal for both romantic getaways and family vacations because it is only ten minutes by car from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer, and Rock. At the peak of the village, there is plenty of parking.
