We returned back from Whitby yesterday after staying at high ridge for the last week. We stayed here in 2020 also and again it was very clean and welcoming. The apartment is in a great location, and 100% worth the money. You get the most amazing views over the abbey from the living room. They provide you with parking passes so you don't have to worry about paying for parking. We will deffo be returning again next year. Thankyou for a great stay!

The Apartment , location and views ate unsurpassed in Whitby in our opinion. Lovely alleyways guide you to find this central quiet and cosy hideaway. The interior and view are mesmericly funky. Clean, modern and well appointed this rooftop cosy apartment makes for a true Whitby stay. We loved it, the sunrises, quiet evenings and right in heart of old town made for a memorable time for us both. Whitby at is Gothic Romantic, Seaside best.

The car parking situation is ridiculous, even during low season we spent over 20 minutes finding somewhere to park and even then we had a good 5+ minute walk to the cottage.. Everything else was just as we’d hoped and expected, albeit the hot water tap in the bathroom sink basically didn’t work.

Fantastic views from lounge window , and everything we needed was there , just a shame about the yapping dog in the property below , hopefully it was on holiday and not a resident!

The proximity to Whitby main street and harbour couldn't be faulted ( just a few hundred yards down to the harbour ) and the views over Whitby the abbey and the sea were outstanding from this property, it was very clean, warm and comfortable too, parking so near to the centre was not good as you can imagine, but the supply of the zone parking scratchcards by the property owner was a bonus, so parking very close was not a problem at all.. Bus and rail links were also available from the town centre, so ample opportunity to visit many nearby seaside towns and attractions. We are missing those spectacular views already !

This is a great apartment.. It's bigger than the photos suggest, being spread over two floors (the lounge is in the eaves.) Views towards the abbey are amazing. The bed is comfy; clean, fluffy towels; powerful shower; good central heating; free wifi; very centrally-located - ideal for The Resolution, Pavilion, Little Angel pub and shops on Skinner St, but generally quiet at night. Parking permits are provided (Zone W.) Very clean; nice decor. If I was being picky: it'd be nice of soap / shower gel was available. Would definitely book again.

Only thing lacking in property was Wi-Fi , apart from that property was very well equipped, and the views from the windows are amazing..

Excellent location though the stairs are quite steep to the flat.. Would recommend finding a parking space then unloading and carrying you belongings to the flat.

The apartment was tidy and comfortable but there were several points which needed attending to in order to ensure the satisfaction of future tenants.. 1 No handwash. 2 Shower tap kept dropping off. 3 No coffee. 4 Bathroom inadequately sealed against leaks. 5 Kitchen clock not working. Lovely view from the room at the top.

The flat itself was very nice inside and we have no complaints.. But, two issues stand out. 1. The bins outside were overflowing which resulted in a nasty smell which I got up into the front bedroom. Also it was unsightly and a health hazard. Locals said they had seen rats around.Council collected day before we left. 2. The entrance to the flat is in need of some decoration and it is in poor quality. No lampshade, grotty carpet and general shabbiness.

Loved this flat! Absolutely perfect. Ideally placed, so easy to get to the heart of Whitby. The flat was comfortable and well equipped. However its certainly not for the infirm as there are flights of stairs to the flat and then 2 more in the flat! Car parking was a bonus even if we did have to park the car 2 streets and a 10 minute walk away. Really couldnt fault it

This is a 2 floor apartment that is accessed via 2 flights of stairs through a shared main entrance. On the first floor the apartment has a has a nice sized double bedroom with plenty of storage for your clothes and a decent bed with linen that smelled nice and fresh. The bedroom window was overlooking the back street, the window itself lifts up to open letting in lots of fresh air (which is important to me) but when closed it isn't very good at keeping out any noise but noise on silver street is quite rare through the night luckily. It has a bathroom with a bath and a good shower (some showers can be like standing under a dripping tap!) The kitchen also on the first floor was a good size too with everything you need for self catering. On the second floor was the sitting room, it has a 2 seater sofa a comfy chair and a dining table but being in the loft part of the building the shape of the ceiling might be a nuisance for taller people I'm 5'2 and was fine :) . The views from the kitchen and sitting room are facing the abbey and sea so are lovely to look out on. The apartment itself I found to be clean and tidy. It allows pets but it didn't smell of dogs (like some do) and there was no dog hair anywhere. High Ridge is situated very near to the swing bridge and shopping area of Whitby, really handy to nip back and forth to. Its surrounded by cafes and pubs and take-aways so you never have to walk far if your hungry. The most important thing to me when booking a holiday in the UK is price, I hate feeling ripped off but I think the price of High Ridge is one of the best for what you get, its just a shame it doesn't have a parking space as I found it a nightmare finding a space close by. I will definitely be booking again next year. If your OK with stairs you cant go wrong with this place.

The apartment itself was great, its in a perfect location to all the shops, pubs and cafes etc.. The views are great from the kitchen and top floor window. Its a good size , perfect for 2 and at a push could sleep 4. LOVED that we could take our dog and the fact it didn't "smell" of dog at all in any room. Great size kitchen and bathroom. The only MINOR things that were a problem were 1. access to the boiler to control the heating, it was behind a board that is screwed in to place so we were boiling! (very long arms needed to reach dial) 2. The bedroom window isn't very good at keeping noise out but its on a back street so luckily not much noise happens. 3. The main front door used by both flats has an old fashioned style latch that can accidently lock you out (happened to me last time I stayed in the flat below)! Could do with a newer style lock. 4. When we arrived in Whitby finding the correct parking zone (W) with a space then carrying our luggage to the apartment was a nightmare especially in a blizzard! I would highly recommend this apartment , its pricing is fare , its clean, its convenient to nip back and forth to, its cosy , right on top of the amenities and the owner is a phone call away and happy to help with any problems or questions. 10/10 :)

This was our second visit to High Ridge.. The only criticisms are minor. There is a problem with finding anywhere that's lit well enough to apply make-up. Lighting in the bedroom is dim and prevents reading in bed. The bath towels had seen better days and didn't dry you after a shower! Despite this the property is comfortable, relaxing and we will return for a third time. Good idea to add parking permits too!
