Grove Cottages is a lovely mid-terrace cottage situated close to the town of Whitby just six miles from Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire. The cottage can sleep six people in one double bedroom, one twin and one with adult bunk beds together with family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room. Outside is off road parking for two cars and a private patio with furniture and communal gardens. Grove Cottage is a lovely property from which to explore this beautiful part of the country. Check in from 3pm

Area
The ancient fishing port of Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire, with its superb coastline and close proximity to the spectacular North York Moors. Whitby is a charming and atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The location of grove cottage was perfect for our holiday in Whitby and for travelling to all the our favourite places.We found the walk into Whitby very easy over the viaduct and down the cinder path ( now tarmac ),it takes about 20/25 minutes.grove cottage itself is in very quiet setting with great views,wildlife,steam trains passing ,easy parking outside.The cottage has everything you need for a perfect holiday.We have stayed In many cottages in Whitby over the years and this cottage is the best all round so far.

Grove Cottage was one of the most comfortable holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in.. It was absolutely like a home from home. Everything you could possibly want or need was provided for your stay, never been to a cottage so well equipped! Will definitely be back.

Grove Cottage is in a great location about 20 mins walk along the Cinder Path to Whitby or a couple of hours walk to Robin Hoods Bay.. The woods nearby are good to explore we saw a woodpecker and deer. The accommodation has everything you could need for a home from home. We had a lovely afternoon tea at the willow branch café enjoyed fish and chips at Hetty & Bettys and we always pay a visit to the White House restaurant which serves a fab Sunday Lunch. There's a sainsburys supermarket a few mins drive away.

Stayed in December 2018 Great owners and a luxurious cottage. Very comfortable with excellent view of viaduct to the front and north Yorkshire Moors to the rear. Well equipped comfortable cottage and lovely terrace views. A mile walk to Whitby which doesn't seem a mile using viaduct. Very cosy cottage and lovely owners. Very helpful and professional.

Grove Cottage location was excellent very peaceful and quiet yet Whitby only 30 mins walk by road or 20 mins using the scenic Cinder Route old railtrack.. Great scenic location and kids loved the Cinder track even managed to cycle from Whitby to Ravenscar. Cottage was so clean and lots of really nice little touches .The owners Geoff and Rhona have really put a lot of thought into this place and we had everything we needed. Will be staying here on all future visits to Whitby. Thank you very much Geoff and Rhona.

Our cottage was lovely in a great location and only around twenty minutes walk from the town centre, it was very well equipped, clean and cosy not far from the river with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside there was ample parking space and grassy areas for the children to play with plenty of places on the doorstep for dog walking, everywhere was kept clean and tidy with stunning views from the nearby viaduct crossing the river, definitely a place we will visit again at some point in the near future..

Really lovely spacious modern and comfortable property.. Parking directly outside for both cars. We didn’t walk into Whitby although you could go on cinder track along the Viaduct approx 30 mins, which looked a nice walk. Would go again and would recommend to anyone, peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed this Goth weekend at Whitby lots of fantastic costumes and nice atmosphere.

Great cottage in superb location at a very reasonable price.. Lots to see and do in and around Whitby and the North Yorkshire coast, and nice to come back to a lovely warm cottage during a very cold week in March. We had a trouble free relaxing break and would recommend both the cottage and Sykes.

We have stayed on this development 4 times and this has been the best property by far.. Nice walk along disused railway into Whitby so saves driving if you want a tipple!! There are also a good number of dog friendly pubs with real ale. There is also great walking in the area especially scenic cliff top walking.

We have just returned from our stay at Grove Cottage which was a wonderful family holiday.. The cottage was a true home from home experience and It's location next to the viaduct provided wonderful views. All facilities were as described and it really felt like you were staying at a friends holiday home being told to use what you want but just replace if things run out. The owners got in touch a couple of days before we arrived to confirm details and then rang on arrival day to make sure we were ok and had everything we required. Next time we return to Whitby we will certainly look to see if we can get back in.
