Outside the cottage offers off road parking for two cars and a rear enclosed garden with furniture, a BBQ and a small beck. With the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks both nearby, High Sprintgill Cottage is a lovely base for discovering Cumbria and the surrounding area.
Accomodation Details Three bedrooms: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin, 1 x single with additional folding bed (suitable for children up to 12 years only). Bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Kitchen with small dining area (seats 2). Dining room with piano. Sitting room with open fire.
Area A small and compact village, Ravenstonedale has much to offer the visitor seeking a quieter experience than the nearby Lake District National Park provides. It is a pretty village; traditional whitewashed stone cottages and stone walls border the fields, whilst theRaven brook trickles by. St Oswald's church is largely from the Georgian era, comprising a solid structure with a simple square tower. In addition, there are elements from older buildings incorporated in it, and the base of a Saxon cross just outside. To the north of the church, excavations in 1920 revealed the foundations of a 13th Century Gilbertine Abbey. Ravenstonedale is a fantastic base for exploring the Lakes to the west or the Yorkshire Dales, just a short drive to the east. Those who prefer to stay closer to home can explore the Howgill Fells, the rounded hills which signal the start of the Lakeland ranges.
Region Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

This cottage had everything you could need and was a home from home for the week.. The Aga being on to keep the place warm for when you walk in was amazing and useful for drying those wet clothes after a walk. The open fire was lovely to light at night and the wildlife that visits the garden was superb. Keep a look out for the red squirrel and the pheasant that visit most days. Beautiful views and so peaceful, we are looking to book again we enjoyed it so much.

This was a lovely holiday in a well-managed cottage.. Everything was there for us and it was easy to be there. Our little dogs loved the garden and the long walks around the area. We will certainly go back. Much thanks to the lovely caretakers

One of the best equipped cottages that we have stayed at.. The weather was bad but the 450 year old cottage was snug and warm. Our Border Collie loved the garden and spent most of the time watching the sheep on the other side of the wall. We had a visit from a red squirrel when we first arrived and there are plenty of good walks near by. Highly recommended.

Beautiful scenery in a lovely setting.. Probably the most relaxing holiday I have had in years.
The owners were also very good and kept in touch which was very reassuring.
The cottage was full of charm and spotlessly clean.
The views were magnificent and I would highly reccommend this.
The only downside I could think of is the access road has some really big pot holes which on some small cars could damage the suspension.
This aside probably one of the best holidays I have had and I would love yo return.

This is a lovely, peaceful holiday house.. The garden is truly enclosed and our dog loved being out there. The amenities are as described and more and we would love to return next year. There are many, many paths to walk all suitable for a dog on a lead. The local meat is beautiful and easy to cook on the aga. The local pubs also do great food. The aga keeps the stone- built house pleasantly warm. We were really sorry to have only one week here

Absolutely stunning location, beautiful old house, full of character, great period features - including the amazing Aga and the very characterful original kitchen range.. The house has been sensitively refurbished and is clearly lovingly maintained. It is wonderful to walk from up onto the adjacent fells from the back door, while being very private, and very quiet, and in the thick of nature with beautiful views across the valley. We had a very warm welcome from Sarah and the cottage comes packed with all the little extras you so often need but may forget to bring. A great stay - we were also lucky to have stunning sunny weather!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful area, warm, comfortable with amazing views.. Care needed to keep dogs under control with sheep everywhere!
The shower was a little unpredictable and there was not always enough hot water for 4 showers in the morning .The boost did not seem to do anything. Overall a lovely holiday and a beautiful cottage.

Cooking on the AGA for the first time was great, (would love one at home) and the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed down to toiletries and loo roll.. The only downside was the track leading to the cottage, it had large potholes and with our small car it can't have done it any good, we felt every one. We found it best for our passengers to walk down the track and get in the car at the bottom.

Warm, comfortable, clean cottage in a stunning location.. Lovely walks from the door onto the fells, outside tap to hose the dog down after walks. Loved the open fire in the range. Welcoming pubs with good food in the area. Friendly communication from the caretakers. Hassle-free key collection. Would definitely recommend.

Yes we would like to say that when we arrived at the Cottage there was such a welcoming feel with little touches that made such a difference and which I had not experienced before i.. E. little shampoos, torches body creams etc by our beds and in bathroom and flowers in vases, so lovely and there was nothing that we needed everything was there. Really good and would definitely recommend. We rarely go back to a Cottage as we like to move about but this one we would go back to, oldy worldly and cosy. Fantastic views from garden.

Beautiful surroundings! There were six of us staying, all adults, and there was plenty of space. Lots of homely touches to make you feel welcome. All kitchen facilities available, some quite old, but clean and fully functional. On the doorstep of the Lake District, so nowhere is more than an hour away for a lovely day out. I would recommend to anyone who likes a bit of seclusion with wonderful views and walks, with a definite touch of country atmosphere: we loved every minute!!!!

The cottage was excellent, comfortable, spacious lovely views.. . We loved the aga cooker there and it made a pleasant change to have a straightforward cooker which also kept the kitchen warm as well
There were loads of extra touches, toiletries, tea, salt and pepper, lovely touches, much appreciated. Once the weather cleared up we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others

We stayed at the cottage with a group of friends. The house is lovely and has anything you need, even fiber internet access. But still traditionally decorated and very cosy. Breathtaking views around the house. If you want to go hiking, just walk out of the house. There is lots of information provided by the owners, such as hiking maps and everything about nearby tourist attractions. The owners were lovely people and quickly responding when we had questions. We will definitively go back in the future and I can highly recommend this cottage.
