It was a delight to stay in a cottage that was so clean and comfortable, many thanks to the owners ..
Mrs Chapman, September 2020
Upon arrival we found a lovely bottle if wine and chocolates, which were enjoyed whilst playing board games.. The cottage is superb, spotlessly clean. the garden is private and secure and our Yorkie loved it. the location is ideal, lovely days out at the coast
Mr Pickering, August 2020
A perfect spot for a relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside.. The east coast is in sight from the cottage, so it is only a car ride from lovely beaches, and time should be spent in the neighbouring villages whose history is fascinating. A heavy horse sanctuary and a wild cattle reserve should interest animal lovers and, even nearer to the cottage, wildlife abounds in the farmland which encircles the house. The owner is on hand but unobtrusive, and the home she has created for her visitors lacks nothing. It is beautifully furnished, very tastefully decorated and it is warm and cosy (for late-summer visitors like us). This whole experience has left us with happy memories, which will certainly last .... until our next visit!
What a fab cottage, I cannot wait to stay again
Wonderful stay at this cosy cottage.. A great peaceful base to explore Northumberland. The cottage was everything we expected and more. The owner was extremely welcoming, lovely welcome gifts on arrival. Clean, comfortable, a real home from home with everything we needed for a fantastic holiday and beautiful gardens. We look forward to returning. Thank you!
Just superb, the cottage was truly home from home, no notices scattered about the place with endless do's and don't's.. Originally our holiday was for one week, but we extended it to two weeks.....and prior to going this time, we had already booked the same cottage for two weeks in September, 2019, to celebrate our Golden Wedding, we know we will will not be disappointed.
The location is very peaceful and relaxing in a wonderful setting..
This was our first visit to Northumberland, and we much enjoyed the countryside, the coastal walks and the friendliness of everyone we met.. The owner of the property, Mrs Reavley, was especially helpful. In short, a super time, in spite of challenging weather.
Great location, brilliant garden for the dog and cosy open fire
Lovely peacefull location. Well equipped and nicely furnished cottage that was warm and cosy in no time following a day out. Charming hamlet of Ford, nature reserve and the Old Dairy all close by. Welcome gifts of chocolates and wine left by owner. Such a wonderful week away from towns and cities!
Brilliant, one of the best cottages we've stayed in..
Beautiful cottage & location.. Lovely friendly owner. Central to visit tourist locations, then return to the calm.
Fantastic place so peaceful perfect place to relax.. Only a small drive away from holy island , bambrough , seahouses etc well definitely be booking again x
It was a very comfortable and cosy cottage with beautiful views and everything we needed. It was in a very good location to travel around and make the most of the area. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and experiencing some wildlife close to the cottage. Our hostess was very thoughtful and helpful.
The remoteness of the cottage was ideal for what we wanted - ideal for getting away from it all and walking our dog. The kitchen was great - very impressed with how well-equipped it was. Loved the under-floor heating in the bathroom and how warm and cosy the cottage was.
We were delighted with the cottage which was very comfortable and had everything needed. Our dog particularly liked the very pretty, tidy and clean garden, the lovely walks down quiet lanes and hare spotting. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We both agree it was the best cottage we have stayed in and will certainly return. We have recommended it to friends and family.
The owners were very friendly and warmly welcomed us on arrival. The cottage was just as described, with wonderful views/location. Would definitely recommend and return if holidaying in the same area!

Large , clean and fantastic property.
Lovely well maintained cottage and garden surrounded by peaceful farmland. There were nesting swallows and the bird feeders in the garden were kept filled which attracted many birds. The cottage is conveniently close to all the major attractions and coastline of North Northumberland with the added bonus of being close to the less busy Scottish borders.
This is an excellent cottage in a perfect location. We've travelled the UK for many years and have stayed in a variety of cottages - this is the only place we've stayed more than once which says everything about the high standard of this accommodation. Highly recommended.
The cottage was just right for us and we were very pleased with the layout and homely feel of the place. Of course the fact that the views are stunning really helped.
The Cottage was very comfortable, cosy and warm and lovely views from every window. The location excellent for visiting the wonderful sites in Northumberland.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and left a welcome basket of goodies for us.
Would certainly return for another stay.

Peace and quiet, friendly owners, very good quality accommodation and a bottle to welcome us!
A wonderful place to stay and the owners are excellent hosts. A real gem of a place and we can't wait until next time.
Incredibly peaceful cottage - the silence was a perfect accompaniment to a chilled bottle of wine and the evening sunshine in the garden.
A splendid holiday with lovely owners.
We particularly liked everything! Loved the area, property was ideally situated in relation to all the places we wanted to visit, as well as the beautiful scenery. The cottage was wonderful - lovely and warm, cosy and very welcoming. The owners were extremely friendly and inviting, and we will definitely be returning.
Our time at Barmoor Ridge was filled with wonderful walks, beautiful scenery, lovely accommodation and helpfulness from the owners of the cottage.
The cottage is ideally situated for: visits to the coast - picking our way over some of the best shores we have ever walked; treking over the Cheviot Hills with a wonderful backdrop of fields and woodlands; visiting the border towns of Scotalnd which offer so much charm; or for just lazing around, reading or having a nap in such lovely quiet surrounds, interrupted only by the odd tractor, bird song or the bleat of a lamb.
The couple who own the property are very warm and friendly people. A welcome pack was there on arrival and had all the right things.
The entire holiday was lovely. The location of the property is ideal for hill walking (The Cheviots are only a few miles away) for strolling along the beach; miles of sands set in wonderful bays within easy reach, and so many places of interest. The cottage is just right and so peaceful. The hosts are exceptionally nice people.
Great location, excellent hosts, very good accommodation.

There are so many castles and places of interest, that we will just have to go back again and stay at Barmoor Ridge, which is a lovely cottage, as the week was just not long enough!

The peace and quiet, view from the kitchen window and the friendliness of the farmer who owned the cottage. He was so keen to show us the farm and the new born calves, which for children was an added bonus. Able to walk from the cottage into the countryside. We also loved the nearby village of Ford. Having cows directly in front of the windows was a joy to see.
