A week booked to celebrate a 70th, a 40th a 14 and a 1 Birthday so all generations were in evidence. As a boaty family the direct access to the water for canoes, topper and little rowing dingy was invaluable. We were very very lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time outside at the house.
It is very well furnished, the kitchen in particular has everything you need, huge fridge and freezer...
The beds were lovely and comfortable and the showers excellent, the only thing that prevents me giving 4 stars is the cleanliness...
Nothing that a lick of paint and a good scrub wouldn’t fix and then it truly would be amazing.
I suspect the house is booked up most weeks of the year but it would be a good use of a week to give it a freshen up....
It’s been a great relaxing week, we will no doubt plan a return visit. The lack of Wi-fi has been a treat!

A very well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage in a magical location. Day and nighttime views over the lake, even the swirling wind and driving rain were enjoyed by us all. The catering facilities for our party of 8 were excellent and could easily have coped with more. The lounge was tight for 10 but in good weather I presume guests would be outside as much as in. All the bathrooms were well designed with unlimited hot water and the shower in the shower room memorably powerful. We used the swimming pool in the central courtyard but other than the WiFi there, nothing else.
